Twas the Night Before ... Christmas 09?! - 12/30 New TR! Please come join me!

So while I am here slogging away on my treadmill, it dawns on me that I will have to create a separate TR for my September "practically October" trip! BECAUSE I simply cannot muddle my Holiday color schemes!!!
I mean, I am a FALL girl... Married in October, go visit the fall foliage and wine tasting in the VA valley EVERY October, and to not dedicate a PTR to those colors and that season seems a crime! I have already committed myself to green and red on this PTR, SOOOOOOOOO... Here is where you come in! I can do a TR with the following "theme" I LOVE themes.. Gotta get a gimmick, ya know?

So. Should I:

1. Write a trip summary (as always)?

2. Write up a dining report specifically with the F & WF?

3. Concentrate on the MNSSHP and write just a mini TR on that event?

It would help me going in, so I know what kind of photos to take... this is such a short trip, and just a surprise as it is, so I thought it would be fun to do this differently...

Let me know what you think... I gotta split these two apart or I will be totally confused!!! Speaking of confused. I ran to Target today, and happened to see of course the school supplies on clearance and the halloween stuff rolling out in full force... THEN, imagine my dismay, an endcap of HOLIDAY NUTCRACKERS!!!!!!!!!! WHO are they kidding?!! I almost wanted to complain to the management!! ONE MAJOR HOLIDAY AT A TIME PEOPLE!
I expect this at Michael's, of course, where it is also a mixed seasonal frenzy as always, but Target?? Already?? sigh. :sad2:

TWO WEEKS!!! :yay: I have also compiled my

FALL SHOPPING AT DISNEY LIST!

1. The FOUR parks ONE world CD! (here I was thinking I was going to have to order it off Amazon! Little did I know the "shipping" was going to be a bit more expensive than I thought!! :rotfl:)

2. The MNSSHP CD!!!! (well I have been informed by other DISers in the know that this exists, so I must have it!)

3. TWO Christmas Stockings "disney" stockings, from the Christmas Shoppe in DTD... These will be for my two DS's and will double as their "pre-trip goodie bag" and of course will be hung with care at the Beach Club! :goodvibes

4. A few goodies for these stockings, not sure what, some candy maybe and a few trinkets for DS 4 and 7.

Of course this final shopping will be a bit covert, since they will be there with us.

Anyway, I have been mentally making these plans, etc., since I better start getting ready! I have to pack next weekend!!! :scared1: Which is crazy... I still can't believe I am going to WDW in two weeks... fourteen days... GASP!

I think a carriage/sleigh ride sounds lovely!! I've heard that taking the ride around Ft. Wilderness is better because all of the people at the sites decorate for the holidays and that they are really amazing to see. Some of them go all out. :santa:

I want a full out trip report for your upcoming trip. I'm selfish like that.

Okay, I just stumbled on your PTR here and really wanna come along for the ride. I LOVE Christmas too and really enjoyed our December trip last year. WDW at Christmas time is the BEST, it was such a magical time to go. We were planning on going again this year but something unfortunate just happened and we had to cancel. So.....I can't wait to read all about your Christmas adventures at WDW!!! You have a beautiful family....!!!

Yeah, I have heard this too... I am up in the air I like the "sleigh"

BUT I was planning this for our Hoop De Do Review night, so that makes sense... it appears BOTH start and stop at the Fort anyway... we'll see, I will do a little more studying :surfweb: (seems that the carriage is actually less than the sleigh... )

I want a full out trip report for your upcoming trip. I'm selfish like that.

Well, you know we will want all the details......
Really we will.....

I want a full-out trip report as well!

SIGH. You know I aim to please!! ;) Well I probably will just do that, but I was going to try this time and actually take foodie photos!!

I like your shopping list for this trip -- I have one, too!

YOU Better SHARE your shopping list!! I got my ideas for this last trip from YOU, and then I went and forgot to buy the dang CD!!!

So last night I worked on an "invitation" to the MNSSHP for my boys.... I think it is kinda cute :upsidedow Once I finish it I will share it with you all.. I took the graphic from the "map" that is on the MNSSHP thread.... have any of you seen that? It is posted under the "Park Strategies, etc. " Thread....

Well WELCOME!!! Happy to spread some holiday cheer this next few months!! It is 96 days until Disney for me!!! I think I hit my 110 milestone, then got totally distracted and missed my own 100 days!!!! :rotfl: So glad you are here! :upsidedow Would love your input on my plans if you have any tips along the way!

Woo hoo for two weeks until Halloween festivities at Disney!!! :hmghost:
Well, WOO HOO to a little MORE than two weeks until Food and Wine Adults only festivities at Disney !!! :yay: :goodvibes

Either a carriage ride or a sleigh ride sounds like so much fun! You are truly going to have a wonderful Christmas trip!!!

Yes, I am thinking so... still exploring!

Oh the sleigh ride or carriage ride sounds amazing!! I hope you'll take a lot of pictures to share with us!!!! You guys are going to have a great time!!

OOH I am at 2 weeks too....I've been working away on my to-do list today!!!!!

YAY!!! I hope you're having a blast planning both your trips!

OH I am!!! my head is going in two different directions, but I am having fun!

I will definitely take lots o pictures for the December trip, be sure of that! I am so so very excited for everything! :cloud9:

YOU Better SHARE your shopping list!! I got my ideas for this last trip from YOU, and then I went and forgot to buy the dang CD!!!

It's a pretty short list since it's a short trip. I am planning on getting the Food and Wine poster, cookbook, spoon rest, maybe a magnet, maybe a pin. I also will need to get a couple of little things for the kids -- guilt souvenirs .

I :love::love: your 12/23 plans!

I second the vote for the carriage ride at the Fort to see all the decorated sites!

As to the upcoming trip, Food and Wine pics!!!!! So I can live vicariously :)

The 23rd sounds good!! We did the sleigh ride from WL in 2006...soooo great! I just booked our carriage ride for our December trip at POR. They said though that the sleigh ride is now at the Fort...just to let you know so you check into it. (In case it changes anything for you) I can't wait to hear about your Christmas Eve and Day plans! I hope you are taking a tree to decorate!

Hmmm..I would vote for all of the details of the MNSSHP, if you must write something a bit shorter. If not, all of the trip details, please.:)

Great shopping list, and how fun to be able to shop IN Disney for your Disney Christmas.:yay: I want a 4 parks 1 world CD now, too. I don't think I can afford the shipping YOU'RE paying, though.:rotfl:

Wow, less than 2 weeks now! You pulled this trip together fast! Great job, mom.:thumbsup2

ooo-I'd vote for all the glorious details of the Halloween party-but selfishly since I 'm an autumn girl-love Halloween and pumpkins and apple cider...

I think a sleigh ride seems charming and romantic even with the kiddos...:thumbsup2

(Did I miss something...can you do the carriage from WL all year or just Christmas?)

I am like the rest of you. I love Christmas.... every single thing about it... the shopping, the wrapping and even the cranky customers but i work in retail and can not have vacation during the months of November and December. Can anyone tell me when Disney World takes down their Christmas displays and lights. I would love to see the Christmas decorations at Disney and I am planning a 10 day vacation to Disney World with an additional 11 day stay in Orlando. I was looking at the end of January until Mid February but would move the vacation to the earlier part of January if the lights and decorations were up after January 3rd. Anyone have any informtion on this.:littleangel:

OOOH!!! Cookbook? huh. Is that for the F&W? Poster, good idea! Magnet, very good idea... wonder if they have F&W magnets... re guilt souvenirs, I can see how these would be useful... :rolleyes1

Thanks! Yes, I have to make the decision about that -- I think my boys would like it, I just want to make sure it is worth the $ for the time... which seems rather short...

Re the TR, I guess I will just do the whole thing!!! I will start playing around with my printouts and my binder this weekend, I want to get my ADRs all 100% confirmed... I also have to nail down my Christmas plans because ADR day is approaching!:scared1:

I'm excited to hear about your two trips!

I'm in!! :yay::yay:

Hello! HO HO HO! Welcome!!! So glad to have others join in for the holiday cheer.... I see you have a Christmas trip, too??? :santa:

Was it?? I am glad to hear, I think it would be fun! Yes, the sleigh ride is at the Fort (I saw that too, which just means we will drive to the lodge, boat over to the Fort for HDDR, and boat back and over to MK after soaking in all the decorations! TREE. YES, I am taking a tree. OF COURSE. This will all be revealed AFTER my September trip... CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?? MY mini-Disney getaway is interfering with my OTHER Disney vacation!! The nerve of this getaway... :rotfl: SOME HOW I will survive. ;)

I agree with the others, a sleigh ride at WDW sounds like a lot of fun!!!!!
I saw a photo of the sleigh on the Christmas thread, it looks so much fun! :goodvibes

Oh all right, I can't keep anything from you all! But I will spend extra attention on MNSSHP, don't worry! :thumbsup2

Yeah, I know it is funny to be doing this silly shopping, but want to get these items in advance! Yes, less than two weeks. OH GOOD GRIEF, did I really write that??!! :upsidedow

I don't know about the carriage, I think it is only at the Fort, and the sleigh used to be from WL but now loops starting @ Fort Wilderness... It should be fun, I am just confirming I want to book it... We love Autumn too... :cloud9:

Hello! I think I heard they started taking down the decorations after January 3rd, but I don't know the system... Additionally maybe on the Christmas thread there is more info?
