We are heading to Disney for 7 days in Feb. We are finalizing the reservations and we going to do Chef Mickey for Breakfast (Mon) and Tusker House for Lunch (Wed). When looking at the Character info it looks like they have a lot of the same characters. Is this accurate? Going with a 5 yr girl and 18 month boy. They love the Disney characters but wondering if we should switch out one of the meals for another option to get more variety. What do you guys think? Any other suggestions?

Chef Mickey: Donald, Goofy, Mickey, Minnie, Pluto

Tusker House: Donald, Goofy, Mickey, Daisy

Character wise you're right on the money.

I think both is fine. They're dressed in different outfits which makes it fun. They also have different things going on - TH has the kids parading around with African instruments and Chef Mickey's has a song where they swing their napkins around... they're both fun.

If you're only doing 2 character meals the whole trip, I'd probably switch it up to see more characters, but we do probably all of the character meals every trip and it's never bothered my girls :D

Correct. Similar characters - different outfits. The other thought might be to see if you can get in to the Crystal Palace to see Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, and Piglet....if they like those characters, of course.

I've heard some good things about the character meal (breakfast or lunch) at Hollywood and Vine in DHS. If your daughter loves these characters:

Join Little Einsteins June and Leo, Handy Manny, and Special Agent Oso for breakfast. Sing and dance along with your hosts, the Playhouse Pals, as they entertain you with interactive moments featuring everyone's favorite Playhouse Disney songs.

It might be fun. We haven't tried it yet, though.

Does Tusker House have characters at lunch? I thought they just did characters at breakfast.

We do both each trip and enjoy each one. We also do Crystal Palace. If I had to pick Chef Mickey's or Tusker House, I would pick Tusker House for sure. We had lunch at Hollywood & Vine in 2010 and didn't care for it at all and we haven't been back. They could have changed some things since then though.

We ate lunch at Tusker house on Monday. Food was great and character interaction was consistent. They probably all visited twice while we were there.

We just did Tusker House lunch and while the wait sucked, the service (our waitress was HORRIBLE) sucked....the food was tasty and the characters were great. I loved it way more than Chef Mickey's.
