I always assumed that Disney bought thin toilet paper because it would be less likely to clog the toilets, but then looked for the cheapest option of thin toilet paper.

I think it has to do with maintenance. They likely use a TP formulated to cause fewer clogs to the plumbing. and I can live with that.

I agree, and I can live with it for the week or so that I am there.

As is usually the case, I've finished a beautiful vacation to the most magical place in the world and the lingering question is why does Disney torture us with their choice of toilet paper. Most frequent visitors I've mentioned this to have stories on how they combat this headwind. A nominal increase in maintenance fees could more than cover the cost increase and the cost to repair added clogging issues. Which brings me to my question.

I've had better quality toilet paper in restrooms in third world counties. Disney's ability to convince people they are a luxury (or even middle class) brand while having huge margins and substandard amenities and service (including scale on showerheads and toilet paper that is more suitable for using as craft projects than touching tender areas of the body - but also long hold times, long lines, horrible sheets, marginal food at high prices, etc.) is the envy of the corporate world. Its one of the reasons we use points at HHI.

Nah, I've had U.S. toilet paper that is as high a quality as anything I've come across is some very nice British locations. And as someone who now works in facilities management, if your systems can't handle the toilet paper, you either didn't spec your systems properly, or they aren't maintained properly. If its a Disney thing, than its systemic - and also fairly new. Toilet paper at WDW wasn't that bad even twenty years ago.

(Don't flush any toilet paper in most of Peru and much of Mexico - although better resorts in Mexico usually have appropriate sewage systems. The U.S. hasn't hit third world standards in sewage yet)

I noticed the TP was pretty bad on my last visit, and if they spent a few more pennies on it, I would not mind!

Can we ask them to descale the showerheads?

A friend keeps a not-low-flow showerhead and a wriench in his owners locker. I have not gotten to that point...yet. And TBH, the rainshowers in the newer/recently redone units are pretty nice.

I have a friend that removed the restrictor in our shower head one trip, and just put it back before we left. I can call DH my friend right? I wouldn’t do this myself but he has years of experience installing bathrooms.

I'm not eating in the Mexico pavilion until they supply better TP.

Seriously I bring my own, but for the cost of Disney accommodations I shouldn't need to.

I definitely appreciate good toilet paper. I haven't felt the need to bring my own to Disneyland, but I usually buy toilet paper when staying at Marriotts. My own toilet can't flush the really fluffy Charmin. I recently bought some and there was always a little stuck to the side of the toilet when I flushed. I've never had that issue with any other brand. So, I assume that's why hotels use one ply and junky brands. Easier to flush since you never know how many squares people are going to use.

Its one of the reasons we use points at HHI.

But, unfortunately the toilet paper at HHI is no better. Maybe they use the 1-ply because of the septic system on islands, but after our stay, unless we bring our own TP, I have difficulty sitting on the plane home.

Yes. Not quite that good though

Too low water pressure takes way too long to wash off the Orlando sweat and sticky layers of sunscreen. Just trickles off bushy hair. It’s like trying to bathe with only a tablespoon and a bowl of water.
