Turning 5 at Disney World-a review of birthday dinners and experiences

This is my very first restaurant review

My daughter turned 5 at Disney World and we were in Magic Kingdom on her actual birthday! What a fun day I had planned, breakfast at Chef Mickey's followed by monorail to Magic Kingdom and meeting all of the princesses! Then we had an appointment at the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique. After she had her princess makeover we went on her favorite ride-Magic Carpets of Aladdin. Then we did some shopping and rode the monorail to the Grand Floridian for dinner at 1900 Park Fare. Whew! What a fun fun day! I am going to post some reviews of the different restaurants coming up soon.

Breakfast at Chef Mickey's was a great experience, but I felt it was over priced. My kids are not big breakfast eater's to start with and definetly did not eat $20+ worth of food. However, they loved the attention from the characters. As you enter the restaurant they take your picture and then give you the option to purchase it (I feel that it should be included in the price!).

The breakfast buffet is very nice, there are lots of yummy choices. There is a cereal bar and a fresh fruit section which is great. I actually took a few bananas for our day in the park...shhh. My kids enjoyed the Mickey shaped waffles. My husband enjoyed the scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and grits.

Because it was my daughter's birthday the server brought her a complimentary chocolate cupcake! This made my daughter's day! The cupcake was so yummy! The server's also sing Happy Birthday (group effort) to everyone who has a birthday. Overall, this was a wonderful start to my daughter's special day.
