The character pics are awesome!
I love all the shots of Main St. Snowing and all done up for Christmas! So magical!

Loved the photopass pix!! Especially the Pooh and Friends ones. So wonderful to get a pic with all 4 of the friends at once. And I loved all the borders-it is too hard to choose when they are all so cute!
I did like the parade as well. The soldiers were my favorite part.

Holiday Wishes and the Christmas Parade look wonderful! I need to get down there for a Christmas party someday.

Your pictures with the WTP gang are adorable! I'm so glad you found the line shorter later in the evening.

The PP pictures on the way out are very good. You don't need to apologize for the borders. I say the more the better!

Where are you located? I am ready for winter to be over. Your DD is adorable though.

We are very close. We live in Glendale Heights (just moved from CS a couple years ago), but I still work in Carol Stream. Never know who you can meet on here.:confused3 :thumbsup2

Just got all caught up! I can just never get over pictures of Disney at Christmas. siiigghhhhh. Someday!
Your pictures with Pooh and friends are just so sweet! Following your TRs has definitely put them on my list to meet next time!

Kathy I've never watched downtown Abbey -- i'm sure I would like it, I just don't have that mch time for tv. As it is, I totally immersed myself in Once Upon a time over Christmas but have not been back on Netflix since 12/30. No Time!

The problem is we have no more time for new shows. We have our favorites that we watch or DVR every week--NCIS, NCIS LA, Criminal Minds, Person of Interest, Chicago Fire and Blue Bloods. It's so hard to fit in any more with working full time.

I'd say that Mark is more like the Grumpy in the show---he started out as Dreamy but had to give up his Dream (love) and now he's Grumpy)---except that Mark clearly did not have to give up his dream -- he is living with her everyday and enjoying every moment of it.

Awwww...that made me  Thank you, MaryEllen.

but I do love his shirt collection!

He has a great collection and he got a new one on the trip from Brenda (emmysmommy).

You and Cayley did it right hitting BTMRR twice while the gang waited for the parade!

It worked out perfectly.

I never would have guessed that the bridge by Splash was good viewing for Wishes. I'll have to make a note of that one!

It's not the bridge where you stand and watch the boats come down. It's the little bridge that connects you from Liberty Square to Frontierland. I like it over there...never any crowds.

So many characters in the parade. Love that. Pinocchio does look a little scared in that one photo, but he looks great walking with Jiminy Cricket!

I love that they bring out a lot more characters for the holiday parades.

Your photos with Tigger & "the boys" turned out great. Love the one with Mark & Eeyore. so cute!

Thank you. :goodvibes

The castle looks so pretty with all of the icicles hanging. Not sure when we will ever get to see Disney at Christmas now that we realize that we can't take Katie away from school for vacation any more. its just too hard for her to get back in the swing when she gets back. and the idea of the Christmas week crowds is really scary to me!

Yes, after Andy's experience two days after Christmas through New Year's Day, I don't think I could go then. What about when she first gets Christmas break? It might not be quite as hectic then.

you all really did have a wonderful first day!

We did. :)

hope you've managed the cold well. Here they closed school today & have a 2 hour delay tomorrow due to the wind chill temps. bah. I walked the dog this morning -- well bundled as I should be -- and it wasn't that bad for the short time I was out. Less time than kids would have waited for the bus. oh well!! be warm and safe.

Today it is actually balmy--14 above. I never left my house on Monday; yesterday was a little brutal, but being that I was born here and have lived here all my life, you kind of know how to handle it. Did Katie have school Monday and Tuesday?

Love the updates!

Thanks, Tim.

Do they play the music for Wishes all the way near Splash? I've never watched Wishes in MK from anywhere but Main St or the hub.

As explaiend above, it's the bridge/walkway that connects you to the Frontierland mountains after you pass Liberty Square. You can hear it a little but not as well as if you are up near the hub.

Glad you got to see Pooh & friends.

Me too.

Gotta love the Christmas parade& That is what my next update is gonna be. I might just go write that now.:artist:

Fibber; your next update was NOT the parade. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Love the fireworks and parade photos, ahh I love that party so much!

I do too...just wish it weren't so crowded. :(

The character pics are awesome!

Thank you; they are definitely my favorite characters.

I love all the shots of Main St. Snowing and all done up for Christmas! So magical!

It truly is!

Loved the photopass pix!! Especially the Pooh and Friends ones. So wonderful to get a pic with all 4 of the friends at once. And I loved all the borders-it is too hard to choose when they are all so cute!

Thanks, Linda. From what I've read about the Halloween ones, they weren't that good. But with the new Memory Maker who knows what they will look like when we get there in September.

I did like the parade as well. The soldiers were my favorite part.

I LOVE the soliders!

Holiday Wishes and the Christmas Parade look wonderful! I need to get down there for a Christmas party someday.

You really should, Ariana...you would love it.

Your pictures with the WTP gang are adorable! I'm so glad you found the line shorter later in the evening.

We really got lucky with the line.

The PP pictures on the way out are very good. You don't need to apologize for the borders. I say the more the better!

I have to agree...they are so fun.

We are very close. We live in Glendale Heights (just moved from CS a couple years ago), but I still work in Carol Stream. Never know who you can meet on here.:confused3 :thumbsup2

I know exactly where GH is. Perhaps one of these days we will meet in person.

Just got all caught up! I can just never get over pictures of Disney at Christmas. siiigghhhhh. Someday!

Oh, Maddie, I hope you get there one day at Christmas...there is nothing like it. I'm just sorry it took us over 20+ visits to finally do it in 2012. Pooh and Tigger and Eeyore are so much fun, especiallY Tigger.

Today was the day I was looking forward to most on this trip. We were going to the Animal Kingdom which we had NOT gotten to on our first Christmas trip in 2012.

We woke up and got ready for the day. I took some pictures of the pictures hanging on the wall in our room (I really liked the second one):

Although we had an early ADR for lunch (11:30, Mark needed something to eat (he has to eat food with one of his medications). Therefore, we decided to head over to the Boardwalk Bakery:

A couple of pictures while we were waiting in line:

Mark ended up with a Chocolate Chip Croissant

(yes, he took a bite out of it BEFORE the picture and had to turn it upside down in the wrapping).

We went and sat under the portico by the Villas while he ate his croissant and I drank my cappucino (no picture...I'm sure you've seen plenty of those).

Going up the stairs to go through the lobby to go to the parking lot:

We drove over to the AK and met Mary and the girls there. I can't believe this is the FIRST picture I took at the AK? I was not very good with pictures at times.

The CROWDS of people:

Anyone guess what our first attraction was?

Does this help?

Our vehicle arrived and we were soon boarding:

Soon we were on our way. Now let me explain why some of these pictures might be really, really bad. We were seated in the very last row of the vehicle. While this can be ideal to slightly turn and get pictures behind you, it is EXTREMELY BUMPY! I thought I'd need to find a chiropractor after that ride (thankfully, we had taken a bio-break BEFORE we got on).

You don't need chatter from me. Let's look at some wild animals:

I just LOVE giraffes...they are definitely my favorite!

Mary wondering if she was going to survive this ride?

Mark's favorite:

Elephant butt:

I will say that while we saw a lot of animals on our own, our driver was the worse we've ever had. He was very boring, didn't offer a lot of information, etc.

Up next: After our two-week safari, we have rumblings in our tummy. Where's lunch?

That's just a beautiful view!

I'm sure you could of just inserted any number of pictures you've taken of coffee. :coffee:

Sometimes it is good to put the camera away and just soak in what's going on around you. :goodvibes

Anyone guess what our first attraction was?
Stitches Great Escape? :lmao:

The end of your first day certainly was great! You saw and did so much!

Ak is always a favorite if mine.... Live the safari pics!!!

Soon we were on our way. Now let me explain why some of these pictures might be really, really bad.
hummm…

a) hungover
b) shaky hands
c) not enough caffeine?
d) Mark kept tickling you?

Oh, I guess I was way off. :rolleyes2

That just plain stinks.

Got cha.

True… I thought I was going to get to it but I didn't. Hey, you got an update, what more do you want from me? :lmao::lmao:

I love the views around the boardwalk. I usually take a weekend trip to the Jersey shore every summer and I usually get coffee and sit on the boardwalk and watch the town come alive.

How could you forget an AK entrance pic? I probably have 20 of them. Seriously every trip and multiple visits I take the same pictures.

The safari is my favorite ride in AK. I am impressed the lions were awake. They are very hit and miss.

The lion yay! :cool1:

I love that picture of the elephant with his trunk in a loop. That's cool!

So Mary doesn't like Safari? She does look like she might be feeling a little sick. :(

Today it is actually balmy--14 above. I never left my house on Monday; yesterday was a little brutal, but being that I was born here and have lived here all my life, you kind of know how to handle it. Did Katie have school Monday and Tuesday?

.

Monday started out at 57 here, so it was rainy and temps dropped throughout the day -- she had school thankfully! the temps dropped over night and she was off of school Tuesday and then had a two hour delay this morning (Wednesday). By this morning the temps were at 4, but the wind had fizzled out so it was tolerable walking the dog. Cracked me up that they cancelled school & had a late opening. When I was a kid we just bundled up & off we went. (dang I sound old now don't I? LOL)

Have to smile at your favorite tv shows. Joe watches a lot of those. I catch them when I can but TV doesn't happen that often for me.

Therefore, we decided to head over to the Boardwalk Bakery:
mmmmm boardwalk bakery

I really enjoyed all the Boardwalk photos - it was done so nicely for Christmas.

We drove over to the AK and met Mary and the girls there. I can't believe this is the FIRST picture I took at the AK?

Some times you just need to have fun!!! AK looks pretty crowded.

Great Safari shots Kathy - even some of the lion!

You got some wonderful!! photos on the safari. LOVE all your close-ups! We have had some really awesome guides and some real stinkers as well. I love when you get the ones that are willing to go off script and just rattle off information that they have about the animals. On our last safari, we were stopped several times on the savannah by animals that couldn't care less that they were standing in the middle of the road. :lmao: The guide was great. He just talked to us off script while we sat and waited for our turn to use the road.

All the Christmas decorations around the Boardwalk area make everything look so pretty. Just like at home, when it's time to take everything down, it all looks so bare.

Caught up on your party updates!

:cool1:

Looks like you got pretty decent spots for the fireworks and parade. :thumbsup2

That's another fantastic selfie in the BTM line!

Sounds like it was a good call for the girls to head back for some rest. I'm glad you stayed and had some nice moments.

WTG: WTP M&G (look mom, no vowels)

The pictures of Mark and Eeyore are adorable!

I know you didn't do it, but tell me about the Jingle Cruise. Is it only during the party or all the time around Christmas?

You commented about how you went crazy on the holiday borders. I don't blame you one bit. I think I commented before, but they are so cute!

I LOVE this picture!!! It really speaks to me. And what it says is "Dee, you NEED to get to Disney during the holidays"

:santa:
