And what has now become a tradition since we met Mary and the girls...do you want to buy a Sombrero? How could you not with those cute models?
But with better music. Kind of makes me feel like I'm in one of my favorite Mexican restaurants with the music on that ride.We then took a ride on the Mexican version of It's a Slow Boat to China
My favorite storyteller.
So what was wrong with you???Then we stopped in Germany where the gang (well, all except me) decided they needed something from the caramel shop
You got the best Christmas pictures! Really captured the spirit of the season. That little area near Norway is so cute.
Thanks, MaryEllen. I tried really hard to get more Christmas themed pictures this year since I did poorly during Mark's birthday trip in 2012.
The girls look so adorable in their sombreros. It would have been hard to resist buying them. But my favorite is definitely Mark's hat in China. Yup - that's a classic.![]()
Looks like a fun time with the girls.![]()
It was; we have so much fun with them.
I used the Great Piggy Bank Adventure at the end of one year to review all of the Math skills we learned. The kids went from station to station doing tasks and collecting money for completing them, and then they bought goodies (odds & ends contributed by teachers) with their money. It was a fun event for them, and I was able to sneak a tiny bit of Disney into my school day.![]()
I love the games in the Innoventions buildings, they're so fun.
This is the first time we've seen them since our boys were really little.
Beautiful Christmas photos, especially in Norway! Charming
Love the sombrero pics!!
WOW! the sombrero is going to swallow her whole!!!
You should have seen the one when she was even smaller!
The best picture is Mark int he China hat...![]()
Fun times in the World Showcase!!
It was fun...we really had a great time.
Loved the photos of the girls and Mark in their Sombreros. But the one of Mark in China is classic!
Silly husband of mine.
I love the Mexico pavilion. I could spend hours in there looking around at all the stuff. Wish I could afford to bring home some of the little animals.
They have some really terrific stuff in there. I need a bigger pocketbook.
The Great Piggy Bank Adventure is a cute way to spend some time.
The girls really enjoyed themselves.
Mmmmmmm. the Karamel Kuche!! Love the homemade turtles. And the dark chocolate with caramel.![]()
OK, so I already commented on the last post but I had to stop back in and ask if anyone else is "singing" the title in their head to the tune of "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?" from Frozen?![]()
That bag is simply adorable!!!!!!!!! How very very fun. I hadn't heard of her bags and now want to check them out too.
They are great fun. PM if you want the link to her FB page.
What a fun ride on TT and the weather looks just perfect. I love the girls outfits today too and very glad you were able help Avery over her momentary shyness to go see Aurora.
The weather was perfect this day (a little "war" at times). I couldn't believe Cayley pulled the shy card.
Garden Grill has never interested me but I'm glad the characters were good, that's something and as always, the sombrero pics are adorable.
I think this was Cayley and Avery's choice; I'm glad we tried it again so I know I don't have to do it again.
That said, those French berets are tres chic on both girls!
Aren't they though?
Whew, only 3 updates behind.
I think.
Caught up for now. Until I'm not again!
The sombrero pictures are adorable and, like you said, it must be a hard decision on whether or not to buy them when the girls look so cute in them.
They sure do...they warm my heart.
The picture of mark in the hat in China had me giggling like crazy for some reason.
Probably because my husband looks ridiculous.
Oh goodness, I would love to have something from the caramel shop right now. My mouth is watering.
I just love looking at all the Christmas decorations! It makes me want to move my trip.
It truly is a very magical time.
The girls are just too beautiful and they look like they were having a blast. The pic of Mark in China made me laugh out loud here at work!
I'm back! We had a wonderful and interesting trip last week, I'm hoping to get the TR started by the end of this week.
Be sure you send out a bat signal when you start it.
I'm glad you were busy and didn't update too much because I didn't get too far behind.
I was really hoping to get this TR done before we leave in 9 days for our business trip, but it just isn't going to happen.
First of all I love your new Dumbo bag! D~ creations are wonderful and you will have a blast carrying it in the parks.
I can't wait to carry mine in May.
The "extra guy" on your TT picture cracked me up! He was either terrified or hamming it up for the camera. I haven't quite figured out where the camera was moved to on that ride. I know it's outside now but I'm not exactly sure where.
I haven't a clue where the camera is on that ride. And I doubt I'll find out any time soon because Mark and I don't bother with it.
Cute pictures with Aurora!
Thanks.
I love that new meet and greet area for Pluto in Epcot, the background mural is just so pretty. I need to get my picture with him there sometime. I was so busy taking care of family last week that I never got a chance to meet with Pluto.
I cannot believe YOU missed a photo-op with Pluto.
I'm hoping the Garden Grill dinner was just an off night because I have it booked for May. Of course just seeing my Pluto will be worth it even if the food isn't that good.
It could have been. It wasn't awful, just not to our liking.
I really need to spend some time one of these trips in Innovations. I've only gone in there a few times for the Visa meet and greet.
Love the Sombrero photos!
I can't believe that I didn't get into Karamel Kuche in December - what was I thinking!!![]()
I want to Garden Grill just for Chip and Dale. Plus Mickey is just so cute in his farmer outfit! I don't get why the place spins though. Do you get views of Living with the Land? Movement and food are generally things that don't go well together, right?
The characters were great! It spins EXTREMELY SLOW...you wouldn't even notice if you didn't know about it; yes, you do go by a few scenes of Living with the Land. The movement will NOT bother your eating.
I didn't know that there was a caramel shop in Germany! I will definitely have to stop there! I wonder if they also have a dentist handy for all the fillings that are probably ripped out...![]()

Yay, we got Andy's approval.
But with better music. Kind of makes me feel like I'm in one of my favorite Mexican restaurants with the music on that ride.
Definitely better music.
I guess that's why I'm always craving chips and salsa while I'm on it.
Or a margarita.
My favorite storyteller.
Not the gnome guy.
His female storyteller...
We only heard part of it; I'll need to get back for all of it.
So what was wrong with you???![]()
OK, so I already commented on the last post but I had to stop back in and ask if anyone else is "singing" the title in their head to the tune of "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?" from Frozen?![]()
Hahaha... I just LOVE that pic of Mark in the hat from China! ROFL! I'll be laughing about that one all day!
I'm glad I could gtive you a smile for the day.
The sombrero photo is great - the girls are aorable!
Absolutely!
The caramel looks delicious - but I"ll just stick to steak. LOL
I'm with you....I'll stick with steak.
And I love all the Christmas decoration pictures... Some day... <--- I've only said that a bazillion times...
D~
On my trip in January, I had noticed that some of the items they had in the shop in France are actually from Disneyland Paris. I was like "wow, I have this!"
I didn't notice that; I'll have to be on the look out next trip.
We ate at Garden Grill before it was even called Garden Grill. I think it used to be called like the Good Turn or something.
I KNEW it had another name! I just googled it and you are right...Good Turn.
Everyone looks so great in their sombrero's!
Yes, they do.
Hahahahaha. Okay, the China hat picture is the best.
Lucky you to be on the receiving end of that Dumbo bag. I really think it's my favorite D~ bag!
Thank you; I am so excited about it.
Trying on sombreros is something we do, too.I can't wait to try out the cararmel shop, too! That will be a first!
Fantabulous update Kathy! Yes, that's a real word by the way...
I never doubted it.
Because my girls are constantly listening to the Frozen soundtrack, I immediately started to hum "Do you want to build a snowman?" when I saw this update title lol!
I love how everyone is bringing up Frozen.
Too funny that the girls did some gymnastics stuff in Innoventions! Just like my youngest 2 DD's "oh look, wide open space to do ariels across!"
I remember in June they wanted to do it on the grass at Epcot.
So just to clear here, Mark and the girls are picking the noses of the Aztec characters on the stone tablet outside the Mexico Pavillion??
Absolutely; doesn't everyone?
Love the sombrero shots, so cute!!
Thank you.
That china hat pic!!!!!!!!!Mark is such a ham!
Oh he most certainly is.
Sigh, Karamel Kuche (or however it's spelled!) looks yummy but would you believe those stupid caramels are made with wheat of all things?? Stupid gluten.
I would have never known it had wheat in it. Thank you for sharing that.
Super cute update.I realize too that I missed some previous ones and I did say that if that happened you could make fun of Tim, which isn't all that hard...whip picture, cough, cough, whip picture, cough, cough!
Looks like Mark is having fun teaching the girls to follow in his footsteps (or headwear!).
He's taught the well.
I love the look of the parks at Christmas. I think our trip next year will be in December, and it will more than likely be a huge family trip.
YES!![]()
Tomorrow is Andy's 28th birthday. I'm not sure how that is possible since I am only 39 years old.Andy mentioned he wants to go see Frozen this weekend and I may go with him.
So, we got ALL of our September trip booked and a lot paid for. We will stay at the AKL/Kidani in a one-bedroom villa for three nights (Mark thinks I got a studio, but I couldn't pass up that gorgeous bathroom in the one-bedroom) and then four nights in a studio at the Boardwalk Villas. Both resorts are paid in full; airfare booked and paid for; condo dates for after Disney confirmed. We still have to rent a car but I am waiting a long while for that until the prices come way down. ADR's can be made on March 22 and I have all of our places picked out and ready to call first thing that morning.
So just to clear here, Mark and the girls are picking the noses of the Aztec characters on the stone tablet outside the Mexico Pavillion??![]()
We spent a little time here and there was no one around so the girls decided to show us their gymnastic action on the big carpet (I dont' recall if it was raining and that's why we hung out or what).
We then took a ride on the Mexican version of It's a Slow Boat to China:
We started walking again and passed Norway (the wait for the ride was way too long so we skipped it):
