TSMM - No Spoilers!

My one hour wait was quite tolerable, in part because it started after sunset. Standing out in the sun for an hour might be a different story, so YMMV.

I went with DW, DS and DD the first week that the ride opened...and the ride broke down twice over the span of 2 days. I don't know if anyone else encountered the same problem....but there appears to be technical issues that this ride has to overcome. I will admit that the 2nd time it shutdown....it may have been due to power issues since that was during a heatwave.

But something to note....if they do shutdown the ride and the clear out the lines.....check to see if they hand out tickets ( which pretty much are the same as FastPass ) to those in line so that you can cut straight to the front of the line once the ride opens. After the 2nd time it closed down....we were waiting in line for about 45 minutes and DW saw that after everyone left...there was a small line where the Disney Cast Members were writing these tickets. I don't know if they do this on a regular basis....but they did this when we were there. Once the ride opened up....we were able to jump to the front of the line and got in after 10 minutes.

One more thing....if you have an infant or toddler that can't ride the ride that has an older sibling....be sure to take advantage of the "Parent Swap" ( or whatever they call it ) feature at Toy Story Mania ( similiar to what Universal Studios uses). Since I have a 3 month old DD ( yes, we are exposing her to Disney at an early age ) and a 4 year old DS, you can get this "Parent Swap" ticket and all wait in line. When you reach the ride....DW can go with DS on the ride while I wait with DD. When they get back....you swap places with DW and then can ride the ride again with DS. This way, your older sibling can ride the ride twice in 15 minutes!

Since I grew up in the age of video games.....I will say that this ride is one of the most coolest ride at Disneyland. It pretty much is a huge video game......and really cool if not ingenius. My top score on the ride was 177000+ points over 2 tries.

Totally agree. It's like a super upgraded version of Duck Hunt!

Quick questions... Is there a FASTPASS for TSMM? Has anyone been at CA at park opening - just thinking the lines would have to be the shortest then, wouldn't they? If you head there first thing? We have annual passes, but haven't been since they opened the new ride. Thank you!!

No, dont' count on this. According to Ridemax they stage guests then after park open they walk you to the ride line. So even if you arrive early you still have to wait. Apparently lines die down a bit between 2-6. go figure. :confused3

What is the minimum height?

There is no height restriction for this attraction, but there is also no lap sitting allowed. So a child must be able to sit up and support him/herself and you should feel comfortable with them in the bar restraint.

Personally, I wouldn't take a child under 2 on the ride.

Quest4kingdom-I love your optimism! Here I am reading this thread and thinking, "Oh my goodness, I don't want to wait for an hour." And here you are sweetly saying, "oh, not too bad." Optimism is contagious so thanks for sharing it! ::yes:: Besides, we aren't going until November so maybe the lines will be a wee bit shorter. ;)

Yes! We too are trying for later, just try to avoid Thanksgiving Week/End if possible since Holidays are still given to be busy, and at least the heat shouldn't be so bad by then! I heard the TSMM line looks quite fun too (no more details since i don't want to spoil it!) Have fun!

There is no height limit so in essence not really a child sawp...

Also they did put up umbrellas in the wait area. They did not have that the Saturday that it opened.. Went for the 2nd time yesterday.

Great ride and totally worth the 45-60 min. wait.. Would rather wait for this than the submarines. DD 3.5 loved it.. and wanted to ride it again as soon as we got off.

FYI. there is agiant potato head while you are waiting in line. MY DD isnt too fond of him.. So we had to be careful how we shielded her.
