Can ya'll help me find transportation alternatives between parks and our hotel and the parks? We are staying at the BLT and plan to walk to/from Magic Kingdom and utilize the monorail service for Epcot. In 2009, I had a horrendous time trying to stand and ride on the bus to AK and HS. We leave for our vacation in a few days and this time we are taking a double jogging stroller and a single jogging stroller for our 2, 4, and 6 year olds. I dread the bruises from the stroller banging into my thighs on the bus rides. What are the best transportation routes? We have never taken a boat between parks/resorts. Is there a boat between HS and Epcot? We have a park hopper so any transportation tips are appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Assuming Disney Transportation ONLY...

MK:
Walk, monorail, motorlaunch

EC:
Monorail

DHS:
Monorail to EC, walk to International Gateway, boat to DHS

AK:
You're not getting there.

I suggest renting a car if you want to totally avoid busses. If there's a problem on the monorail line, they'll push people to the busses.

To AK you will either need to take a bus, taxi, or rent a car.

You can get from Epcot to DHS via boat. Exit Epcot through the International Gateway (between England and France). The boat is right there. You can also walk to DHS from Epcot...again exit the International Gateway, and follow the path. It is probably a bit shorter if you turn left towards the Boardwalk and keep following the path to DHS. You could also walk straight past the Beach and Yacht Club and re-join the path at the other end of the Boardwalk.

Take a cab to DHS and AK. You would really waste a lot of time doing DHS any other Disney transportation way than the buses.

My family doesn't use the buses a lot at all but I have never had to stand on the bus. If the bus arrives and gets filled up, you can just wait for the next bus - no need to stand.

Outside of renting a car or using taxis there is no realistic way to avoid the buses. And with 3 kids and a bunch of strollers you may not even fit into 1 taxi. You may need 2.

The only way to get from Epcot to the Disney Studios is to walk. And going to Epcot on the monorail you would then have to walk thru the whole of Epcot, out the International Gateway, and around the lagoon all the way to the Studios. That is quite a hike!

I agree with the poster who suggests waiting for another bus if one comes that is standing room only, and you don't want to stand. Otherwise, unless you rent a car, you need to deal with the reality of using Disney transportation. And buses are a huge part of getting around on Disney property. Unless you rent a car, you won't be able to totally avoid them.

I agree, it was only about 7 minutes the longest wait for the next bus when we were down last week. I would stick to buses and if not the first on and place strollers by the doors in the middle, wait the extra minutes. Even a rental car is not as easy. We had our own car with us and for the week rode the bus. Even too the ADR's we had, we were just in that park for the event we went to.
