Trouble with National's Website

Anyone else have these types of problems with National Car's website?

1) When I go to modify an existing ressie, it automatically resents my departure date to the 1st of whatever month is in the original ressie (ex: for an existing ressie 9/30-10/3, if I modify it it defaults to a 9/1 pick up)

2) After I make modifications (or sometimes if I make no modifications and just want to reprice) it acts like it's loading a page with the orig and modified quotes (you know, the page where you compare them side by side) and it brings up a blank page that just says "done" in the bottom bar of the web browser.

Are these National glitches or are there things I can tweak in my browser (Firefox 1.0.5.7) to fix it?

Thanks - Jackie

I had a terrible time yesterday with National's website. It seemed very "buggy" .... Hopefully it will be fixed soon!

Jackie,
It will always default to a different date, usually the present date. It does not know if you are going to modify the date too. :)
Sometimes it does just come up blank and saying done. But, then again, lots of sites do that. It is not your browser or Firefox, it is just the way the data gets transmitted. Just a little glitch, a pain yes, but, nothing you can do except hit refresh and start again.
Just a hint, if you want to reprice, don't modify. All too often, it will keep your original rate. It is better to do an entirely new reservation and see if there is a difference. I have had times when I have seen my "price" drop by 20.00 or more in a new ressie, but, remain the same when I try to modify it.

Thanks everyone! I figured there was nothing to be done so I will just keep at it.

Thanks too for the tip to book new and not modify - on other threads people said it didn't matter so I took the lazy way out - I'll be sure to try from scratch and see if there's a drop.

National is very quirky.

Yes, ALWAYS do a new ressie. AND clear your cookies on your computer.

It sounds silly, but I became a believer many years ago. It seems that if you are checking prices using different contract numbers for example, the cookies on your computer seem to influence (override?) the subsequent prices (usually keeping the price the same). I would clear the cookies on the computer, put in the exact same imformation, and the price would go down.
