Just wanted to share our trip report from earlier this month to let everyone know what a great time was had!!!. It was just the two of us this time(last trip in Jan 'o8 DD was married at Disney and we had 20 guests with us!!) We arrived early Sun AM on 10/5 using ME No problems- the bus was there and we arrived at SSR in about 30 min. Went to check in - room wasn't ready. We had reserved a car for 1 day from Alamo at the Dolphin so we could go do our shopping and fill our NEW OWNER's LOCKER(by the way that thing is wayyy cooool!!!). We picked up our car ,did our shopping and had a quick lunch. Room ready at 3:30 and was it worth the wait!! One Bedroom Congress Park with a DDT view. Hadn't had much luck in the past few trips with requests but this time it was PERFECT.! Our Owners Locker was waiting for us at bell sevices. Our room was VERY CLEAN and it smelled so fresh. Everything was in order except the one tv remote was dead. Didn't care but we left a note on it at checkout that it needed batteries. The parks weren't too crowded and as we have been going a few times a year we just do it at a leisurely pace. That's what we love about DVC!!! Went to see BLT- really wanna buy it - We love the 1 bedroom- MAYBE we will !!! We do have addonitis again!!! The week was great - a little rain here and there but it was mostly sunny. Did the pool in the AM and parks in PM.
Some highlights- Food and Wine was terrific. We tasted everything- we used a Disney gift card and and when it was empty we were done- we did it in two nights- Everything was good- loved the escargot, pistachio baklava, gumbo, shrimp- I could go on and on. Went to Kona for lunch one day as we made our way over to the Wedding Pavillion and Grand Floridian to reminicse about our daughter's wedding!! and what a lunch we had. It was absolutely delicious. We had the fish tacos(tasted like those in Hawaii!) and the coconut dessert. Service was a little slow but our CM waitress was very nice and even the manager brought our food and asked us if there was anything we needed- nice touch. It was a great meal. We also ate at THE WAVE as we were celebrating our OCT birthdays. It was also very good and we liked the atmosphere. It was a later ressie (8:30) and wasn't crowded. We shared the crabcake appy which was good. DH had the lamb and DW had the filet- yum!!! We both got different desset trios and shared some of each and all were tasty. After dinner we went to find the monorail and started wandering around thinking about how neat it is in there and if we only owned some BLT points LOL!!! we went outside by the lake/pool area and we were surprised by fireworks from MK on one side and Electrical Water Pageant on the lake. We were truley surrounded by DISNEY MAGIC!!!! We had to leave on Fri and when we checked out we spent the whole day relaxing at the pool. Just a funny note on our Owners Locker - we stuffed it full!!. It'll be great next trip not to have to bring any of that stuff! It was a great trip. Looking forward to our next trip home when we meet our DD and SonIL( who live in England) at the BWV in Jan for their First Anniversary trip. Also planned two more -SSR in JUly(just us) and our other home AKV in Oct with DS and SisIL for F&W. Our kids are in their 20"s and are really lovin DVC for their vacas too!!! Only bus problem we had was on the night of MNSHP we had to wait 40 min for a bus to DHS cuz they had soo many buses going to MK for the party. Other than that bus service was fine. When we got home we had a an email that our Owners Locker was back safe and sound. That is a great thing to have. Can't wait till Jan to be HOME AGAIN!!!!::
