Ok. This is an idea for a trip to WDW for a couple who asked me to help them plan. I let them look at the WDW DVD and look at the WDW website to see what rides/shows they would like to see/ride:rolleyes:

Day 1: Arrive AKV 10 am. Visit AK then drive to Publix to get food for room.
Day 2: AM massage 6 pm La Nouba.
Day 3: Ak Breakfast at Donald's . Then KS,EE,Nemo and maybe FOTLK
Day 4: Relax poolside. Return to AK to rides missed the day before
Day 5: Check out AKV move to BLT Breakfast at CP
Day 6: Epcot Dinner at Tutto 7pm watch Illuimations
Day 7: Tour resorts around monorail. Maybe visit MK
Day8: MGM Fantasmic Dinner package (you get an appetizer with dinner) Fantasmic
Day 9: Head home:guilty:

So, What do you think? This is planned for possibly Jan 11 just after new years.
Thanks for your help.:wizard:

Sounds like a good relaxing trip plan...the only questions i would throw out there #1 2 days at AK? i would think a second day at Epcot would be better spent...so much to do there. # 2 No downtown Disney? besides those questions, sign me up!!!

Have they been to Disney before? Epcot is my favorite -so I would vote for more time there. Rides one day and countries a different day? Can they take advantage of MK morning magic hours - usually TH mornings - so they can hit all the major attractions? Just seems a little AK heavy, but maybe that's their favorite - I'm just biased towards Epcot!:goodvibes Great amount fo relaxing time though - which one can't forget about on vacation - even if that vacation is Disney!

This is a "rough" draft. Just looking at the ideas they wrote down for what they wanted to see/do. 4-6 day park pass and relaxing was a must. :lmao::worship: They far as WDW virgins :scared1: YES:hug: I have til late July for 180 day for ADR's. So I have time to tinker. I have them when they can look at You Tube videos to see if they want to see or ride it. The y know of my first time Camando trip in July 2003:mad::headache::scared1: Thank you anyway

Looks like day 5 is a change to BLT for lodging, with not much else planned. Good opportunity to visit MK (IMHO a must for new visitors), do some things and watch Wishes in the evening (need to check calendar to see what nights have fireworks that time of year). They may be able to watch from TOTWL (members, points?), but nothing beats seeing it in the park. I agree that more Epcot time would be good; I love AK, but looks like they have more than enough time there.

They want to watch Wishes from the top of BLT. And looks like a good day at MK. Thanks. Just remember, it's a vacation not a GO GO GO GO GOcation LOL:laughing::rotfl:

Just curious why if this is a relaxing vacation, you would have them changing resorts mid trip? I find moving day to be anything but relaxing, and remember that they will basically be homeless for 5-6 hours on moving day.

Count me as another who thinks they should do more than 1 day at Epcot. I'd probably skip MK altogether, but Epcot sounds like a good match for them.

I wasn't impressed with Tutto Italia. I would change that to a 7:30 reservation at Rose & Crown.

My advice is to ALWAYS check out the best days on touringplans.com, go to the parks early (rope drop if possible) and leave about noon or 1pm, and then come back after chilling out in the room or at the pool.

Dh and I were disappointed on the trip that we finally decided to sleep in and chill out. We stayed at WL on that trip. We waited longer for busses and boats and had to fight the crowds. IF they haven't been to Disney before they will be disappointed that they spent so much for admission and didn't get to see much. They can still relax and chill...just not at 9am!!!

Instead of changing resorts, I would reserve BCV or BWV for the entire trip. I've not seen Wishes in person from BLT but I have watched them from the beach at the Poly. I would suggest the best place for newbies to watch wishes would be from the hub with Walt and Mickey or perhaps from the balcony at the train station.

I agree that one day at Epcot is just not enough.

I was sort of thinking the same thing. Park tix are a lot of $ to hardly go to the parks. We like to wing it more. As much of a planner as I am the only thing we plan for a week are about 3-4 ADR's. We like to be flexible with which park on what day and we like to park hop. If there's a 30% chance of storms for one day then that may be better than a day with a 60% chance for catching Fantasmic. Of course if you're doing a dinner pkg. that eliminates that flexibility. I also would not resort hop for a trip that's less than 10 days.

Over planning can also kill spontaneity. We like to plan our ADRs and park days well in advance, and forget about it.

After six months...its all new again. :confused3 Call it one of the perks of middle age.

I wouldn't over plan for them either.

I think its more important for them to know the ins and outs over telling them DO go to the Carousel of Progress and DON'T go see Stitch. My sister hated CoP and loved Stitch! Who knew?

They got DVC and wanted to do CL at AKV and well, that's there choice of the 2 resorts. I'm just going by what they wanted to do. Moving is their choice, not mine. As for the more time at Epcot, they said they really rather not visit a world showcase (I know I know) So, all i'm doing is updating for a week or two then give it to them.

As for planning, I'm not planning too much. They are DVC members and don't want to kill them selves this trip and will come back many more times. They just wanted my ideas since they enjoyed all the information from our past trips. I still need to talk to them this weekend to see if they like the current plan. Thanks everyone.

Wow, they own DVC and they can't figure this out for themselves???:confused3

Are you saying that they bought into DVC and have never been to WDW??

:scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:

I told them about a DVC online event. They talked about going one day (yeah right LOL) They tried to goto WDW last year and it didn't fall through. Work or some thing. They were going to Pop Century. There house is some what Disney themed and you should see their movie collection. Mostly all Disney. VHS, DVD, Blu-ray (and a laser disc too). Then I found out a few weeks ago they became DVC members and wanted our help for there vacation. And yes, they bought in without going.

No kids YET:laughing: But they are planning for them one day :lmao:
