Traveling Turkeys Part 2 11/22/08

Love everyone's travelling turkey! Where can I get one?:confused3

The only place I've ever seen the laundry rooms on the deck plans is in the PassPorter.

Deck 2 - across from 2096
Deck 6 - across from 6588
Deck 7 - across from 7592

PS, I like your little turkey guy. ;)

Thank you Sandy!! I didn't check my passporter (Disney bible) I looked around the deck plans here and didn't see it. I just stole my dad's steamer. Maybe that will be a few less trips to the laundry room! I iron EVERYTHING!!!!

thanks again for my turkey guy!!

Just thought I'd post and make sure everyone notices that my turkey got his legs back!:rotfl: :rotfl: Thanks to all who helped me get that one figured out.

Ken was right--you guys had several pages of posts by the time I got around to checking the DIS today. I hate it that I have to work! I just want to sit around on my computer all day--especially with only 14 days until I get on that airplane!!:cool1:

Hey guys,

I think a stomach bug has hit our house.:sad1: :guilty: :sad2: Or at least 3 of us. I did leave today and get our Tix's from TA:cool1:  :yay: :dance3: Then I went to "The Big Blue Store" (Walmart) and finished shopping for the cruise (I think) I HOPE. Now that I've come home. I really don't feel well. SO I'll say Goodnight, judy, Ken, Sandy, Stacie, Susan, Etc... Like the Waltons

Lora

Passporter has the laundry rooms and just about everything else including what rooms to avoid on certain decks and why, rates all the shore excursions etc. ....it is by far the best book out there for Disney cruises.

Chuck:cool1:

I figured with how much you go to Disney, you wouldn't ever look at a Passporter. I know I had never heard of them until I came to the Dis. I figured I go often enough, why would I need a book? :confused3

Lora,

I'm so sorry your family is ill. I'm not sure this will make you feel any better, but atleast you know if you are all sick now the chances of being sick during the cruise are pretty minimal. I always get worried when we have a big vacation coming up that someone is going to be sick and we won't be able to go or something. I'm sending some pixie dust your way and hoping that whatever it is won't last long.:wizard:

You didn't happen to just be at an Applebee's here in St. Pete? The kid next to us had a stomach bug too. I felt bad for the kid (and her dad who was in the spray zone and cleaning it up), but I was so worried my family would catch it before the cruise. We all have colds, but a stomach bug would be worse.

I hope your family feels better and that everyone else stays healthy.

Hey Shay...Don't let my daughter hear you say that! She's a Disney-know-it-all as well and she's addicted to our Passporter! Maybe that's why she's an "expert".;)

I've learned a lot from the Dis, but I still don't think I'd buy a Passporter. I've got you guys for that. :surfweb: ;)

I agree! I love it here on the DIS :surfweb: and learn so much and fast!! However...the passporter usually travels with DD...and actually she just made me pull it out for her to look through after seeing me respond to you! (Maybe she could have a Disney face-off with Chuck!:lmao: )

As much as we go to Disney, and it's a lot considering we have had premium annual passes for about 10+ years, the passporters are interesting to cross-reference for alternative perspectives...we ctually have the one for the parks too....but for things like shore excursions and which staterooms to avoid, the passporter for the cruise is really good...but again it is all a matter of perspective....while 6588 may be anathema to many of us, for someone who irons everything it may be the best cabin on the boat...

Chuck:cool1:

Though I read the passporter, it is Lisa who orders a fresh one every year to check for updates.

That would be me!!!! I heart ironing!!

I chose my stateroom over a year and a half ago because I actually want to be near the laundry room. I've read posts about people who absolutely do not want to be near them. I think we all have our own idea of what we want, but I do laundry while on vacation (bad, I know;) ), and I don't want to lug it all the way down the hall. I prefer to be close. I don't iron a darn thing though. If it is wrinkled I try Downy Wrinkle Release. If that doesn't work, I wash it one more time and try to remove it quickly from the dryer. If that doesn't work, it goes bye-bye!:rotfl:

He Susan, Glad I could help! Thats what happens when the boss goes away for the day!!

Hey Lora,

Dont take this the wrong way, but being this close to the cruise, I would be glad to get it over with now. My worst nightmare is coming down with the flue bug on November 21:scared1:

Chuck, Premium Annual Passes . . . Man you guys are hard core!!

We always get the seasonal passes. Surveys show that the parks are much hotter and crowded during the summer months and being from Florida, we would always avoid the parks during the peak times. I dont know if you are aware of the seasonal passes, but they are pretty much the same as an annual pass, but they block out the peak times. You should look into it.

Ken, we also have the seasonal passes. We had annual until this year. We only did premium when we lived in Orlando and our first DD was 2. We don't do the water parks enough to justify premium. We only did the annuals because DD's birthday is during blackout times.

Dang, yinz are all very talkative! If this keeps up there will be no room left on the threads to post by the time we sail!

Ken - my boss was away today too. He's gone tomorrow as well (went to West Virginia with his girl friend). He's gone again the 3 days before I leave and has told me that what he doesn't know will not hurt him. He's referring to me leaving early and not coming in at all on Wednesday. I love the guy!:thumbsup2 And it doesn't hurt that he's young and looks like Neil Patrick Harris.

Lora - I hope you all feel better. We had that bug here about 2 weeks ago. If it's the same one it's very short lived. I thought it was food poisoning but then people all around me started dropping like flies. And they didn't eat what I did so it had to be some kind of bug. My DH has a bad cold now and I threatened him within an inch of his life if he gives it to me!

Susan - I was kinda likin' your turkey without legs. He looked like he was trudgin' through snow!

Susan/Suzanne - we need to talk about this laundry obsession you both have. Perhaps some relaxation exercises?:laundy:

Pens are beating the Oilers 5-3.

DH and I just had an "appropriate dress" discussion re: formal and semi formal nights. Now I don't know what to wear.
Judy

We are aware Ken, but the premium include the water parks, ESPN Disney Quest (great if it rains), 1/2 off on miniature golf which DS loves, all the parking etc...and candidly, I have reached the age where I don't care to wait in lines, so if one park is too crowded, we move on to another.....either way, the great thing about any of the passes is that you don't have to spend from rope drop to fireworks worrying about getting maximum bang for the buck, but that is a benefit of geography, ie living in Florida...and most folks who live elsewhere dont have to spend every September wondering how often a hurricane will come so it all balances out.
