Hello,

I am wondering if someone can give me first hand experience traveling from the Polynesian hotel to Epcot? My guidebook says the commute time via monorail is 44 minutes. I believe Tikiman said it was more around 10 minutes but that was written many years ago and I am not sure if stops have been added or what. This will be our first trip to Disney so we're still trying to figure a lot of stuff out! Thanks so much.

the guidebook is doing the monrail at the Polyn - it then stops at GF, MK, CR before TTC.

Tikiman is having you walk over to the TTC and then get on the Epcot monrail.

the walk to the TTC from the Polyn depends upon where you are located. if at the Tahiti (my favorite) is probably 5 minute walk to the Epcot monrail.

if the epcot monrail is there and waiting - maybe 15 minutes to Epcot - it can't go fast any longer. the driver has to assume some people are standing and it speed is based on that - might be 20 mph (it use to go 45 mph)

if you have to wait for one - well add 15 minutes (probably less).

It was MUCH quicker for us last week. From the TTC, I would say it was all of 5 minutes. There was a monorail waiting for us at the Poly. It was really quick.

Micmacmissy,

I don't mean to offend, but 5 minutes? Are you sure? I don't think I've ever made it Epcot in 5 minutes. They must have been hauling butt :scared1:

I agree with about 15 minutes once you board the Monorail at the TTC to Epcot.
We walked to the TTC from the Poly too, and it was a 5 -7 minute walk for us. It was all very quick and a fun commute.

That is around the same time it took my family and I to walk over to the TTC and actually getting to Epcot once the Monorail arrived. We actually just missed the Monorail that was already at the station once we arrived to the TTC, however it was only a 5 minute wait for the next one to arrive.

All of your observations have been so helpful to me. When I read that the Poly to Epcot monorail commute would be 44 minutes in my guidebook, I was starting to second guess our plans to hit Epcot on our first day. Our flight arrives at 7:30 am and we want to get in some touring but not spend close to an hour in transit on the monorail. Fifteen minutes from the TTC sounds much more reasonable so THANKS!!

We were in Rapa Nui and it was maybe a 3 min walk to TTC ( depending on your pace :) ) and the monorail was already there. It can't be but a 5 min ride so it was really quick.
