Years ago Disney provided transportation. Now the options are Mears, Lyft, Uber or Sunshine Transport. Anyone have good or bad experience. Agent shared many have used the Sunshine transport.

Sunshine Flyer was merged into Mears (Orlando).
You can add taxi and private car service to your list.

Post on the transportation board for help. Many are happy with ride share. Install the app a few days before your trip. You may get new user promotions.

We've used multiple options including Mears and Tiffany Town Car, but for our family, taking an Uber is easily the most economical and quickest way to get to our resort. We haven't had any bad experiences, but like I said, Uber is just simplest and cheapest.

Dependent on how many people your group has. We have used Lyft with a family of four cost roughly $43, there was basically no waiting around as we booked as soon as we got off the plane and grabbed luggage. We had a group of seven and used Away We Go which was about $3XX round trip from MCO to DCBR. So private was a bit more but would have paid close using two Lyfts round trip, per family without doing private. We heard stories about waiting for buses to fill etc, and with long flight and travels days getting the kids to resort/ pool is priceless.

We always do Uber, even UberXL if we have a lot of luggage. Not expensive and bring us right where we need to go. Last time we stayed at Caribbean Beach and had our room assignment before arrival and they dropped us off right in front of our building.

If you don’t want to use rideshare, I’ve had good experiences with Tiffany Town Car, and they will do a grocery stop.

How many people, how much luggage and what’s the budget? Mears is like $16/person/way. You can find reviews by searching here. It will be the longest. If you’re a fam of 4 with large suitcases a normal rideshare won’t cut it and an XL might be tight. (After 2 small XL rideshares in a row with luggage shoved on our laps because the cars technically met the seat capacity to be considered XL we switched to car service for our group of 4 adults.) My current car service of choice is Gear Fusion (again search DIS for reviews).

Your “agent” is not knowledgeable if they mentioned Sunshine as an option. They merged with Mears in ‘23. If they guided you on other aspects of this trip like hotels or lightening lanes I would research those things out here to make sure you got good info that is not outdated.

If you want a reasonable price and service similar to Disney's Magical Express then go with Mears Connect.
Its essentially the same service but now you pay for it.
I've used it twice.
First time I had a slightly less desirable experience but decided to try it again and it was on par with DME that time.

I agree, those things will make a difference on what is the 'best', 'fastest' or 'most economical'. Also, if you plan to drive around AFTER you arrive during your vacation to shop/dine/sightsee, then maybe renting a car would be an option as well. If you travel around a lot, using any of those online taxis can get to be pricey.

100% agree, this made me the most concerned out of everything.

We haven't used them yet but found lots of good reviews for GoodRideExpress.
We plan to use them in May. There are 6 of us so size was a concern.
They quoted me $180/round trip for 6 and it will be a large van (not mini van)
I like the idea of 1 vehicle for us and not sharing with others.
Quicker to get us to the resort on arrival and don't have to leave to pick up others on our departure day.

I have used Lyft or Uber (depending on price) for our past several trips and been very happy. I always get and XL since the price difference is usually minimal and I feel safer in a bigger vehicle. It's always been around $33-43 to and from MCO.

Also, Lyft tends to send coupons once you have purchased a ride. For ex 25% off your next ride (with a dollar maximum value).

We’ve used Lyft and Tiffany Towncar. Although we didn’t have any problems with Lyft, I do prefer the car service. They meet you at baggage claim and help with the luggage and they have access to super close parking right outside baggage claim.

I am using GoodRideExpress on the 26th of this month. Riland (owner) and I have already been in contact via email and phone. He wanted to verify some information because I put 2 arriving flight numbers on my reservation. There will be a total of 5 of us including one that needs a car seat.

We have been using Happy Limo for our recent trips and it has worked out well. On occasion we rent a car depending on our plans and who is traveling with us.

We loved Disney’s Magical Express and we still miss it! :worried:

We had some bad experiences with Mears (both before ME existed and afterwards) and decided not to use them again. We didn’t find them to be reliable and that was stressful.

For the first time ever, we rented a car this past weekend. The bus options have become less attractive, Uber XL for our family of 5 approaches $70 each way once tip is included, and we were staying at OKW for the first time, making the car more attractive than it is when you're at the Poly/BCV/BW/WL, where we tend to stay when going to the parks. The car cost us about an extra $100 compared to Uber.

Was it worth it? I don't know. Maybe. But we took advantage of the convenience of the car a few times, and it was really clutch on the way to the airport. We popped over to AKL for less than an hour to eat at The Mara and see the animals, which was an awesome plus at the end of the trip and absolutely not an option with Uber.

Car rental used to be the dramatically more expensive option for us. But for a four-day trip and with the other factors above, it was the right choice this time. Something to consider.

(you will have to wait for at least a few minutes to get a car at MCO but dropoff remains incredibly easy)

Second gear fusion Todd is great and you give your flight info. He’s there waiting for you. Plus the ride back is well worth it so you aren’t sitting at the airport for hours waiting on your flight. Definitely research which is best for you. Also if you have kids in car seats or booster seats. He has them so one less thing to bring with you.
