I need to get my DW to me at WDW from New Orleans but having trouble deciding how. She would prefer to Greyhound to Orlando and have me arrange to get her to the resort but between the ticket and towncar it's cheaper to fly and let DME bring her to the resort. However, she is a bit broad in the beam and VERY sensitive about it. (A meltdown worthy of a two-year-old's temper tantrum comes to mind) Normally when we fly together this isn't a problem as we know we fit in the seats together reasonably well but with a number of "incidents" lately (hello Kevin Smith) she has reservations about being left to fly on her own and possibly being "harassed" about her weight. Does anyone have suggestions for airlines that are a bit more relaxed about oversize passengers or should I go with Greyhound? One last option: Enterprise is the only car rental company I will rent from these days. Do they have an agency that will pick me up at ASSp for a one day rental?

Would she be able to sit in the airplane seat alone without leaning on the next person? If not you should book two seats for her to minimize adverse reactions from others.

There is no absolutely positive way to prevent all nasty comments. Many of tehe general public learned bad manners all the way back in grade school, making fun of Pooh sized classmates.

Southwest Airlines will refund the second seat purchase price if the plane is not fully booked, even if there are two Pooh sized passengers and only one unbooked seat and even if standby passengers fill all the empty seats.

You might want to do a search of this forum and others here for "pooh sized." There are dozens of threads on this topic with a lot of information.

If she can sit in an airplane seat with the armrests down and no "spill over," she should be fine. Otherwise, you need to buy 2 seats or take the bus.

ive never had a problem flying either has my dh (i used to be 363 lbs and im 5'6'' my dh is 6'4'' and about 350) depending on the airline you would have to get an extender but who cares ..ask while boarding when you first walk on the plane they will hand them to you no problem. other then flying do you drive ive used enterprise and got the midsized car or above and it was fine and comfy hth
