Transmeridian out of Syracuse

Just wondering if there's been any recent Upstate New Yorkers who have traveled on Transmeridian lately.

How was the service?
How early did you get to the airport for the 7:40 a.m. flight?
What did they serve for breakfast?
How was the drive from Sanford to Disney?

I'm excited by the idea that I won't have to drive all the way to Albany or Rochester to start my trip.

Can't say anything about TransMeridian, having never flown them.

As a CNY resident, you probably already know this, but ... if travelling with children, feed them before leaving for the airport. Food selections at Syracuse Hancock Airport are lacking, and that's putting it generously. Entertainment options at Hancock are similarly limited, and for an early AM flight, there won't even be much people-watching going on.

We are flying TMA out of Rockford, Illinois on June 24 and the airport is the place you should check about flight time arrivals. Our airport is a smaller, regional one, so we are going to arrive one hour before the flight due to the low volume of other flight traffic that will be there at that time of morning.
We've been told that the trip from Sanford to WDW takes a little over an hour. I've got a stretch limo rented for each way.

We should be at our resort by 11am CST on June 24:tongue: yeah!!:earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsgirl:

We flew TMA in October from Syracuse to Sanford. The flight was on time departing and arrived in Sanford a few minutes early. They passed out containers with juice and muffins in the am and sandwiches and sodas on the night return. We got there about 1 1/2 hours early but probably did not need to be so early. The service was good, and the ride from Sanford is about 20 minutes longer than that of the main airport. Overall, I thought it was great with the direct flights and prices, but I still have concerns over them being a charter and being able to cancel flights at will as they did to so many last year. I am hoping that it was growing pains and newness then and that this will not happen again though.

Thanks. I was following the threads when all the flights were getting cancelled . . .so of course it still makes me a little nervous flying a charter. But, the flight times are great and I love having a non-stop out of Syracuse.

I hate to fly, so I do much better if I only have to go up and down once and then have seven days to recover before I do it again.

Hey C -:D

I am flying them this week - I'll catch up with you when I get back okay. Send me an email or pm with your email addy!

Me:D

I actually feel hypocritical. I blasted them on earlier threads and advised people not to use them if they had a choice due to their cancellations of flights with minimal notice. So what do I do? I booked them for our trip in August for the direct flight and price. If another airline had the same price and flight times/ non stop flights, I would use them instead, but you can't beat the hours they fly.

I flew TMA the week before Easter and will do so again in late June/early July. We had no problems at all. I called to confirm the flights and the time we should arrive, and since the agent said to get there at 5:40, we were there - and had plenty of time. Ditto for the return flight out of Sanford. The breakfast was a blueberry muffin shaped like a mini loaf of bread and a container of yogurt, with a little container of juice in addition to the regular beverage service. Dinner was a sandwich (can't remember if it was turkey or roast beef) and a bag of sun chips, and a small package of cookies (Oreos?). It wasn't fancy, but certainly edible - and better than a sad little bag of pretzels!

I loved the nonstop flight, and the lower price along with real food is a great bonus. Sanford airport is also much more navigable than MCO, and the traffic on 417 beats I-4 hands down. As long as TMA keeps offering this kind of service, I'll keep booking them.
