Transferring resorts - food?

Hey, all!

Hope someone can lend some advice.

This will be our first stay as DVC owners (we've rented before) and our first time considering doing grocery delivery, mainly for breakfast. (I'd loooooove to have coffee & eggs in my PJs without having to get dressed and trek somewhere first thing in the A.M.)

Thing is, we're staying at BCV for the first three mornings, then transferring to BLT for the last four. It's making me not sure what to do about the food situation.

We were going to have Garden Grocer deliver to BCV, but I don't think we'd use it all before transferring to BLT and stuff like eggs and milk would spoil. (If they'd even transfer it for us with our luggage, which I doubt.)

Since Garden Grocer has a $40 minimum, we really don't meet that for two separate grocery deliveries since it's just me and DH. (and with the charges, we might as well have CS breakfast every morning!)

Any advice? Would we be better off just ordering directly from the Disney option to have the stuff put in our room and do one delivery for BCV and one for BLT? I'm starting to lean that way because there's no minimum, though I still hate for the food to go to waste at BCV if we don't use it up before our transfer. :(

We've moved food from BVC to BLT...no issues...bag your groceries according to whether they need refrigeration or not. The not refrig stuff will stay with your luggage and the refrigerated stuff they will put in the luggage room frig and transfer appropriately.

This year will will have a vehicle and will transfer frig stuff by car In a cooler, but since we do have a car, we may try to keep stuff to a minimum as we can shop off site...we have 4 nights at BCV, 8 nights OKW and 2 nights at VGF. Hope to have not much to transfer to VGF...last morning eating at 1900 park Fare and will eat at the parks the last full day...

as PG said, bell services will take care of it for you.
i would just add that the bell services fridge has a freezer area, so let them know which items need to be kept frozen, rather than refrigerated.
we put fridge items in plastic grocery bags, and they are tagged along with our luggage (marking the fridge tagged items).
the perishables will be put in the new resort's fridge, the delivered to your room with luggage.
hth:)

You guys are great! Thanks for the info! :goodvibes:

We're so dang excited to not have to put on clothes and trudge to a cafeteria this trip. :)

Move steps:
Have your items packed and ready for pickup.
On move day call Bell Services to come and pickup your items.
Tell Bell Services which items are to be keep cold and which frozen.
Go check-in to new resort and do whatever you have planned for the day.
When the room is ready and after @ 2-4 go to the room.
Call Bell Services of the check-in resort and they will deliver your items to the room.
You MUST be in the room for both the pickup and delivery.

The only problem is during transport of your stuff. Your new resort won't be the only stop and your refrigerated items/frozen items will not be refrigerated or kept frozen during that time. So if you have a cooler or freezer bag, that will help keep them cold.
