transferring points between DVC members

Is there any risk to this? If you transferred points to someone and they didn't honor the commitment and transfer theirs, could you invalidate the transaction? I am thinking of trying to swap reservations using a home resort advantage. I want to give DVC one more chance by trying BWV next year and I am uncertain what is the best way to do this. Would it be better to just book and try at the seven month mark to switch?

Well your biggest problem is the 1 transfer rule . Once you transfer your points to them they can't transfer theirs back to you.

You would be better off just making the Ressies in each others name if you feel confident enough to trust they won't cancel them on you.

But to do a transfer in either direction you could call MS give them your info then conference in the 3rd party.

Transfers are an irreversible transaction - so once the points have been moved they now belong to the member who controls that contract. DVC will not assist with any disagreement about an irregularity in the transaction.

As noted, you wil be influenced by the one direction -if you transfer points into your account you'll need to wait until your next Use Year to transfer points out of your account.

That's why these boards are great. Totally forgot the one transfer rule and the fact this would be two. I think I'll just leave it to chance that something will be available at BWV at the 7 month mark. It is slow season anyway. I just want to try there before I sell both of my contracts.

You could accomplish two transfers by using 2 different use years.
