Transferring CM memory maker....

My hard drive crashed over Christmas. I have all my pics backed up (we had a brief working respite when I moved everything to an external drive) but like s dumbo I forgot about MM - it was a bit like "oh the house is burning got to save something for everyone before the roof falls in" and moving the pics and music took so long I forgot about programmes

I tried to just put the programme on my new hard drive but it wanted a code and wouldn't find one online. Has anyone had this probelm? I've got supergeek coming next week to put new software on and try to move it across, but any solutions in advacne (I can't switch on the old hard drive, the pwoer supply unit has gone).

Oh my--at least you have the pics backed up! If no one can help pm me. However, you might be able to contact CM and tell them that your computer crased and you can give them the code from your box (if you still have it).

Try inputting the code that came with your MM. If you installed it less than 3 months, you will need to contact Tech Support so they can give you a new code, but if it was more than 3 months ago you should be able to put the old code in. Let me know how that works. If you need me to call Tech Support for you, PM me and let me know.

I put the code from the box but when I tried to validate it came back "not found" - I did put it on a few years ago.

My computer geek is coming next week to get my printer working (the old printer doesn't seem to be recognised by the new hard drive - hope I don't need another printer as well), so hopefully he'll be able to do something - like move my stuff across!

What version MM do you have?

2005 - is that the original? I have updated it over the internet from time to time.

See if you can download at least 2.0 but I would recommend going to 3.0. I think that is the issue first first version is no longer utilized

I'm worried about getting the upgrade and it not working - I'll wait and see if supergeek can at least get it on for me. It was working fine until the PC stopped working
