Trampoline with net

Oh for godsakes, my kids are the most accident prone creatures on earth and almost kill themselves on NON MOTORIZED scooters. I can just imagine what they would do to themselves on a trampoline....

My DD has always wanted one, but I too have heard all of the horror stories. Even though I was quite the daredevil as a kid (yep, only one who would climb all the way to the top of the tree!) I'm not comfortable enough with something like this to allow one at my house. One of her friends has one, and every time she visits there I'm a nail-biting mess 'til she comes home. Of course that's because there's also a pond and a pool and heavy farm and tree-cutting equipment...

Even allowing only 2 at a time isn't safe.

My DD got on a neighbor's trampoline for 5 whole minutes...then was accidentally banded in the nose by the back of the other person's head as she was wriggling under the net to get out. Broke her nose and chipped her tooth.

You'll get stories both ways, but you just can't tell the future. I think they are an accident waiting to happen. Why invite that kind of stuff?

The DIS is very anti-trampoline. I'm not. I think they're a lot of fun. Could a kid get hurt? Yeah. They can also get hurt (and do) playing football or climbing trees or many of the other gazillions of things kids do.

I'll be the one and only person to vote "Yea" on trampolines. :)

LOl you are right on the Dis being anti trampoline.
I am all for them, with proper supervision of course.
Kids can get hurt doing anything.
Would I allow a bunch of kids on at one time HECK no, but plan on getting DS6 one next Christmas. His 20 yr old brother had one for yrs, and we managed to keep him in one piece.. well for the most part .. there was the broken leg from riding his bike but that is another story.

We have had a trampoline for years now, with net, and we are the hit of the neighborhood!!!! It was the best investment ever.

I personally cant wait for the thing to fall apart, it kills my grass :goodvibes I told my DH that the stupid thing will fall apart the day my youngest goes to college :lmao: so Im stuck, she is 11.

Get one, be sensible, have fun

This sounds silly.. but I wonder if it is a southern thing to have one. Almost everyone around here has one if they have school age kids. I think our first one took about 10 yrs to fall apart and yes they are a pain with mowing and hurricane time is the best.. gotta lock them down or it will be through a neighbors window.
