Free Dining isn't available if you stay at the campground, is it?
No, it's not. But people staying at the Cabins and the other resorts, with Free Dining, can use Trail's End as one of their Table Services meals.

And the verdict is..... WE LOVED IT!!!! As I said before, I am a picky eater and I thought that everything was good. The only bad part of dinner was the waitress but that is pretty much luck of the draw. I had a little a everything except the vegetables and I liked it all. I hope that the person that posted in AllEars was just there on a bad night. I may have to write to AllEars and give my opinion. I would say that if you are planning on eating there in the near future, go for it!!!!
Sorry to go OT here, but what the heck...can you bring me down 400 cases of Poland Spring water when you come?
That was mentioned to him...he amended his statement by saying they are going to spend millions at the fort. Sue in Texas (forgot her name here) got him on that.

Actually, I was just amazed that I was comment #2 on that discussion. Usually they're way down the page before I get to the comments section.
And Gatordad, let's not be dissing Jim Hill here. I know he's not perfect, but my world is a better place because he posts on the net. I just wish he'd write more often. I get so tired of the Jim Hill bashers on the internet!

If they put in an Outback, the food will improve and so will the service. Time to renovate the restaurant and put a little effort into crocketts tavern.

No worries, the more people don't like it, the less we have to wait in lineFor those of us that don't mind Trails End, it's a win-win situation...lol
Why should they put more effort into the trails end if the people aren't paying for it a la carte. The servers move slower knowing they get their automatic gratuity. The food isn't as good, because what refund do they have to give you when you really didn't pay for it..... it's those who actually have to reach into their wallets that suffer. That's why I boycott it, I'd rather go to Outback or another sit down restaurant.
Well, I haven't officially eaten there in MANY years. Once many years ago when we stayed in the cabins..which were then called trailers. Which is what they still really are, but with cabin exteriors! When we did..it was cafateria style, and it wasn't anything to write home about. The server was down right nasty and annoyed when we asked her a question. Now, I was hoping that all that had changed, as I've seen some good reviews in the past. We did like Crocketts tavern..but at that time, it offered a WHOLE lot more, and I think it was also much larger than what it appeared to be when we biked through the Fort last May.
I'm with ya on this one...they should put more effort into the tavern, and make it more like a Boulder Creek, or an Outback. I say FW needs a good counter service option like the Roaring Forks at the WL.
The trails end set up, while I know some people like it..seems kind of dated to me.
The restrictions they are putting on the take out, are making it less of a value, than some have said it once was also.
