Trading Spaces- right now HORRIBLE!

OMG. I hate this Trading Spaces!! This is the first time Ive watched since Paige came back and YUCK!!! Between the stupidly giggling Asian guy and the full-of-herself old blond boss.... I could puke! Not to mention the tubes/empty rolls in that room. Just horrible, the whole show! Is it REALLY BAD or have I simply lost my taste for the show?

Honestly, I didn't know this show was still on. It used to be my Saturday night tv. I stopped watching several years ago because of Hilde. I think after she put feathers all over the wall (how spiteful), or was it painting a mural of herself, or hanging 45 albums all over a room. I have rarely liked one single room they've done- except Vern (and that's been a long time ago). Haven't watched it in years.

By the way for long time watchers - do you remember "I HATE BROWN!!!"

Yep, typical Hilde, I've gotten to where I wont watch Doug and Hilde on trading spaces - they are there to provide DRAMA and that's it -

both Hilde and Doug can do beautiful rooms, but they chose not to - and the stupid things they do to the rooms cost $1,000s to correct - not to mention hours!! (she did the hay on the walls, she did broken glass in a fireplace, she did rubber "O" rings nailed to the wall, the record LP's nailed to the walls - how many nails she puts in walls and laughs at it!!

ridiculous - I wont watch - I know if ratings go down when she's on, then she comes and "redeems" herself and does a "pretty" room - she went to Europe on a vacation,b rought back fabric and did the prettiest bedroom I'd ever seen!! I was in shock!! and then... *DUH one reason she does this - flowers hot glue gunned to walls, wine labels glued to walls where the homeowners did NOT drink because they were against alcohol!! so disrespectful that's Hilde!!

but you get the company line "we knew what we were signing up for it's still a wonderful experience... yada yada"

Oh, I cannot stand Hilde, I'm sorry.. I remember all those shows mentioned above, they've all been horrible...

I like Doug MOST of the time though, but my favorite guy is the older balding guy whose name is NOT coming to me only because I'm trying to remember it, UGH.... I also like VERN....

I think things on the show went South when Paige left and then Ty.....

Hilde was on tonight, and did an ugly thing to the wlls as usual... but she wasnt even close to the most annoying part! Gag.

Frank is the older guy. I really like him and Vern. The two of them usually do a good job. I would quit if Hilde showed up at my house. she is horrible. the hay episode was the worst. I am pretty sure the kids were allergic and the friends begged her not to put it up.
They just don't care and are going for the shock value.

Could he have been any more annoying? I wanted to reach into my TV, wrap my hands around his neck, shake him, and scream "It's not funny!" I didn't dislike his room, but there is no way I'd be able to work with him. What what was with the rats and fire hydrants in his wallpaper?

Hildy hasn't changed. her room was terrible. Who in their right mind thinks it is in good taste to nail cardboard tubes to the walls and glue tissue paper on top of them???? When DH and I used to watch, we always said that she was the reason we'd never sign up to be on the show. I would if came home to hay, cardboard tube, etc. I don't think I've ever liked one of her rooms.

Tonight was the first night I've watched since it came back with Paige. It's been a couple years since I've seen it. I think this will be the last time.

You are talking about Frank.My DH met him and said he was just Awesome and so nice. HE signed Trading spaces shirts and hats and give them to DH.

You're right, it's Frank, I don't know why I couldn't remember that!!! Ugh!!!

I havent watched it in long time.

I just remember the one show when the home owners came in, the woman left crying and man said " I see ALOT of firewood"
I think it was a room Doug did and actually I did like the room.

I was excited to see Paige back then I watched the first show!
It was an ex husband and wife fixing each others bedrooms! She was remarried! No WAY! That was enough for me.

On a side note. Trading spaces once did a family room in a house that my sister used to live in, it was funny to see a room I actually knew transformed. At least they did a nice job on that one.

The one where she put sand all over the floor of the room and then painted the walls in red and yellow stripes was pretty bad too. The worst part was it wasn't even nice soft white sand. It was the ugly brown river sand.

Another hideous Hildy room. What's with that woman??? I think she really enjoys leaving the homeowner with something she tries sell as "sophisticated" but what is actually just ugly.

Note-I've never gotten over her "let's stick dry moss over the whole wall" design a few years back. Just awful!!!

Oh, that giggling designer - how annoying! At least the homeowners were good sports about the room when it was done. It turned out better than I thought it would. DH pointed out that you couldn't tell where the windows were in that bedroom. Why do they cover entire walls with fabric? Don't they ever let the sun in?

Personally, I really used to like Trading Spaces, but it seems as though it has lost it's magic the second time around. Paige seems like her spirit is broken or something, I can't quite figure out what it is, but it's just not the same upbeat feeling that I used to get from her.

Contrary to popular opinion, I really like Goil - the new Asian guy. He was on Top Design, and I really think he is talented, and a very sweet and innocent guy.

Hilde needs to be sued for what she has done. Her latest abomination almost made me cry - I LOVED the room before, I mean, I thought it was perfect. When she put those fabric tubes up, I was yelling at the TV, "Nooooooooooo!" It's really going to take awhile to undo that room. And that assistant is totally fired!

Last time she was on I really disliked the rubber rings on the was too.

It's nice they get a $500 gift card, but that's not going to go far when they have to remove and patch to fix an entirely damaged room.

Hopefully it will pick up in the next couple of weeks, or I may not watch any longer.
