Noccalula Falls is located on Lookout Mtn in Gadsden, AL. It is a little hidden gem of a place in the middle of a developed area. Schools, fast food, gas stations, etc surround the park, but a short hike down into the gorge seems like a deep wilderness. The park itself is a collection of gardens, wildlife exhibits, pioneer village, petting zoo, wedding chapel, mini golf, campground, etc, etc. I have lived in Gadsden my entire life, and over time have took this place for granted. Recently, we have started appreciating more what we have in our backyard.

The campground is located on the other side of the gorge from all of the other attractions. Tall pines provide plenty of shade, and the sound of the rushing white water fills the air (when water levels are adequate). The full hook up sites have 30/50 amp power, sewer/water, cable, concrete pad, and picnic table. There are 2 comfort stations, 1 picnic pavilion, pool, and a nice playground. Full hook up sites are $21 per night.

Some pics of the full hook up area. I apologize for the crappy phone pics, but I left the Nikon at home.

The buildings in the pioneer village were purchased from all over the region and moved here. Only a small portion of them are shown here.

There is also a lion enclosure, but I didn't get a pic of it.

Look, a kiddie train! Reminds me a bit of the Fort

It's definitely not the Fort, but it really is a nice place for a weekend getaway. Combine it with a few nights at DeSoto state park and Guntersville state park, and one could definitely make a week out of it.

Thanks for looking.

Looks like a nice place!! We'll have to try it sometime.

Looks awesome! Thanks for sharing. I am always looking for places within a few hours of us to camp at.
