Toystoryduo's Journal....Moving Forward From Here

Tracy, I am glad the appt. went well, we'll keep fingers crossed and prayer said that they do the laser procedure. Not sure of any similarities, but I had my gall bladder surgically/laser removed when Matthew was a month old and I was shocked at how quickly I bounced back.

I hope you got a nap in today, you need your rest. I know you are under a lot of stress right now.:hug:

Thanks ladies!:grouphug: To be honest, I'm not looking forward to surgery. I am very thankful that it is a relatively simple procedure and one that has a short recovery period, but I'm still nervous about it though. :blush:

My DH and I have been having some good conversations the past few days. :goodvibes We're working on getting on the same page about our goals, weight loss, finances, e.t.c.

Today's Plan:
* School
* Surveys
* Work for DH
* Work on Christmas Budget

I hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday!:grouphug:

I think it is totally normal to be nervous about surgery even if it is considered "minor." Just try to focus on how great it will be to have it taken care of so you don't have to think about it anymore.

Christmas Budget time already. Wow! It always seems to sneak up on me. Good for you for being so organized and planning ahead.

Tracy, you would not be normal if you didn't have worries. I am not sure there is any such thing as routine or minor surgery when its your body being operated on! One thing about it, once its behind you, you'll be relieved and your hubby and kids can wait on you hand and foot while you recover! Just know we are all here for you and keeping you in our prayers for a speedy and quick recovery and not too much stress beforehand. But yeah, whenever I have had to have a surgery, its been easier said than done not to worry!:hug:

Yay for good talks with your dh!!:goodvibes

Thanks ladies. :grouphug:

Not too much to report today....DH was called into work @ 1:30 a.m. because some equipment broke. Once he got home from work, I think he only had about 4-4.5 hours of sleep. He's working on another project right now and I bet he is exhausted. :(

School is done for the day and I can't get any surveys at SR so I've been DISing off and on. I think I'll head outside in a few minutes though...The sun is out, it's 70 degrees, and I've got a book I want to read!:goodvibes

We've got a busy weekend ahead...DD9 has a soccer tournament and our favorite rummage sale of the year is this weekend. We're also going to work on cleaning the garage and listing stuff on Craigslist as well.

Hope everyone has a nice evening!:grouphug:

Trying to see if my my new ticker in my signature works.....

edited to add..... Yep, it does!!!:cheer2:

Hi Tracy- 70 and sunny sounds good- we have been having torential downpours and wind ofr 2 days now- not good for running I must say.

Good luck to your DDs team- I miss those days!

What book are you reading?

Linda

Thanks Linda. :hug: I'm sorry to hear about all of the rain that you have been having. I hope the sun comes out for you soon! :sunny:

Yesterday was a nice day. It was a relaxed, slow moving kind of day. :goodvibes I got school done, laundry done, and I even had a chance to sit out on the porch and read for a couple of hours. (I'm re-reading The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey. )

Today will be a bit busier here....School, work for DH, coffee with a friend, and game 1 of DD9's soccer tournament.

I found out that our favorite rummage sale of the year is actually next weekend. Usually, it's the first weekend in October, but for some reason, it's the second weekend in October this year. I'm kind of bummed that it's not this weekend, but on the bright side, I'll have a few extra dollars available to spend next weekend. :thumbsup2

I weighed in this morning and I am down .1 from my last weigh-in in September. Better than nothing I guess. ;)

I hope everyone has a nice weekend!:grouphug:

A sunny afternoon outside with a book sounds great! Plus it sounds like your book will help you toward your "money management' goals so it was a productive afternoon too!

Good luck to your DD in her tournament.

Tracy, that day sounds wonderful! I don't know about you, but I am trying to soak up as much warm weather and sunshine as I can before it all goes away! Wow your trip is close! Are you staying at BC again this time? What are your plans while there?

A loss after all you have had going on and so soon after a vacation is great!

A few extra dollars to spend at that sale is a good thing. Glad you found out before you went over there ready to shop!

Have a great weekend.

Oh, and I love that Dave Ramsey book. I am rereading the Leslie Sansone book a very dear friend of mine gave me.;):hug: Maybe I'll do Dave's book again too. Love that book, it really helped dh and I although I am not sure Dave would approve of our Disney addiction! But at least we now pay cash for our trips.

Thanks Lola and Amy! :grouphug:

DD9s first soccer game of the tournament ended in a tie: 0-0! :thumbsup2 The girls were so happy!:cheer2: It was a tough game for them and they really hung in there until the last minute ticked down. Great job, ladies!!:cheer2:

It is raining off and on here so DD8 and I have decided to skip the first game today and see how the weather is for the next two. I've got coffee on for my DH and some hot tea waiting for my DD when they get home. I've also got some towels warming up in the dryer as well.

After the games are done, we'll head out to do a little bit of Christmas shopping and get a couple of things that I need at the grocery store for tomorrow's dinner. Then, it's home to relax!:cloud9: We're postponing cleaning the garage until the weather improves.

I probably won't have time to do a trip report...Time is getting away from me already. My next post will have our trip highlights.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!:grouphug:

Trip Highlights:

Sea World:

* We loved the pet show! Very cute!
* The Shamu show was good, but sad. The fact that they are not allowing the trainers in the water with the whales is a reminder of the tragedy that happened earlier this year. :sad1:
* Loved A'llure! It was Cirque du Soleil like.
* The Whale and Dolphin show was a lot of fun! Lots of tricks and stunts and divers as well.
* The Seal and Otter show was hysterical! There is a mime at the beginning of the show that is really funny. Plus, the animals' performances were a bit off that day and it was so funny to see the human actors try and change the script as they went along.

Epcot:
* We slept in and went to Epcot a bit later than usual. It was an EMH day that day so we knew we had a little extra time to enjoy the park.
* We ate at Sunshine Seasons (?) and at Le Cellier. YUMMY!!! And wonderful service at Le Cellier!
* We rode Spaceship Earth, Living with the Land, Maelstrom, and DH and the kids rode Test Track. ( I figured that with having the kidney stent, that might not be a good idea for me.)
* We did a lot of resting, relaxing, and enjoying World Showcase.
* We enjoyed the American Adventure and Illuminations right after.

POP:

* We didn't get a re-furbished room, but we liked the room all the same.
* The kids loved swimming at night! DH and I loved sitting by the pool and talking.
* The girls met a girl from Canada who they hung out with at the pool throughout the week. At the end of the week, they exchanged addresses with her and may become pen pals.
* We had a blast playing in the arcade. (Yes, I said "we". ;) )
* The food was great!

FOOD:

* We tried Narcoossee's and Whispering Canyon for the first time. The food at both places was AMAZING! We had a lot of fun at Whispering Canyon with our waiter. Just to give you an example of our interaction with him...My DH's cell phone rang and our waiter goes into the middle of the restaurant and yells, "Hey everyone!!! Be quiet! This gentleman has a phone call he has to take!" Our kids were ROTFL! :rotfl:

* We enjoyed our meals at Kona, Chef Mickey's, Turf Club, and Boma. This is the first time in 4 visits that we have had outstanding service at Boma. :banana:

Overall:

* We had a great trip. It was a different kind of trip for us because I really had to take it easy. My DH really stepped up and got things ready for our trip, stopped as often as necessary on the way there and on the way back, and did all of the running around while we were in Florida.

* We enjoyed a surprise visit from my DH's cousin and family. They came to see us the weekend of my birthday. We went to Old Town and then they took us to Olive Garden for dinner. We had a BLAST! :dance3:

* Disney was Disney. :cloud9: All of the CMs we met were very nice and we even met a few from Ohio! We enjoyed our dining experiences and our time in Epcot immensely. My DH commented that he thinks that Disney is falling behind on sprucing things up, but I didn't notice it as much as he did.

We had a great time in the world and can't wait to go back!!!! :cool1:

Not having the best of days here. :(

* I've spent most of the day dealing with non paying contractors again. :( Most of the money that is owed to us should have been paid before we left for WDW or while we were gone at the latest. :eek: It makes trying to budget VERY difficult. :(

* My DDs have been arguing all day today. :mad:

* It's cold, rainy, and dreary. :umbrella:

* TOM is here. :crazy2: Need I say more? ;)

I am hoping tomorrow is a much better day. :wizard:

Have a nice evening everyone!:grouphug:

Thank you for posting the trip highlights. I love to read about experiences at/around Disney. I have to try to get to Sea World with DD sometime soon. I think she would really like it.

Sorry to hear yesterday was a dreary day for you. :hug: I hope to day is looking much brighter. :goodvibes

Hi Tracy
Glad the trip went well.I love Pets Ahoy at Sea World- just amazing.

Ya this weather needs to go- no rain all summer now it won't stop.

Thumbs up for your DH in Florida! My DH leaves for a convention on Monday at CSR for 4 days- boohoo!

Hope you have a better day and your girls get along better- must be cabin fever.

Linda

Tracy, I hope your week is improving! Maybe the sun is shining today is Ohio. It is in NJ after several days of rain and gloom.

I enjoyed your trip highlights and reading it makes me want to go back again. Our 1 night stay just didn't cut it for me.

Have yourself a really great day. Enjoy!

Tracy, love the trip details! Dd and I loved Sea World and enjoyed all the shows you did. I really want to go back. And that must be so strange to not have the trainers in the tank with the whales. Such a tragedy.

I really wanted to try Narcoose's this time but couldn't get a time that worked so we are going back to Yachtsmen for our two ts meal. Maybe next time!

So glad you had time to relax and rest up and also just enjoy your dh andthe kids. That is what Disney is all about.

So where are you staying in December?

I hope your week is improving and I hope those contractors pay up!:mad:

Quick post-

We are getting ready to head out to the big rummage sale!:banana: Last year, we spent around $10 and got several bags filled with clothes that my DH, my girls, my MIL, my BIL, my future SIL, and I all could use. I am hoping for more blessings today!:goodvibes

I'll update later! :wave:
