Toystoryduo's Journal....Moving Forward From Here

Congrats on the no buy day Tracy. :thumbsup2

I hope you got some sleep last night and feel better today. :goodvibes

Thanks ladies. :grouphug:

Today has been a rough day. :( The puppy went potty in the house three times (after having been outside for 10 minutes each time! :headache: ), the girls are arguing constantly, my DH is grumpy, and the snow is falling. UGH! :(

I was so stressed out, I was craving my fave comfort food, mashed potatoes. So, I made some. The funny thing is that instead of chowing down on them like I normally would, I measured out two servings, added some lowfat cottage cheese on top, and had lunch. That was it...No binge! :banana:

I was still stressed out though so I decided to Zumba. I did two workouts: Zumba Live (55 mins) and Zumba Abs (approx. 20 mins.) and I feel good. More peaceful. Gotta be the endorphins! ;)

Rest of Today's Plan:

* SR
* Finish School
* Work for DH
* NCIS x 2

That's about all from here. Have a great evening! (hugs)

***************************************************

Amy~ The chili was good! :) It didn't last long though. Usually, we have enough for another meal, but that wasn't the case this time. Guess everyone was really hungry! ;)

Deb~ Our focus this month is on writing and writing journals. We have the other normal subjects, but both of my girls could use some improvement in that area so that's our focus for February.

Amy~ I didn't get a chance to nap yesterday. :( We had way too much going on. I hope you get some sunshine and warmer temps out your way that you can send my way soon!:sunny: If not, can you bring back some from WDW for me?:flower3:

Lisa~ Thanks! I did get some sleep last night. :goodvibes

Congrats on the loss, Tracy! You are earning every ounce you're losing, but it is working!

What Zumba tape do you have? DD & I are considering going to get Zumba instructor certified. It is really fun, but we haven't gone to class since we dropped the gym. I'm also considering the WATP walk leader program. I know i'd really like it. But, it isn't cheap!

I still haven't mailed the box to your girls, but it can't be used til there is no snow, so I guess I"m not in a hurry! I wish I could come help you shovel! I truly LOVE snow!

Have a great rest of the week!

Way to go Tracy! Use that frustration for workout energy! Great job on not overdoing it on the potatoes.

Zumba seems to be the newest thing in town- I hear it alot.

Linda

Thanks ladies. :grouphug:

We didn't get as much snow as was predicted last night. I'm not sure if more is coming today or not, but for now, the roads are clear.

Today's Plan:

* Homeschooling
* Library
* Jo Ann Fabrics (Project Linus polar fleece.)
* Lunch?
* Work for DH

Not much else going on at the moment. Looking forward to a 4 day weekend ahead!:banana:

Have a wonderful Wednesday!:hug:

*************************************

Julie~ I love Zumba! It's more like dance and less like a workout. The time always go by so fast for me!:banana: I have the Zumba Live DVD with Zumba Abs. That would be so cool if you and your DD became instructors!:thumbsup2

Linda~ Thanks!:goodvibes Eating a measured amount of potatoes under a huge amount of stress was a major victory for me yesterday!:cheer2: Usually, I'd have 6-8 servings. :eek:

Love that you're focusing on writing and journals! Writing is such a great creative process - and a skill they'll carry for life.

GREAT job on the potatoes..and oy yeah, one of my fave comfort foods too.

Enjoy your 4 day weekend...as for us, we're looking at about a foot of snow by the time this current storm ends...booo!

Hey Traci! Great way to handle the crave! That is a huge achievement and quick thinking on your part.

You are doing awesome. This is our year!:banana:

Great job satisfying that mashed potato craving without going completely overboard! :cool1:

I hope the puppy is finally back to behaving in the house. She probably doesn't like the cold and snow - I know I couldn't go potty outside in those conditions! :lmao:

Thanks ladies. :grouphug:

Yesterday was a good day, but a long one. We didn't get much snow overnight, but it snowed most of the day yesterday. I ended up shoveling two driveways again. The snow wasn't as heavy as last week's but I still got two really good, heart thumping workouts in. I have to say, I'd rather be mowing grass than shoveling snow though!:laughing:

Today's Plan:

* Homeschooling (Test and quiz day)
* Rewards Programs
* Work for DH
* Workout (WATP)
* Work on Project Linus blankets

I've been thinking about my no buy days goal and watching my progress go nowhere. I'm thinking that maybe next month, I will focus on spending a certain amount of money instead of having no buy days. With my DH's schedule and homeschooling and working for my DH, I don't have much time to think out shopping trips in advance. This month, I seem to be forgetting things we need left and right. Oh well. It's a process, right?

Well, that's about all from here. Have a great Thursday!:hug:

Glad you got a bit less snow.....can't believe all the shoveling exercise you are getting! That is a real workout!!

Someday I need to take time to figure out SR. I still haven't done that.

Project Linus ...are you doing it for the Disney 'give/get'? There is NOTHING here in NM. I am BUMMED!!!

Have a great day & hopefully no more snow!!

Are you shopping so often because you find deals that need to be done on certain days? Because if you are saving more $$ by getting deals on those days instead of only shopping on Wed and Sun for example, then you might be coming out ahead even if the # of no buy days is not where you want it to be. If that even makes sense... :confused3

Tracy, I love your mashed potato victory! You are doing so great with your food, attitude and exercise. I am telling you, we may be headed to bikini status sooner than we think!

I am so sorry you are getting so much snow. I hope this pattern you guys are in goes away soon.:hug:

I like the idea of the set amount of money. Even when I stick to my no buy days', I find the "can buy" days seem to cost more than I think they should! It is indeed a process. I find money and weight issues very similar.

Man I don't miss those puppy potting mishaps! But I sure do love having a puppy to love on.;)

Thanks ladies. :grouphug:

I'm glad that our 4 day weekend is finally here, but why does real life have to intervene? :( My DH has two cars he has to work on this weekend and I have to start working on taxes. Oh well. Both things must be done, but let me just say BLAH!!!:headache:

Today's Plan:
* Finish Project Linus blankets for Give a Day/Get a Day
* Start organizing tax info (BLAH!:headache:)
* Library
* Work for DH
* Finish laundry
* Clean bedrooms and bathroom

Tomorrow, we turn our blankets in for Give a Day, Get a Day. Then my DH will work on the cars while I sort tax information. We may go out for dinner tomorrow night if my MIL will babysit.

I weighed in this morning and showed a 1.4 pound loss, which is good, but I realized that I have a very long way to go. Started getting discouraged about that. :(

Well, that's about all from here. Got lots to do today so I better get started! Have a great Friday!:grouphug:

***********************************************

Julie~ Yep, we're doing the blankets for Give a Day, Get a Day. This was the only opportunity in our area that allowed young children to participate. My girls were very interested in volunteering at an animal shelter, but did not meet the age requirement. They were bummed out!

Amy~ Sometimes, I do shop on certain days because of the deals. However, the past week it has been because of lack of planning on my part. For example, we were at the grocery store the other day and I forgot to buy water. (Our tap water is gross!:scared: ) So, the next day, I had to send my DH out to get some. On another day, I forgot milk so the next day my DH had to get some. I just have so much going on right now, I haven't really been able to sit and plan my trips like usual. :(

Amy~ Thanks! :goodvibes I agree...I think money and weight issues are very similar. ::yes:: One of these days, I hope to have peace with both of those issues in my life.:goodvibes

Ah, yes, those little unplanned trips to the store. I hate those! I think you are doing good though, at least you are aware and trying to make small changes. You'll get there! :goodvibes

CONGRATS on the loss! 1.4lbs is great! Don't fret about the big picture, take it one day at a time and you will get there. You didn't get this way overnight, and you won't get back overnight either. You can do it! :cheer2:

Thanks Amy! :hug: I really appreciate your words of encouragement!:goodvibes My heart needed those today. :hug:

It has been a long day....I spent over 7 hours on taxes. :faint: I'm about 75% done. I need to get two more pieces of information from contractors and then I can start plugging the numbers in. I can't wait till they're done!:thumbsup2

My MIL surprised us by taking us to Outback for dinner. We had a nice meal (way too many points! :blush:) and some good conversation.

We're working on the Project Linus blankets right now. We have 1 completely done and 1 almost done. Only 2 more to go!

Hope everyone has a great evening!:grouphug:

hi Tracy
thats great that you satisfied your cravings in such a sensible way :)
congrats on another loss :)
the snow has gone here, but has been replaced with ice :(

Congrats on the lost lbs! Hey, don't let the amount left to lose get you down. You are on your way to where you want to be. Look at it this way, you are actually closer than you were a month ago. Why be depressed about that? 'Tis a good thing!

Remember to set mini goals of 5 or 10 lbs. That way, you can just look at a smaller number at given time.

Remember it is our year!

I love Outback! :lovestruc And hate taxes... :rolleyes1 I'm glad you are almost done with them, that will be a huge relief for you! :goodvibes

HI Tracy. I tried posting Friday and I was almost done and something weird happened. The computer screen flashed a couple of times and suddenly I was back on Amy's thread. :confused3 Then I couldn't post on Disboard. I got off and this is the first I have been back on. It was very weird.

So, I am going to try again. How's it going?

:woohoo: on the loss!:woohoo: Try not focusing on the big picture. Just set a small goal, celebrate and then set another one. Sometimes the big picture can be very overwhelming. When I began training for the 1/2 and I made two miles, I was :yay::banana::cool1: and then I thougt....only 11 more to go:scared1:and ..:eek:and then...:sad2::headache::crazy2: So, I had to focus one mile at a time. When I thought of how far it really was....well, I just had to work on one mile at a time.

Hope you have made progress on the taxes. Oh, taxes...:faint: :yay: MIL took you out to eat. That was very nice of her. :thumbsup2

Did you get the blankets done? I think that is such a great project. And you are knocking out those workouts. :thumbsup2 you go girl. :cheer2: I am very impressed that you turned frustration into a workout, extended one at that. Yay for endorphins!:cheer2:

so what were you all off on Friday for? I know several areas had a four day weekend, but not sure what for. We are off from work for MLK day and the kids are off for Mardi Gras.

I hope you had a great weekend.

Thanks everyone!:grouphug:

It's sunny and 17 degrees here, but the birds are out and chirping!:eek: Didn't the birds get the memo that it's still winter?!?!?:eek: Maybe they know more than the groundhog does and spring really is right around the corner. :thumbsup2 :laughing:

Hope everyone has a great Monday!:wizard:
