Toystoryduo’s Journal: Baby Steps are the Key... Celebrate Each Victory!

Morning friends,

Todays starts the detox/cleanse.... It's only for 7 days so I hope my DH and I can do this.:goodvibes

My weight: 209.6

Not much going on here today... The local school district cancelled school today so I told DD6 that she can have the day off too!:cool1:

Today's Plan:

*Workout (Done! 25 minutes of cardio bursts+weights)

* No homeschool!

* :laundy:

* Cleaning... Today's include cleaning out the eBay container (55 gallon Rubbermaid container) and the girls' toy box. That's it! Baby steps...:tiptoe:

* Meal Planning/ Grocery Store?

That's about all from snowy, cold Ohio! Have a great Monday!

Sounds like a good plan for the day! I won't mention that the high here is going to be 72. Oops, guess I just did!!! :goodvibes

Good luck with the detox. I am just not disciplined enough to try that kind of stuff! :confused3

Hi Tracy
Good luck with the cleansing :)
I'm glad its not just me who thinks this weekend has flown by!!!!!
Hope DH manages to sort the problem!
Whats Disney War about????

Hi Tracy, good luck with the cleanse! I am going to watch with a lot of interest, maybe I need to try that sometime. I'll see how it goes with you ;) ! You are doing so well, I take it that today's day off from school means snow for you? What a bummer, will spring ever arrive! Keep up your hard work, I know you can do it. And I will keep dh and his situation in my thoughts and prayers. If its not one thing in life, its another.

Good evening friends,

Today went quite well although I am super tired!:faint: I still have 2 more cleansing pills to take (all herbal) and I am done for day 1!:cool1:

Today's Food:
B: Orange
L: Salad, 3 Cups of Wedding Soup
D: 2 Cups of Penne Pasta w/ Meat Flavored Sauce
S: 1 wheat pretzel
S: 1 piece of bananna bread (wheat)

As for cleaning the house, I managed to clean the rubbermaid container, the girls' toy box, and the front room. Woohoo! I like this baby steps thing.:goodvibes

I'm going to sit down with Disney War (about the Eisner era and Roy Disney vs. Eisner) and have a few slices of cheddar cheese because I am still hungry, but don't want to eat a lot... I can have cheese on the cleanse as long as it is natural and not processed...

One day down, six more to go!:thumbsup2

Good morning WISH friends,

Last night was tough! :(The cleansing "headache" started and today, I am feeling tired and yucky. This is supposedly due to the toxins coming out of the body... That's what makes this hard. You start feeling bad and immediately want to take something to relieve the symptoms and pain. Only 5.5 more days! :cool1:

Today's Plan:

* Workout

* Homeschool

* Clean Kitchen Countertops off, clean desk off, start organizing DH work orders, start shredding accumulated mail (in 15 minute blocks...)

Today, my DH has to go see our attorney. A bill that we thought had been taken care of was in fact not taken care of and now we have to figure out a way to take care of it. Does that make sense?:confused3 We are both a little stressed out about it, but ultimately know that God is in control. Prayers and good thoughts are much appreciated!:goodvibes

Hope everyone has a great day today! :wave2:

Hi Tracy
Thanks for the strike (heart) just gotta work out how to get it on my sig now!!!
Hope the bill problem gets sorted :hug:
Try to stick with the cleanse, try to think how great you will feel when its done :goodvibes

Tracy, good luck with your cleansing. It is nice that DH is doing it with you. Glad the 15 minute burst cleaning is working for you too. :banana:

:wizard: that the bill situation gets cleared up.

Have a good rest of the week!

Hope the bill thing works out. I know firsthand that is VERY stressful! But, as you know, God is in control.

Good luck with the cleanse. I don't think I'm brave enough!

Hopefully today is going well and you will get a break later.

Good evening friends,

Ever have one of those days where you want to sit down and cry? I am... No huge reason... Just a lot of little things that are bothering me. I am also very tired. That may be contributing to my tears as well.

DH did not get to the lawyer's office today. He'll try to get in tomorrow. I hope something can be worked out. We are praying...

The cleaning is going well, but my kids are still having a hard time remembering to clean up after themselves... It's like trying to shovel snow while there's a blizzard outside.

Speaking of snow, we now have a foot of snow on the ground with more on the way.... :(

Well, I am off for the evening. Have a good Wednesday!:goodvibes

Hi Tracy, I hope you get the bill worked out, that is so stressful. You have a good attitude about it which is half the battle. I'll keep you guys in my prayers, I know this is the last thing you need! I hope your snow melts faster than ours, which over one month later is still in my yard to the tune of about two feet plus some drifts that are over four feet. I HATE winter. When are we moving to Florida??? Also good luck with the cleansing. Seems like when I have done that the first two to three days are hard and then I really begin to feel better. Don't give up Tracy, you can do it! Ever notice how the things you and hubby do together aren't so fun and romantic anymore? Remember when you used to see movies together? Now you cleanse! :rotfl2:

Thanks for the laugh this morning, Amy!:rotfl: :hug:

Good morning WISH friends,

I am 100% completely exhausted... Waking up tired the past few days has not been a good thing. Today, I just feel very blah.... That means I am going to try and listen to my body and relax as much as possible. Maybe some homeschooling, reading, and making Disney posters with the girls. That's about it. (Unless my DH wants to take us out to eat!:rotfl: )

I am a bit worried about the bill thing... We received the bill last year, called the attorney, and thought that he took care of it. He did not. Now, we have a new attorney and I am praying that he remains steadfast and takes care of this issue. I am trying not to let it bother me, but it's hard. We just opened up savings accounts and started paying down debt, and now this.... Why is it that when you're driving along smoothly on the highway of life, the inevitable obstacle gets thrown in the way?:confused3 God is bigger than the obstacle though!:goodvibes

Today is January 31st so I thought I would do my first resolutions update:
My Resolutions for 2007:

1. I want to lose 20-25 pounds before we leave for WDW in September. This is the resolution I have put on the backburner for now. My weight loss has stayed at 1 pound for the month. Hopefully, by focusing on these other areas, the weight will magically disappear.:wizard:

2. I want to build up our savings account. We opened up savings accounts for our DDs and ourselves about a week ago. Planning on adding money to it with every paycheck.

3. I want to pay off as much debt as possible. By the end of February, we will have paid off 2 credit cards!:banana:

4. I want to become a better cook. I want to cook healthy, balanced meals for my family. I don't knwo if I have become a better cook, but I have been cooking: Kielbasa, Beef Tips and Noodles, Roast, Lasagna, Bananna Bread, e.t.c

5. I want to organize my time better. Still working on this.... Turning the TV off has helped a lot. I am focusing on baby steps.

So, all in all, not a bad start to the year. Everything is a work in progress, but at least some progress has been made, even if it's small.

Again, I appreciate any prayers and :wizard: you can send our way. :hug:

Have a great Wednesday!

Wow, Tracy! Only one month into 2007 and you're doing so great with your resolutions already!!

Congrats on the cleansing with your DH. I am 100% positive that the cleansing is what is making you so tired. My nutritionist told me the same thing would happen when I cleansed - and it did. Take it easy this week. Those 15 minute cleaning sessions are perfect. Do them and rest as much as you can in between. Get to bed early and make sure to get enough sleep. After your cleanse is over, and you go into a healthy eating plan....you'll be amazed at all the energy that comes back!

Take care, and good luck with everything else you have going on.

(oh, and I love that you gave your DD the day off when the school system had off for snow - what a great teacher you are!):thumbsup2

Good Morning, Tracy! This is a question that we have been dealing with lately too, as all of our major appliances are starting to declare a strike on us, lol. First the dishwasher, then the microwave, then the furnace, and now as of last weekend, the dryer! :eek: At least I don't have to worry about dry air in the house with the wet clothes hanging everywhere to dry, lol. Ds3 thinks it is fun- kinda like a fort all throughout the house! :rotfl2:

Anyway, my point was, we were just starting to pay down a good bit of debt, and now all of this, plus we started a remodeling project Monday that has incurred expenses that we didn't forsee. I really think sometimes that God gives us these challenges as sort of a way to test us- to see how steadfast we remain in our faith of Him. It seems like when we have been in these situations before, when we remain thankful to Him, and remember the blessings He has given us, somehow it just works out. God is great! :grouphug:

Great job on the baby steps for cleaning too! I am so glad it is working for you! I agree that things can get overwhelming, but when you break it down into small managable pieces, it can be very helpful. Great job!

Also, hope the cleansing is going well; I will have to stop in and see how great you feel when you are done! Yeah for you! :cheer2:

Lisa

Hang in there with the cleansing, I'm sure that is why you feel yucky. All the bad stuff is coming out!!

I hope you get the bill taken care of, that is frustrating when you rely on someone else and they don't follow through...

Thanks Kim, Lisa, and Amy!:hug:

Today was a relaxing day.... We got a lot of homeschooling done and DH did take us out to eat...Nothing else really.....

The next few days will be super busy.... DH has two installs to do, one de-install to do and we have a date night coming up this week!:goodvibes Woohoo!:yay:

I am tired so I am going to close out early... See ya tomorrow!:wave2:

*****************************************************

Kim~ Thank you! I'm glad to know that cleansing can make you tired. I felt so wiped out all day today and was a bit worried. Thanks for your encouragement and support too!:hug:

Lisa~ Thank you so much! Your words certainly blessed my heart today. Thanks for the sunshine too!:hug:

Amy~ Thank you! :hug: It is very frustrating that we have to deal with this, but we are trying to remember that God is in control.

Good morning, dear WISH friend! I hope your "cleansing" headache has passed and that you can start to reap the benefits of the healthier habits you have in place.
I am sorry you are dealing with the bill issue and I hope it is easily and painlessly resolved. :goodvibes:
What awesome progress you have made on all of your resolutions. Even though you have back-burnered the weight one right now, give yourself credit for NOT gaining during a month of cold and snow when the human body seems to want lots of rich, heavy food as if we were going to be hibernating! ;)
I wanted to share a line from a song that helped sustain me during the marathon because I have also played it in my head during other difficult times: "The Good Lord gave us mountains so we can learn how to climb." I know you think of these troubles as obstacles, but I hope you will start to look at them (as I try to) as potential for success. Sending you a :hug: sweetie and WISHing you a fabulous day!

Hi Tracy
Hope your feeling better today :grouphug:
How much longer do you have to cleanse for?
Just take good care of yourself :flower3:
Hope that bill gets sorted really quickly!
