Hi. Has anyone tried and/or succeeded getting non dvc members traveling with you who are NOT on your reservation into the Top of the World Lounge? My brother is traveling with us but has his own reservation. dvcmember.com says they have to be on the member's reservation to get in. Just wonder if anyone has tried this and was turned away. TIA

It will be up to the CM checking ID's at the podium. Some will let you break the rules, some won't.

My guess is that they won't care.

It generally depends on how busy they are has been my experience. Most of the time they just make sure someone has a DVC card.

I was thinking that other guests/friends could be taken up as long as someone was there with their DVC membership (staying on points). I may be completely wrong about that. April of this year, I asked the CM at BLT if non-guests could go up to TOTWL with me and he said yes. I was staying at BCV on points and showed my membership card. I remember having a conversation with them about how many guests I could take up with me. (There were only 2.). He didn't give me a specific number, but we laughed about not having more than an elevator full. The capacity issue may be more of a concern on holidays.

In October, the CM just scanned my MB. I didn't show ID, but I also didn't have any guests with me.

We just did this last Monday on my dh's birthday! We had 2 non-member friends staying with us. We arrived at BLT and I showed my DVC card to the CM and they simply asked how many in your party. I said 4 & we were on the elevator. It was not crowded at all & a fun way to end a birthday.
