does anyone know of any tv stations that are broadcasting the Tour de France? I can only find a french channel ( that needs a subscription) on my cable service.
OLN is now versus.com & only has internet live video.

it started this year July 5th(?) and is now on section 6 of the race.

I started several years ago to watch this, when it was heavily advertised on some network. ( remember the 4 guys who went gadding about the cities for the newscrew & were finally kicked off the program for getting into too much trouble?) they used to have huge vans they broadcasted from & really for a boring sport was quite interesting at the time.
I stopped watching after Lance Armstrong guit, but he is back on,, I can't figure out why no coverage.

maybe because he is not on a 'real' USA team? what the heck is Astana? there are only 2 americans on their team.

Versus shows the event live in the morning and then recaps around noon. At 8pm they then show the entire stage again.

It is channel 603 on DirecTv and is often part of a sports package on carriers.

Tomorrow is the one of the two most important stages (along with 20) I think so good luck finding it in time to watch.

what the heck is Astana? there are only 2 americans on their team.

Lance is on Astana because Johan Bruyneel is the manager. Where ever Johan goes Lance will go. Astana was a team set up by a consorteum of Kazakh business for Alexander Vinokourov. It was named after the capital of Kazakhstan.

sheesh after searching tv guide.com then our cable website I finally found the correct channel!!
I was doing a search for "tour de france" they have it listed as "cycling"!

thanks for the heads up. :thumbsup2 will watch tomorrow

oh, we are in Ohio too!

Never heard of versus until I tried to watch some of the IRL races this year. I do not think my cable company has it...

You are welcome and hello fellow Ohioan. You may be interested in this. I can't do it but would love to join. It would be like playing baseball with Babe Ruth or having a kick around with Pele.

also, there are actually 2 American teams, Garmin-Slipstream and Columbia-High Road :)

i'm a huge Armstrong fan and think the Tour is a fascinating race. having Lance back this year does seem to add a lot more excitement. i'm loving it.

The MOUNTAINS are here today and the race really begins.
