Total Nightmare @ Disney

I really do not think ANYONE would have asked them why they did not use Google.

I would. I have done it. Part of training with customer service...help the customer, and then if it's something they could have done, teach them how to do it.

I'm pretty sure whichever mini golf place it was I went to had to have a refurb job done, so don't let it discourage you from trying it. Obviously if you show up and it looks bad you can turn around and walk out. Just make sure you leave your stuff at the hotel!

 to OP.

It's one thing to have stuff go wrong when it's just you and another adult. But when you have to deal with all that, with a toddler in tow, it does turn to "nightmare" status. You can explain to another adult why it's hot and miserable in a room -- or why you're bussing it all over kingdom-come to chase after park tickets and free dining passes and whatever -- it's not so easy to explain it all to a 2-year old. You want to have everything well planned out when you're traveling with a toddler, and it sounds like OP was just thwarted at every turn those first couple of days. That must have been miserable.

I'm glad to hear that Disney did try to make things right with a villa. That was a great upgrade.

Was the theme "winter"? If it wasn't it was probably Fantasia. Why was it so bad? Do you mind giving us details? It's a wonder Disney hasn't refurbished it?

What I don't understand is why the OP waited over a day for Disney to make it right on the A/C that is. If I checked into a room where the A/C was clearly not working (which it wasn't if the temp gauge read 83), I would have gone right back to the front desk and requested another room. I get the frustration about the tickets and meal plan not being added to their KTTW but the A/C thing, I'm a little perplexed.

As many posted, I would still write a letter and include all the details. Maybe management will follow up on what took so long to resolve the A/C issue and the other items as well.

I think it was the Nightmare on Elmstreet theme lol. There was paint chipped and peeling off all over the place. It's looked like no one was taking care of the place.

It's been awhile since we were there, I'll have to ask my friend to see if he can remember which place it was. (I just asked my wife and she said she thinks it was winter summerland)

The place was on the edge of Disney so I could see how it'd be easier for a thief to get in and out of there. The parking lot was blocked by bushes and trees as well.

I just looked at some videos. I'm now positive it was winter summerland. It may have just been a time when it needed a repainting. Fantasia golf looks way too nice.

WOW-

That really is unbelievable based on Disney "standards". Did you say anything to a CM about it? Just curious! What a shame.

No I was too busy talking to the police lol

The condition of the golf place was the least of my worries. We spoke to the police and some Disney managers about the theft (filling out the police report), and we drove back to Sarasota. There was no point in staying since we had nothing. What a bummer that was....

OMG, I stepped from computer for couple of hours and look how many new posts, gotta love board. OK, OP returned, OP gave us story. So yes she had bad experience and IMO she was conpensated very well. I do not see a reason to contact Disney since everything is on file anyway, BUT if she wants to do so, who cares. Most likely Disney will take it as a duplicate complain, open eyes widely and throw letter away since everything was taken care of already. So what exactly we discussing here?:confused3

MY Disney Nightmare :lmao:

It's good to see the usual suspects jumping all over someone without any facts at all. Some people need to get a life! :sad2:

:offtopic:
I don't know that you necessarily need to "remember to stay away" from it. The PP was there over ten years ago, and there have been many many good reviews of Winter Summerland in the past several years. You might want to at least drive by and see for yourself rather than base your decision on one review. That is ... if mini-golf is something your family enjoys!

So 10 years ago you went to what you think is WinterSummerland mini golf and it was in horrendous shape to the point it should be demolished? Sorry I'm not buying it, the place just opened in 1999, it would have been no more than 1 year old when you were there by my calculations and depending on the month even less old than that. Maybe you were somewhere else.

We went to one of the minit golf places a few years ago & it was great. I think it was Fantasia. I couldn't imagine one of the Disney places being run-down

I guess i should have just googled the questions.... but here are a few details of what took place...

10 nights 9/2 All Star Sports

Arrived 9/2 @10pm

Room temp was 83 and it seems the AC was not working.... call and said they will send someone out... midnight came and no one arrived... call them back to have someone come out in the morning because i need to get 2 tear old son to sleep....

called the next morning -- said they would send someone out... heading out to pickup some items we forgot and came back to the room about 5 hours later... room temp now at 87.... called and they said someone would be right out.... called front desk asked for manager... she said she will work on it as well.... 2 hours went by and no one shows up.... headed to the front desk to speak with the manager --- she said someone is just minutes away and she would call the room in 30 mins to see if everything was taken care of.... 1.5 hours later i head back to the desk -- no one had showed up.... and it was now 89 in the room and i insisted she come to the room... she enters the room and says "o my.... it is very hot in here" only just then someone arrived... she stays behind... -- The Filter of the AC unit had about 5 inches of dust and the motor was clogged with dust.... they had to replace the motor and things were solved.....

With the temp coming down in the room ---we headed to MK.... to our surprise they did not add our tickets on our room at check-in..... so here we are with a 2 year old crying at the gates because we wanted it and we had no tickets.... customer relations could not assist -- they called the all star and we were told we had to head back to the resort to have it fixed.....

They fixed that issue -- we heading back to the room only to find out the the room keys did not work...... heading back to the front desk....

After we got that fixed we heading back to the park -- tickets worked --- but they never added the meal plan on out tickets.... you would have thought they would have looked at that after the tickets were not placed on the card.....

I called the manager from my cell phone with still in the park ---- I wanted her to fix everything ----- she called me back 10 mins later and said she wanted to fix everything much better for us and they had a 2 bedroom villa for us at SSR.....

She said they wanted to make this a good time and nice villa.... she said she knew they messed up several time over and wanted to make it right....

So -- Why i wanted the address was to try and inform management what took place on our vacation and have it and use it as a case study.

We will be back -- been several time --- Just not at the All Star Sports

But i guess you get what you pay for

I would have been extremely annoyed with all the running back and forth, trying to resolve the issues. Glad you were put at SSR & hope the rest of your holiday was nice. :cloud9:
