ToT kinda gives me the feeling that i dont know whether I am going up or going down...does this happen to anyone else? but its like one of my fave rides! How many times did you drop? We dropped 7 times the last time i rode it!

The last time we went, my DD was 7. Her and my niece (13) went on it 6 times in a row! My DH and I went on it 5 times. I love that ride!

cool thanks y'all! but do yall feel like u cant tell if ur goin up or down? or is somethin wrong with me lol! Also, when you get off, do you feel like ur still dropping? I do for like 3 hours...but it is sooooo worth it!

I always feel like I can't tell which direction we're going, especially the first time you get shot back up. I think it's because you don't just freefall, you actually get pushed down. And yeah, I always feel like I"m falling for hours afterwards, especially if I ride it more than one time a day. I'll be laying in bed that night and I feel like I'm falling - scary! Lots of fun though!

Hello disneychika:wave:

This is one of my favorites too!!!
and I also feel like I don't know
if Im going down or up!!!
Did you Know that there is a seatbelt seat?
if you dare you can ask the CM to put you in that seat
and when you are falling down you are gonna lift from your
seat because you only have the seatbelt and no lap bar...
and you get a full view of the ride because nobody is in front of you...
I always ride it like this and is awesome!!!!

This was the only scarey ride I did when we last visited in 1999. I got myself into such a state of terror I kept my eyes closed tightly the whole time and soon lost track of whether we were up or down. I couldn't bear the tension when you were stationary just waiting for the ride to 'do something' and although I'm quite reserved and British about making a fuss (eg when I had my babies the most I could come up with was 'ouch'!) on the TOT I screamed myself hoarse. The only problem was that when the ride finished and the doors opened I thought we had stopped because another drop was about to happen so I sat there, eyes tightly shut screaming loudly. That is, until a nice CM touched my arm and said it was time to get off. My kids thought it was really funny.

They are all seatbelt seats now. I think there may still be that center seat that used to be the only seatbelt seat, but I half remember that on one of the cars there wasn't a middle seat (I could be wrong about that part, though). What I don't like about the individual seatbelts is, though, is that they tighten automatically and can't be left a little loose to get more air time.

Yea I think most of the seats were seatbelt seats when I went on a few weeks ago. It was scary and a thrill at the same time to just have the seatbelt it almost felt like you were floating when you went down. It is also cool that you didnt know whether you are going to go up or going to go down and i went one it 2 more times and not one time was the same.

I thought I was the only one! LOL! I really cannot tell if I'm going up or down unless I strain my eyes really bad and look at the wall in front to see what direction it is going. That's the only way I can tell sometimes!

I LOVE Tot!!!

jubileegirl - that is a VERY funny story!! I'm sure your kids will never let you live that down! Reminds me of the time I did something similar on a ride. I rode something called Starblaster (similar to Dr. Doom's Fearfall at IOA) I'm sure you've all seen those tower rides with the seats on the outstide - you get "shot up" then pulled back down a couple of times. Well, I had my eyes closed, scared to death, and just screamed myself silly the whole time. My son who was sitting in the seat next to me hit me on the arm and said "mom, it's over". I opened my eyes and we were safely back on the ground and everyone standing in queue was just staring at me a few feet away!! I was so mortified! :)

Are the seatbelts large enough for those who are "pooh sized"?

And, is there a bar to hold while you're dropping?

Thanks!

Yes, the seatbelts are very large. You should have no problem. Just pull the seatbelt out before you sit down, then fasten it. I'm "pooh-sized" too (5'11, 350 lb) and had no problem on this or any other Disney ride (and we did 'em all :) )

As far as something to hold on to, I don't remember, actually. You can do like my terrified GF did, though, and grab for dear life the person next to you (me, in this case :) )
