ToT Race Progress Check-in

I am new to WISH, but have been training for events for about a year. Right now, though, I am recovering from major surgery on Aug 2. I plan to be ready for the 13k at ToT, though! I am (very, very slowly!) walking 1/2 mile per day and as soon as I'm cleared by my dr will start increasing both speed and distance. Wish me luck!

Put me on the NOT training list!! Walking a bit, but just doing ToT for fun! And the new medal! AND the glow -in-the-dark race shirt!!

But will need to start training for Goofy in Jan, like several others on the list. A date I saw a few times is Sep 3. Yeah, that's the ticket, I'm starting my Goofy training on Sep 3rd!

I most have caught Diane's cold as I started the week off with one. So took Sunday and Monday off. So far this week.

GoofyWalker--- I right with you as 9/3 for the start of Mickey training. I have a half marathon in Baltimore 10/13 so have needed to stay on half marathon training routine. Where are you in PA?

Tues 4 miles TM and pump class
Wed 4 miles TM and stretch class
Hope tonight to do another 4 miles and then pump class. Planning long walk for the Sat. It is to be beautiful weather this weekend with temp on in low 80s.

Instead of walking, I took time off to weed my flower beds. I spent over an hour bending, stretching, pulling and generally sweating!! :flower3: I have pretty flowers again, though!!

Today, I did 2.5 miles of intervals. Looking forward to having a LSD!
 
6.2 miles in 68 minutes today...............

Gotta' get more music on my mp3 player..........:rotfl:
 
I bumped up to 3 miles last night on the treadmill. Still doing an 11 minute mile but I am happy with that.

I didn't realize it but I had been running on an incline. My mom had a treadmill in storage so I swiped it ;) and it was about 14 years old but served the purpose. On my last run before I bumped up to 3 miles, I was on it and I hear a big CLUNK, ok, that was weird but everything still seemed to be working, at the 2 mile mark I hear another big CLUNK and now the treadmill is loud. Hubby came down and noticed that the manual incline bar had broken. That last half mile for me went by quick and was easier.

So little did I know but I have been running on an incline.

Well went out yesterday and bought a new treadmill, it was on clearance -half off - so I bought it for 249 :) Jogged 3 miles on it and on a 1.5% incline. Figured I have been running on the incline all this time, may as well continue.

New treadmill much nicer, and much more quiet.
