ToT Race Progress Check-in

PatsBill, don't have any pictures to share with you as this ToT will be an INAUGURAL event. Everyone will PR, no matter what!:lmao: Knowing which "meet and greet" (as Kristi would say) WISHer event to attend is usually the hardest decision to make! :goodvibes Anne

I understand this. That is why I would like to see post race pics of the other half of the race. Seeing how the entry fee is so much more for the 13 K as opposed to the 6.5 K, I'm figuring it will be good entertainment. Of course, the ChampionChip could explain part of the cost difference. If that's the case, I'm guessing the WISH/YARC 13Kers will create their own entertainment.

Ohhhhhhhh, PatsBill....there will be pictures...lots and LOTS of pictures!!!:lmao: :cool2:

Roberts site DisneyRunning.com is a gathering place for pictures. I'm NOT wearing that darn thong again though!

We aren't going fast for this one either, just going to enjoy the entire experience and take alot of photos!!!!!! Those lime green shirts will sure stand out during the night.

THONG!!! Yikes.....I don't recall that photo:lmao:

I am using this event as a training walk. I will have just completed a half on 10/13 and it will be Day 11 for me at WDW so my legs are going to be tired. I'm looking forward to this being more fun than training.

I have looked all over for the clip art for the ToT can someone direct me to the right place to get it. Thanks.

Nancy

Well it looks like I am in good company then :) Some other first timers and others that are taking it slow.

I don't know if I will be able to meet anyone before the event though because we will be getting of the member cruise on Thursday and Friday is our food and wine day, the only day we will be in the parks. Saturday I think will be more of a chill out by the pool type thing.

I started with the C25K program in March this year and have run a couple of short races- 5K/3mile. I'm not a fast runner, but I was pleased to finish the 3 mile in 32 minutes - though I don't think I'll be able to manage that for 13K. Right around 12 seems to be more like the comfortable pace I can sustain over the longer haul, so if I can manage to get a little under 12min/mile for this one, I will be thrilled. I will be running with my best friend's husband who will have completed a marathon earlier in the month and possibly another friend from high school, so I guess we may need to find a common pace or else split up. I'm not that focused on pace - it's going to be a fun race primarily, I think!

I went 6 miles earlier this week, some walking, some running due to heat and HILLS. Brutal. However, when I was walking the cooldown, I had this crazy thought that 2 more miles didn't seem impossible, so that is a good sign. :thumbsup2 But then we are going on a cruise and that is bound to throw in some monkey wrenches.

Gotta join us for Mini Golf. A way to "chill out"!

Well, slow is my middle name. I'm much slower than all of you guys. I'm shooting for a 14 minute pace. :tiptoe: That will certainly be fast for me. :teeth:

The most mileage in a single day that I've done lately is 4 miles. I had a bike accident about a month ago and recovery has been a slow process - my walk/running schedule has been pretty weak. Hopefully, I can get back to regular training soon.

By the way, is there a thread for WISH gatherings during ToT weekend? I may be too late signing up for some of the fun. :guilty:

How is everyone doing?? Especially in this heat wave we are having in the midwest.

I am still doing 2 miles, next week I am going to bump up to 2.5 miles and do that for about 2 weeks then bump upto 3.

Go Cobbler, you are doing super increasing your distance in spite of the heat.

I'm fine on the training it's being impatient that's my problem.

Dave:hippie:

Well I have to admit I am increasing it on the treadmill, in the basement, with a fan blowing on me :teeth:

It's just to hot to be outside right now, I will get outside more once the weather cools down.

I too have been increasing the training on the treadmill but just not in the basement since we don't have one of those. But I am in the back room with the air and the fan blowing on me as I watch movies - real hard training!! The movies actually help because I want to finish watching the movie so I stay on longer even if I am just walking I am still getting the miles in.

Good luck with training and be safe in this heat!!

As long as I have something to occupy my mind on the TM, I am fine with using it. I usually read and am lucky that I can walk that fast and still read. I have stayed on longer to finish a book. But I have also stopped earlier if I am finished with the book and become bored.

Keep up the good work cobbler and TnTsParty

How is everyone doing??

I bumped up to 2.5 miles today. I think I could have gone to 3 but I didn't want to overdo it, so I think I will bump up to 3 next week if I continue on feeling the way I did today.

I took today off after working out 6 days in a row last week. :)

I'm planning on riding the bike for 10 miles tomorrow morning and then doing some weight training tomorrow night. In between I'm going to buy a lottery ticket for the 181 mil. Powerball. I think I'm going to win. I can just feel it. :rolleyes1

As for running, I'm planning on waddling for 3 miles on Wed and Fri nights. Hopefully, I can waddle for 5 miles on Sunday. And, I plan on doing all of this on the TM. These triple digit days are a killer around here. :scared:

Way to go Cobbler and Susie!

I crawled on my LSW on Saturday. Didn't make the distance that was scheduled but hey I was coming off a week long cold and it was HOT! Poor Cathy had a headache that started on the walk and lasted till Sunday :( Susan did well, she didn't think she'd do the same distance with us so turned back early and had she had her garmin on we believe she hit very close to 16. Excellent considering her knee, new shoes, and ending with a blister the size of a half dollar i think she said.

I bailed on my weight training for tonight. At the end of the day I was getting a horrible headache.

Good luck with the treadmill training! Toss a movie in or jam to some great tunes :thumbsup2 Keep up the excellent work and stay healthy! No more cold germies! I think Queen Judy should banish the germies LOL

Last week training went great and ended with a LW of 10 miles on Sat. So I managed to do a total of 22.5 miles and did 2 pump classes, stretch and Pilates.

I now have a summer cold and since Sunday have done nothing training wise. May try to do something today if I can breath and not blow my nose a zillion times.

Glad others are getting in their miles.

Nancy

One week from today I will be posting a training report! YAY! :cool1:

Being the Queen of YARC has so many responsibilties. OK, Diane, I'll take care of the germs. Get ye some AirBorne! ;)

Anyone thinking of doing some late night L/Rs as we get closer to lift off? I usually train during the week around 4:30-4:45am. My weekend L/Rs usually start about 7:00am. We are usually in bed by 9:30pm! I think we may do some October L/R's at the local high school track under the lights, around 9:30pm. Geez, I hope I can stay up that late.
