Okay, there's a huge tornado in Cave Spring, GA, about an hour from us. I went down and fixed up the basement room. We'll just have to squeeze in there regardless of what Chrstian does. It might be a very long night, but we'll be pretty safe down there.
I don't know if i can get him down there. And I'm very sure there will be no sleeping down there. The interior room is very small. Not big enough to lay him down. My downstairs is pretty exposed--bit vaulted ceiling, big ole windows. I think the upstairs hallway might actually be safer. I don't know if I can keep him confined in the basement. Christian is severely autistic, bigger and stronger than me, and it's very hard to get him to change his routine. I don't want to get into a wrestling match with him. Ugh. These storms are just passing over the state line into Georgia. I think I'm going to be up late watching the weather.

Good--I was thinking more along the lines of him sleeping on a cot or on a couch in the basement so IF you have to go to a safe room, you just have to get him to walk over to that room vs going down stairs to get there. Put Christian in the safe room first if you have to go in there so he doesn't have a choice to get out. Does his nurse stay at your home overnight or is he just there for a few hours to help with bedtime?
Hey GA peeps, I just got this on my twitter feed
RT @TORNADOHUNT: *AVOID* I-75 in North Georgia at all costs. Tornadoes will cross the interstate this evening.

No, our nurse just left. He has a full-time job working in a nursing home, so I'm sure they'll be needing him tonight. DH is working with Christian now and it's not pretty. Christian must be picking up on all the anxiety because all he wants to do is pace. We're trying to keep him down on the main level with us. Unfortunately, there is no place to just hang out in the basement--no beds or couches. Just boxes of stuff, lots of things that would become missiles if the windows blow. This is making me crazy.
Just south of Knoxville is under a Tornado Warning... Hamblen, Jefferson, and Cocke also just went under a tornado warning. That is 2 counties southwest of us, so if it keeps going northeast, we may get hit by this storm set.
I'm in Hamblen County. We've been watching the news since 6pm. They just said that it is heading toward Greene County now.
Is anyone else as nervous as I am about the next couple of days weather patterns in the south?
Living in the south it's a part of life in the spring but I saw what has happened to the mid west and I'm going to admit that I'm down right scared.
The weather channel guy isn't helping with his Tor Con of 8 for us here in the mid state.
Here's to praying that everone makes it through the next few days.
