Top Secret Pixie Dust! A Surprise 13th Birthday PTR! NEW! TRIP REPORT LINK PAGE 220!

Ohhh I am so happy that you posted about Oceans! I really wanted to go and see it. Glad you enjoyed it so much.

What a GREAT package!! So nice to have kind friends :goodvibes

Yes, Oceans is worth seeing and the package was the best!

Have you guys been watching the series Life? My boys have watched it so I figured that Oceans might just be a repeat. I'm curious to know if it's new footage or not.

Glad you guys enjoyed it. :thumbsup2 We're very big into conservation and "going green" these days and I spend a lot of time discussing things with the boys.

We haven't seen any of the episodes of Life, so I am not sure if there is repeated footage or not.

I'm the same way, Jackie. I haven't seen the movie yet, but I'm afraid that some of the death involves a baby creature, and I sure can't take that. :sad2:

:rolleyes1

My sister had brought Earth with us when we drove to DW last month. I could tell whenever anything was about to be killed because my girls would both gasp. I'd look up in the rearview mirror, and they'd have their eyes half covered and shoulders drawn up!

That was pretty much how the kids and I looked while watching some of Oceans.

We saw "Oceans" last week and LOVED it!!! I didn't find the "death" parts to be too bad. Madison is THE most sensitive little girl and cries at everything. But, she didn't cry at ALL during the movie. I could have watched those dolphins and whales swim all day long. They were so beautiful!

Those dolphins and whales were beautiful! I find dolphins such intriguing creatures.

Was that a rice krispie basket Connor had? Brillant idea! I so stealing that!!

It was a rice krispie basket -- my MIL made those for egg dying night.

Has anyone seen "The Cove" (about Dolphin killing in Japan)?? I saw parts on Oprah and just that little was hard to watch. I'm ok with the "circle of life" death of animals but at the hands of man for no good reason is the worst.

Nuh-uh! I don't think I could watch The Cove. It won the Oscar for Best Documentary, and the clip they showed was too much for me.

Yes. Sully and I both watched The Cove a few months back. It is very disturbing to watch a certain part. :( But, I had no idea that this was done and I have to say that I will never go to a Sea World again knowing that they get some of their dolphins from there.

It is just so tragic!

I read your update on the exact same day it was written......:lmao:.....I can't believe it. I love the easter baskets. Just perfect! I like the vera makeup bag. Very cute.

Thanks!

The movie sounds interesting. I enjoyed hearing about it. I'm not good with death on the big screen either.

I am not good with death on the small screen either.

Wigd sent you guys some lovely trinkets. How nice! What a great surprise.

It was very sweet of her!

So how many more weeks of school do you have? Just curious, cause I remember how early you went back last summer. Me thinks you should only have 3 more weeks to go.

We are down to fifteen more school days! :thumbsup2

What a great package Anita sent you! I am sooooo buying that Tink F&G pin next week :thumbsup2

Isn't it adorable? I think you need one without a doubt!

I really want to take the boys to see Oceans too, I just don't know when I will have the time - maybe Wednesday after school, hmmmmm I'm going to have to figure something out.

Or when you get home from Disney...since you are leaving tomorrow...:yay:

What a great surprise from Anita!

Thanks for posting your review of Oceans. I usually avoid nature films/shows due to the fact that DD13 and I tend to become too emotionally involved! :lmao: It sounds intriguing, though...

It was so nice of Anita!

Oceans was a beautiful film -- I am glad we went to see it.

I must admit that I've never heard of this Oceans movie  but I so want to see it now.

It was just a breathtaking film!

Easter candy would be so good right now.
The F&G pin is so cute!
I think I'll take my nephew to see Oceans this weekend.

Yes, Easter candy would be great right now!

Yes, you should go see Oceans!

Glad to hear it had such an impact on the kids! Part of my draw to science is my passion for the environment so I love to hear things like that.

When I taught environmental science, we watched quite a bit of the Earth series and a number of my students asked the same thing. It's hard to remember that the filmakers were just there as observers and had to let nature do it's thing

Unfortunately, nature can be so cruel! :sad2:

I want to see Oceans, but probably won't untill it comes out on dvd. I hate the death/killing scenes in nature movies. I hide my eyes too!

One part Chelsea had her ears covered, too. Poor girl!

Your pictures from Easter are cute so glad you remembered to share them with us.

Thank you!

My children can definitely attest to the fact that Miss Anita Wigd's packages are awesome and super sweet!

It is always an exciting day when they arrive in the mailbox!!!

I am thinking about taking Brooklynn to see Oceans. She is one day going to work at Animal Kingdom or be a vet or both and loves those kinds of shows on TV. She actually handles the natural deaths better than she handles some of her Disney movies. She hates when someone else is sad or left alone and her lip starts to pucker up.

Brooklyn would love Oceans. They even have some footage of clown fish -- both my kids shouted, "Nemo!"

Hope your Monday was as good as a Monday can be! Can't wait to see you and Chelsea on Saturday!!!!!:banana::banana:

See you tomorrow!!! :yay:

Great Easter pics!!

Love all the goodies from Anita. Love the Cinderella coach for the pearl & I am not a pin person but love the F&G pin!!

We are watching the Life series & taping it. We really are enjoying it & will have to see Oceans soon.

Thank you! Yes, go see Oceans -- it is such a lovely movie!

Loveeee that new makeup bag you got for Chelsea! I knew that the cupcake prints were on sale and it was sooooo hard for me to not go over to the website and buy, buy, buy!

I have managed to stay away from the current sales, but it has been hard!

Glad you guys liked Oceans...have you seen the topiaries of the dolphins in Epcot? They're so cool and made me want to see the movie!

I did see the pictures of the dolphin topiaries! So cool!

Great update, CP!!! AND I must say I love all the goodies you got from WigD How special! the Pins are too cute! Oh, and I had to laugh because my DS7 got the same lego set in his basket... ;) Perfect size to fit!

Thank you! Anita always sends the best goodies! Yes, the Lego set was the perfect size for the Easter basket.

I can't deal with the whole nature and death in the wild thing, either. The trailer for the movie looked amazing like Earth did.

I will say that Disney does death quite tastefully -- you can't really see what's going on, but you know...

Great update, and I am so excited for you that you can practically taste the end of the school year!!! YAY!!!!:goodvibes

Fifteen school days away!!!

I always love your updates and pictures Jackie! That Chelsea is a pip, huh? I like the rice crispy basket too. Now I'm going to have to add Oceans to my list of things to do. How did Chelsea like her VB? And what great gifts from Wigd!!

Thanks, Susan! Chelsea loved her make-up bag -- it's full of her cosmetics now.

I was thinking about you on Saturday with those storms  ughhhh I would be a (rice krispie) basket case :rotfl2:

Thankfully, they weren't bad in our area!

What a lovely surprise from Anita!! Love those pearl carriages :goodvibes

Can't wait to get pearls for them!

I have a hard time with any of the "natural death" scenes too....I cringe when I catch a glimpse of anything like that on tv :sad1:

Me too!

What a cute basket for Connor!! I haven't made rice krispie treats in ages....when I was younger I always tried to eat it when it was warm and had not yet "set up." ;)

Tracy

Connor loved his basket -- both before and after he ate it.

Love the package... and the pins! There is one remaining chocolate bunny here... I don't dare touch it, or it would be gone without any pause on my part. I need the girls to find it in the pantry again, so we can share!

 Have they found it yet? ;)

Can I ship you all my Easter candy?!?!?!? Megan is SO not the candy girl....will love to a eat a piece or two when she first gets it, but then totally forgets all about it and we are left with a ton!!! Tom and I avoid it pretty much, so you can NOT believe the amount of candy that we have around here. It kills me to think I need to throw it out---I wish there was somewhere I could send it to!

Save it for the fall when you start teaching again and hand it out to your students. ::yes::

Miss Anita Wigd sent ya'll some very nice things! I like the bracelet and the pins. :goodvibes

Hannah and I went to see Oceans on Sunday and really enjoyed it. She didn't seem to be too bothered by the death scenes. She has been talking alot lately about animals losing their habitats when people build houses and even quotes the percentange of animals that die because of it. I'm thinking they've been talking about this in class. They had an in-school Field Trip on Earth Day. There's a museum in Charlotte called Discovery Place (http://www.discoveryplace.org/) and some people from the museum came and talked to them about clouds and temperature since that's what they've been doing in science. On the way home that night she talked non-stop about what they'd done/learned that day.

What a cool in-school field trip! Chelsea and Connor have become VERY conservation minded lately. I love when kids get fired up about causes!

Glad to know my DD isn't the only one! Last night I finally threw out the rest of her Easter candy because it was unwrapped and had gotten stale. She didn't care at all! :sad2:

My kids would be shocked to learn there are kids that don't enjoy candy as much as they do! :lmao:

We're watching Life here...and would have seen Oceans in DTD last week...had it not opened the DAY after we left. Darn Earth day timing. :rotfl: I'd love to hear the comparison.

I would have so traded a trip to California for seeing the movie.

I am so stealing that idea too, it's adorable. UGH, I've heard about The Cove, no interesting stealing that.

What a LOVELY package from Anita!!!!!!

My MIL made the baskets, but I imagine she found the recipe on the Rice Krispies website.

I am right there with ya about The Cove -- not watching it ever.

Anita was so sweet to send us goodies!

Easter, a Miss Anita Wigd package, and a DisneyNature movie! What a nice April you have had! :thumbsup2

We really have had a good month, and May is looking to be just as fun starting tomorrow! ;)

All of the gifts are very cool, of course. The bracelet is cute - and very appropriate for so many of you.

Oh, yes -- very appropriate!

We're going to see Oceans sometime after we get back from WDW. I loved Earth, so I am looking forward to this one, too. I wish we could take our students to see it for a field trip, but the times don't work out for us.

You will love Oceans! It's just beautifully done!

Man, I am lost!!! How did I not know you had a PTR!! Ugh!! going now to catch up! :)

But you have found it now!

thanks for the sweet update....

love the yummy rice krispie basket...have not had jello eggs in a l-o-n-g time :thumbsup2

That is so great you got to see Oceans...

Jello eggs are quite the tradition at our house -- Connor, especially, finds them irrestible!

The Easter bunny was very kind to the kiddos! What neat things they received. :) I also have a very HARD time watching death in nature films. I just cannot do it. I'd be fired on my first day as a filmmaker. ;)

I would be fired, too, as I would be flapping my arms and interceding in any wildlife fights.

WOW! What a super DIS friends you have! Loved it all.

Very cute eggs and "baskets" that your kids made. I haven't done that in a few years. I need to remember it for next year. How funny that she made jello eggs after your morning with the gorillas! So how did Chelsea like her Vera that you agonized over?

Anita spoiled us with her package! Oh, yes, Chelsea loved the bag -- she has all her make-up in it.

Love the Easter baskets! So fun! Love the gifts from Anita too! That is just so sweet!

Thank you! Yes, we had fun with all of the goodies from Anita!

Well, the free dining has started for the Disney Visa people. I received an offer yesterday. It is good until October 1st. Too bad I'm not planning a trip until 2011.

I will have to check out those movies when they are on dvd, don't go to theaters much, only live shows.

I did see that about free dining -- very tempting!

We don't head to the movies very often, but Disney always seems to reel us in with their films.

Why are you up early on a SATURDAY morning???
Don't ya know teachers get a sleep late day? :goodvibes

I told Wigd, after two weekends of super fun, I'm going to be spoiled and whining about what my entertainment will be the next weekend. Maybe going to see Oceans will be an idea. :thumbsup2

But then I'll just be whining the next weekend! ;)

Jill and I will see you in just a little while. :)

 I needed to do a load of laundry and thought I might get to the grocery store before heading down to Atlanta.

Oceans would be a good thing to ease back into normal weekends. Just think -- soon it will be summer!

Jill and I will see you in just a little while. :)

Hurray!!! :yay: Safe travels this morning!

Hey Jackie!

I love the kids Easter baskets....how sweet!

I also heard that Oceans was very good, so I just might have to mosy on over to the theater and go see that myself. I love Connor's comments about the showering...too funny!!

Have a fun time today. I wished I had got my act in gear and made plans to join all of you. I guess it is a good thing I didn't though, DH nephew and his wife decided to give us a surprise visit this weekend. I guess I better get to cleaning out the guess bedroom. Take pictures to share of your fun times.

Jackie, have fun today on your girls outing to see Mary Poppins! I know you are going to have a practically perfect time seeing all of the DIS friends!
I can't wait to hear all about it and of course see the pics!
Get a good one of MeMom!
;) Who loves having her picture taken....

That must be another MeMom that you are talking about. :goodvibes

Jackie, it was so nice to meet you and Chelsea. She's going to out-tall you very soon. She's such a cute girl. She did well sitting through all of the silliness without internally combusting. I hope you have so much fun on your summer trip - the ocean, the pool, and shopping. :cool1:

She seems to be very happy with the final decision, so we won't try to force Disney on her any more. Bo will just give her a shout out and tell her to have fun at the beach. She does know all the details now, is that correct? We don't want to hold up any sign that blows any secret you are not ready for her to know about.

Hi, came over here this morning and I have really enjoyed reading all of your reports.

You have a lovely family! ;)

I feel like I have been up and down emotionally as I read how your trip plans have changed.

I was so excitted for you to be staying at GF ... sad you had to make a change... then so happy you could do CBR and Chelsea picked it as her choice .... felt your disapointment.... happy you are still going to get a Disney fix and who could not love a trip to the BEACH!

I can really relate to how it feels to realize a Disney trip isn't going to happen.

I too have had to pull the plug on several Disney trips and it's heartbreaking.

We havn't been since 2007. :sad2:

In 2008 my 'darling kids' wanted to try something else ....so off to the beach it was and it turned out to be so much fun!

Last year I had to face the fact there would be WDW ... so off the beach again!

I can truely say it's so relaxing to be at the beach. You'll enjoy it!

If I can't vacation at WDW I will always choose the BEACH!

Your kids are great and they will have fun no matter where they are. :)

* I have to say that I loved seeing your post on Princess Diana.
I remember watching the wedding and being awestruck by the whole thing.
Her gown was so beautiful. (I am so jealous you saw it in person)
I'm so happy I got to see her upclose in person when she visited here.
She was so gracious and beautiful.
I remember the night she passed...I was still living in Auburn, AL.
I was playing cards with my in laws and it was anounced on the tv....I was truely saddened.
My inlaws couldn't understand why I was so sad.
I tried to explain how the 'Royals' are special to Canadians, the Queen is ours too. So that made her our Princess Diana aswell.
I would love to see that exhibit somday!

* I just love the pocketbook bracelet. I should have one of those as I have so many purses.
Wig'd is so thoughtful! How sweet to send you a little bit of Disney!

I can't wait to read all about your summer trip! :goodvibes

Hi, Jackie. I'm just popping in to say hello. I've been reading, just not commenting as much, but still enjoying this immensely. :thumbsup2

Hi, Katie! Oceans was quite good! Yes, Connor was ready to do his part!

Next time I hope you can join us! We had a lot of fun, but it sounds like you had just as much fun with your nephew! :goodvibes

We had a great time and did manage to get a picture or two of MeMom! ;) Chelsea and I just met them for lunch since my brother's 40th birthday celebration was last night.

Have fun today! Can't wait to hear about the fun.

Thanks! We laughed a lot and two hours went by much too quickly!

Oh YES! Have a tremendous time! Mary Poppins is fabulous!!! Can't wait to see pics and hear all about it!!

We just met everyone for lunch, but had a wonderful time with everyone! My BIL's 40th birthday was last night, but I haven't given up hope of seeing Mary Poppins while it is here.

Have fun today!

Thanks! We did!!!

Have fun today, Jackie!

I already saw your lunch pictures on MeMom's PTR.

I have a similar one to post here this morning! We had a blast!

You should have come. We laughed a lot, and the food was good.
The company was superb - lots of nice DIS girls!

::yes::

That must be another MeMom that you are talking about.

:lmao:

We had such a great time with you all! I hope we can get together again soon! In those wedge shoes of hers, I definitely felt like the shrimp of the group. Chelsea had fun, but I can't wait to tell you about our conversation in the car on the way home. Wasn't that a hoot when she said that about the beach and shopping -- twelve-year-old priorities for sure!

She doesn't know we have actually booked anything yet, but let Bo do his thing, and I will incorporate it into the final reveal! She is going to be so tickled by it!

It has been a roller coaster trying to plan the trip this year, but I agree, I think the beach will be fun!

I can really relate to how it feels to realize a Disney trip isn't going to happen.

I don't think I ever liked purses as much as I do now since I joined the DIS boards. Wigd was super sweet to spoil us with all those goodies!

Hi, TK! How are you holding up?

Very one day at a time. It's finally started to affect my DS and so I'm trying to figure out the best way to deal with that. I want to discipline on the acting out with time outs, etc, like we normally do, but I am aware of what's going on behind it and that makes it more difficult.

Oh, that's a tough one! If it were me, I think I would still discipline the behavior but accompany it with a hug and saying, "I know you miss your grandmother." That way you are helping him verbalize what he is feeling. Poor DS!

I have been thinking of you a lot this week! Now that there are lots of hugs for you from Georgia!
