Oh, that's a tough one! If it were me, I think I would still discipline the behavior but accompany it with a hug and saying, "I know you miss your grandmother." That way you are helping him verbalize what he is feeling. Poor DS!

Yesterday, Chelsea and I were able to meet a bunch of DISers for lunch. MeMom and Jill (Brooklynsmommy) drove over to Atlanta to see Mary Poppins with Dawn (punkin413), and we met up with them and Heather (hlababy) at Pappasito’s. I do hope MeMom and Jill will tell the story of their trip to Atlanta -- their unplanned expedition up a mountain was one of the funniest things I have heard in a long time!

We had such a great time!!! Lots of laughing, funny stories, and yummy food (the portions sizes were so huge, Chelsea left with a to go box)! MeMom asked Chelsea what she liked to do in Hilton Head, and Chelsea told her she liked to go to the beach, the pool, and shop. Such a twelve-year-old response! LOL!

Two hours went by far too quickly! I truly hope that we are all able to get together again soon -- everyone was so much fun to hang out with!

A super nice waitress was sweet enough to take pictures for all of us using all of our cameras before everyone headed their separate ways. I was a little sad we weren’t headed to the Fox to see Mary Poppins, but my BIL had a 40th birthday celebration last night.

On the way home I asked Chelsea, “Didn’t it make you want to go to Disney World listening to everyone talking about their trips?” (I was/am still holding out hope that Chelsea will change her mind about this summer.) Her reply? “Mom, is that why you let me come along? To try and convince me to go to Disney?” I couldn’t help but laugh!

It was truly a perfect way to spend part of our Saturday!

Thanks! It is amazing to me how much she has changed in just this year alone!

Connor has already changed his mind after reading the third Kingdom Keepers book, but Chelsea is our lone hold-out. She keeps bringing up the fact that it is her 13th birthday, and she REALLY wants to go to the beach.

Jackie, oh my goodness, Chelsea is getting more beautiful and grown up by the minute! Although I am sad for you that you have no Disney parks this summer, I do admire a girl who stands up for herself!!!

Joining in on you PTR and am COMPLETELY understanding the changing of mind and vacation spots! It's hard to decide where to stay and IF financially it's going to work. SO happy that you have decided on the Hilton Head. It'll be nice to read all about it, as I don't know much. You and your daughter share the same dream hotel as I do. One day we'll get there.

definitely! you, heather and i are only about an hour away from each other. we need to figure out a halfway point and do this more often!
