Top Secret Pixie Dust! A Surprise 13th Birthday PTR! NEW! TRIP REPORT LINK PAGE 220!

OOH that sounds so great!! I think I'll just tag along with you.
We loved Tutto!!! I'm glad you're going there. I'd love to have a hunky Italian waiter singing happy birthday to me!!

We've never been to 50s PTC either. My kids don't take kindly to criticism about their poor eating habits. And they don't like too many veggies. That's just asking for a meltdown! Maybe when they're older!

Do you type up your updates in a word program and then copy it to post? When do you do pictures? I've had a couple incidents where I'm typing a post in the reply box and, well, things go awry, and I lose the whole deal. Just trying to decide if there's a better way. TIA.

Then, this morning with my update typed and ready to go, all of a sudden my computer started screaming that it had a virus. It took Charles three hours and a whole slew of new anti-virus software to fix it.

1. Sunday evening after our arrival at the command base, we will be heading past this sign to dine at 50’s Prime Time Café. This is a first for us, and I have been angling for years to eat here. I finally wore Charles down and was able to get him to agree to try out someplace where we may get fussed at for not eating our vegetables and where we get to choose our desserts with the aid of a Viewmaster!

2. Monday evening we will be on a reconnaissance mission to find a heaping bowl of Cheddar Cheese Soup in the beautiful country of Canada at Le Cellier. This was a must-try for Charles after our trip to the Food and Wine Festival.

3. Tuesday around lunchtime, these signs will guide us to Yak and Yeti in the jungles of Asia. Hopefully this visit will prove to be better than our last one in June 2008.

4. After an early lunch, we will return to the command center of our resort where in the afternoon, Chelsea and I will go transform ourselves into elegant ladies with only one aim in mind -- to enjoy afternoon tea in the Garden View Lounge. Another first for us and any place that serves pastries is bound to be delicious. Charles and Connor will head to the arcade for some boy time!

5. Wednesday morning after a couple of hours at the Magic Kingdom we have a rendezvous to meet the Mad Hatter and Alice at 1900 Park Fare for breakfast/brunch. Surely these characters will keep us laughing as they did in June 2007 when we ate there.

6. Thursday evening as our mission draws to a close, we will celebrate a successful trip with a heaping helping of cannelloni and tiramisu at Tutto Italia -- another request from Charles. Hopefully, the charming waiters will have been alerted to the need to sing Happy Birthday to Chelsea.

So amid the heat and celebrating, we have three new places to try and three places we are returning to eat at again. Can’t wait!

Everything looks tasty, but I am in no hurry to return to the 50's Prime Time Cafe! It was not the experience all of us wanted and we will not be going back there soon. We will be visiting Tutto in June and Wigd is worried about me finding something I will like. We received a notice that Tables in Wonderland is being accepted at some new restaurants and I may be making an ADR for Shula's for the July trip or maybe Spring Break if we can get in.

Oh, I fought the same computer fight with Wigd's computer last weekend. Just what sites are you two visiting?

Great choices for ADRs!!

I love the idea of a mother/daughter outing! I'm so jealous.

Sorry to hear about the rough week & the computer troubles. :headache:

Your ADRs sound wonderful, just the description of them makes hungry.

50's Prime Time Cafe is my husband's families favorite place to eat, it is home cooking with a good bit of fun throw in. Yet he refuses to go when their is just the two of us, because he does not want to be the one picked on. When their is 11 of us he can blend into the background. I know you will have fun and it is a great way to start the trip.

Three new places and three old places is a good blend of adventure on Operation thirteen candles.

It's great to hear you and Chelsea had a great mother/daughter time last night. Many Fridays after a week of Middle School adventures I needed a period of quite bubble bath time.

"Logging on to our mother organization" :rotfl2:

I was proud of that one! :rotfl:

Those are some wonderful ADR's Natasha! PT50C is a lot of fun and I highly recommend the fried chicken. The mashed potatoes sooooo good. I might sneak in a lunch here in May ;)

Fried chicken and mashed potatoes are what keep calling to me at Prime Time.

I am eating at Le Cellier for the first time in May

I can't believe as many times as we have been to Disney, we have never eaten there, but we are about to break that streak.

I know you are a big Tutto fan and they DO have accommodating waiters ;)
The tea will be so fun for just the two of you

Those two I am very excited about!

Looking forward to your girl's outing reveal....I'm sure it will be wonderful :goodvibes

Tracy

I really think I am a sentimental mess this morning because I was getting weepy just looking at some of the pictures posted about it. I can't wait to reveal it.

Your ADRs sound great. We love 50s PTC! So much fun. Brother Robert has been our waiter 2 years in a row.

We are trying Le Cellier for the first time and can't wait.

Have a good weekend.

Charles has really balked at eating at Prime Time for awhile. It has taken three and a half years of whining to finally get it.

Le Cellier is the one place Charles wanted to make sure we got. I was willing to change things around if I had to so we could get in. Luckily, I didn't have to.

OOH that sounds so great!! I think I'll just tag along with you.

Charles and I really enjoyed our meal there.

Charles and Connor might not respond well to being fussed at. We could very well have a meltdown from both of them.

Do you type up your updates in a word program and then copy it to post? When do you do pictures? I've had a couple incidents where I'm typing a post in the reply box and, well, things go awry, and I lose the whole deal. Just trying to decide if there's a better way. TIA.

I always type my updates in word and then copy and paste. That way I can take my time and make any changes I need to before posting.

I am a bit nervous after reading about your experience there in December. I highly recommend the cannelloni at Tutto. It is like lasagna in a different form.

Charles tells me that it was Photobucket that was the culprit -- that the malware snuck into our computer from there. :confused3 Let me just tell you, though, there was one pop-up that must have popped up about a million times while Charles was trying to fix the computer that made me want to just find the woman and buy her some clothes. :headache:

Bravo Jackie!
You have some great eating ahead of you!:goodvibes

The "logging on to our mother organization" was a stroke of genius!:lmao:

In some small way didn't you miss the music and anticipation while being on hold with Disney Dining? To swipe one of Leslie's lines, it's really one of my warm fuzzies.....

Thank you! I am very excited about the upcoming outing. I absolutely cannot wait to reveal it!

I am hoping that the worst of everything is over now.

I don't normally schedule a table service for our first night, but because of some other things planned that I haven't revealed yet, it was the only time for Prime Time.

Three new places and three old places is a good blend of adventure on Operation thirteen candles.

I think so, too.

It's great to hear you and Chelsea had a great mother/daughter time last night. Many Fridays after a week of Middle School adventures I needed a period of quite bubble bath time.

::yes:: We needed to detox from our week with bowls of mint chocolate chip ice cream and a little movie romance.

Bravo Jackie!

You know the whole eating at Disney thing is one of my favorite things about our trips there! These are just the table services, too -- there are still all the snacks and counter services still to plan! :goodvibes

Thank you! I smiled as I wrote that this morning. ;)

In some small way didn't you miss the music and anticipation while being on hold with Disney Dining? To swipe one of Leslie's lines, it's really one of my warm fuzzies.....

Oh, most definitely. I always like the music and the "Have a magical day!" from the cast members. Luckily, I will still get to hear it from time to time as we make payments on the trip.

Sorry for the delay in the update. Chelsea needed some mother-daughter bonding time last night with a chick flick after a rough week at school, and to be honest, I needed it, too. It was lovely to just sit on the couch together while Hugh Jackman wooed Meg Ryan in Kate and Leopold.

Then, this morning with my update typed and ready to go, all of a sudden my computer started screaming that it had a virus. It took Charles three hours and a whole slew of new anti-virus software to fix it.

Meanwhile, my mom and I are plotting a girls' outing in Atlanta. I will say more about that when we have a date and some tickets (it's not the Mary Poppins musical which we are still planning on attending but haven't purchased tickets for yet), but it is something that will probably make me all weepy as it will be a childhood dream of sorts come true for me. More on that later though especially since it entails educating Chelsea on one of my childhood loves. :goodvibes

Now, on to the real update:

Even the best of covert agents must eat on a regular basis, so part of Operation Thirteen Candles must include some places to satisfy our hunger and rest our feet.

Tuesday morning I logged on to our mother organization, Disney World, to make some dining reservations. Armed with my list of potential eating places, I was able to secure exactly what we wanted! So, which restaurants earned spots on our super secret mission?

WOOHOO on snagging some fantastic ADR's!

We have eaten at Le cellier and the love love love the pretzel bread, the soup, and my DS loved the Smore's Desert- it comes on a stick! see...

Yumm......

50's Prime time is definitely an experience- the first time DH ate there he had no idea what he was in for. DH is a big guy- born and bred in Brooklyn, so when we were waiting to be seated DH made a pit stop to the restroom- well of course that is when they called us to be seated. The waiter waited with DS and I for DH to return from the little boys room- as soon as he came out of the bathroom the waiter asked my DH quite loudly if he had remembered to wash his hands.....OMG I thought my DH was going to punch him square in the face! I quickly nudged DH and reminded him that it was part of the shtick! whew crisis averted and we went on to have an amazing dinner...oh and my fave desert was the S'mores once again. These were different than Le Cellier- even better in my opinion!

Congrats! what an awesome trip and amazing memory this is going to be!!!

On a side note- I hope Chelsea has a better week next week! I remember Middle School being torturous, especially 7th grade. I just know as parents that when our children hurt, our hearts hurt twice as much. Sending some pixie dust Chelea's way :tinker:

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: Too funny! I need to make sure to warn Charles and Connor about this beforehand. Hopefully, the waiter will target Chelsea since she will be wearing a birthday button. She is a much better sport.

Oh, seventh grade is the WORST! It was for me, anyway. I hated that year in school. Yesterday one of my other 7th graders came in all despondent and sad because people had been calling her Amazon all day. She is just the sweetest, prettiest girl (she's actually the one who was staying at AKL at the same time as us last year -- I have known her mom for years and she and Chelsea have been friends for just as long). I had to give her a hug because it just broke my heart that she was suffering from other people's meanness and envy of her. :(

Lots of great choices!! :thumbsup2 Very excited about the tea for you and Chelsea. :goodvibes

Looking forward to hearing about your plans for a trip to Atlanta! :flower3:

I'm so glad you and Chelsea had a much needed girls night. Those are the moments that restore the soul!

I can't wait to hear about Atlanta.....

We adored PTC, Jeff actually really wants to go back this trip as he thinks his mom would get a kick out of it and was mildly annoyed I didn't offer it up as an option!

I loved the tuna noodle casserole so much I've been trying to replicate it ever since. We had an incredible CM, who zeroed in on Kendall and Evan (aka Scooter), especially Kendall. Both kids took it really well. Great service, great food, a hit all the way around!

Just skip the pot roast, Taylor didn't love his either and we know how Anita felt about it!

Fun list, we are going to do the Grand Tea as well and I'm looking forward to hearing about your experience with it.

Huge bummer about the virus, I've been fighting with my computer for 2 days now but on different issues and it's just no fun!

So sorry that Chelsea had such a bad week. I may try some mint choc chip and chick flick therapy myself tonight!

Your ADRs look great. What a nice blend of new and familiar. So excited you got Le Cellier! :yay: I have to say that I'm surprised Charles didn't put in a request for Teppan Edo.

Loving the image of a bunch of Italian waiters singing happy birthday to Chelsea! :wizard:

I fought off a Trojan Horse virus from my computer this week...very stressful!
Our computer Helpdesk team at work said that I most likely picked it up doing Google Image searches. I had just finished a project with lots of clip art and such. They said that they like to hide in seemingly innocent locations like images and music files. :scared1: Luckily, between Norton Anti-Virus and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, I was able to catch it. Glad you were safe, too!

Love all your ADRs! We ate at 50s PT and loved it! I got the pot roast and it was really good. Guess they've been skimping on the pot roast since 2008!

Sorry Chelsea had such a bad day yesterday. The girls night was a good idea. :thumbsup2 It's family movie night for us tonight. Guess I need to go to Redbox today while Hannah is at a birthday party to pick the movie.

Can't wait to hear about the trip to Atlanta!

Sounds like lots of good eating! We have done Prime Time several times and have always had great experiences. I booked the 1900 Park Fare breakfast for just me, MeMom and Brooklynn for this summer.

I'm glad the force was with you and you were able to break the code of the mother organization. You got some great ADRs!

I can just taste that cheddar cheese soup. YUM!

I've heard such mixed reviews on 50's that I'll be eagerly awaiting your review.

WOW! Your ADR's look fabulous!!! You have 2 on your list that we haven't done yet, Yak and Yeti and Tutto Itaila. I'd really like to try both at some point! Especially Tutto Itaila, I love good Italian food!

I'm sorry that you and Chelsea had such a bad week! It sounds like your evening was the cure you both needed.

You've got two of my favorites on your ADR list - Le Cellier & Tutto Italia, yum!!! I also think the tea sounds like a perfect way for a mother & daughter to spend the afternoon :goodvibes

Can't wait to hear your Atlanta plans.
