Top Secret Pixie Dust! A Surprise 13th Birthday PTR! NEW! TRIP REPORT LINK PAGE 220!

Wonderful ADRs!!

I am very excited for you. I think it's great that you and Chelsea are going to go to the tea, what a fabulous way to celebrate such an important birthday!

You know, I think I got a camera for my 13th birthday. I'm going to need to discuss this with my parents. Think I can get a belated 13th birthday at the Grand Floridian?

We try not to leave WDW property without another trip already booked.
It's too painful.
I'm hoping to book a bounceback with this trip for my mom and myself. After seeing the pics in LL and Jen's TR I'm seriously considering Port Orleans, just not sure if I want Riverside or FQ. :confused3

This is such an odd coincidence, because DH and I were just discussing Kate and Leopold last night, and how much I love Hugh Jackman in that film.

Because we were watching Someone Like You.

Is this Hugh Jackman week, or what? :lmao:

I think your ADRs look great, and I am confident that you and Chelsea are going to love tea. What a wonderful bonding experience that will be for the two of you.

And good for you for branching out and trying new things! Who knows, you may find some new favorites. :goodvibes

I'm hoping to book a bounceback with this trip for my mom and myself. After seeing the pics in LL and Jen's TR I'm seriously considering Port Orleans, just not sure if I want Riverside or FQ. :confused3

If you will have a car, I would pick Riverside. It spoke to me just a bit more than French Quarter. It's bigger than FQ but it was just so gorgeous.

I'm so glad you and Chelsea had a much needed girls night. Those are the moments that restore the soul!

So very true!!!

I can't wait to hear about Atlanta.....

Hopefully I will be able to write about it today. My dad is dragging his feet in doing what he is supposed to be doing for it, but my mom and I unleashed Chelsea on him last night. He's another one she has wrapped around her little finger. ;)

We adored PTC, Jeff actually really wants to go back this trip as he thinks his mom would get a kick out of it and was mildly annoyed I didn't offer it up as an option!

Good to know! Did you tell him, "Next time"?

I loved the tuna noodle casserole so much I've been trying to replicate it ever since. We had an incredible CM, who zeroed in on Kendall and Evan (aka Scooter), especially Kendall. Both kids took it really well. Great service, great food, a hit all the way around!

Really??? I have less than fond memories of my mother's tuna noodle casserole, so I think I will pass on that option.

Just skip the pot roast, Taylor didn't love his either and we know how Anita felt about it!

I want the fried chicken or the meatloaf. :thumbsup2

Fun list, we are going to do the Grand Tea as well and I'm looking forward to hearing about your experience with it.

When the Easter dresses start making appearances, I am hoping to find something pretty and suitable for Chelsea and me.

Huge bummer about the virus, I've been fighting with my computer for 2 days now but on different issues and it's just no fun!

I hate when technology doesn't work the way it is supposed to!

So sorry that Chelsea had such a bad week. I may try some mint choc chip and chick flick therapy myself tonight!

It works wonders!

Your ADRs look great. What a nice blend of new and familiar. So excited you got Le Cellier! :yay: I have to say that I'm surprised Charles didn't put in a request for Teppan Edo.

Oh, he did, but I told him he could only choose two from his three requests -- he went with Tutto and Le Celllier.

Loving the image of a bunch of Italian waiters singing happy birthday to Chelsea! :wizard:

It will give me an excuse to take their pictures for the trip report. :lmao:

I fought off a Trojan Horse virus from my computer this week...very stressful!
Our computer Helpdesk team at work said that I most likely picked it up doing Google Image searches. I had just finished a project with lots of clip art and such. They said that they like to hide in seemingly innocent locations like images and music files. :scared1: Luckily, between Norton Anti-Virus and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, I was able to catch it. Glad you were safe, too!

Malwarebytes was the one that finally picked it up -- the other two Charles used weren't finding it. Thank goodness my husband knows a little something about computers.

Love all your ADRs! We ate at 50s PT and loved it! I got the pot roast and it was really good. Guess they've been skimping on the pot roast since 2008!

Since I have been on the DIS, I have noticed that everyone has different opinions about restaurants and food -- lots of people don't like Sci-Fi, but I enjoyed our meal there.

Sorry Chelsea had such a bad day yesterday. The girls night was a good idea. :thumbsup2 It's family movie night for us tonight. Guess I need to go to Redbox today while Hannah is at a birthday party to pick the movie.

Can't wait to hear about the trip to Atlanta!

What movie did you watch?

Sounds like lots of good eating! We have done Prime Time several times and have always had great experiences. I booked the 1900 Park Fare breakfast for just me, MeMom and Brooklynn for this summer.

I think it is going to be so fun for the three of you to head to Park Fare -- can't wait to see Brooklyn's interactions with the Mad Hatter and Mary Poppins.

I'm glad the force was with you and you were able to break the code of the mother organization. You got some great ADRs!

I can just taste that cheddar cheese soup. YUM!

I've heard such mixed reviews on 50's that I'll be eagerly awaiting your review.

Thank you! Charles loved that cheddar cheese soup. I am thinking I will need to order the salmon (I am not a big fan of steak). I am looking forward to eating at Prime Time if only to see all the theming!

WOW! Your ADR's look fabulous!!! You have 2 on your list that we haven't done yet, Yak and Yeti and Tutto Itaila. I'd really like to try both at some point! Especially Tutto Itaila, I love good Italian food!

We have eaten at both of those places and enjoyed the food at both of them. We had a bit of an issue at Yak and Yeti where they didn't code our ressie correctly and we ended up waiting to be seated for forever. We liked our experience once we were seated though.

I'm sorry that you and Chelsea had such a bad week! It sounds like your evening was the cure you both needed.

You've got two of my favorites on your ADR list - Le Cellier & Tutto Italia, yum!!! I also think the tea sounds like a perfect way for a mother & daughter to spend the afternoon :goodvibes

Can't wait to hear your Atlanta plans.

We did need our movie night! We loved Tutto and are excited to finally try Le Cellier. I am hoping I can update about our Atlanta plans today if the weather cooperates (we are supposed to get bad storms which does NOT please me -- I hate stormy weather).

our mother organization
I had to laugh at this because when I put my vacation request in for our May trip the reason was "my annual trek to the motherland" :lmao: my boss said he wasn't sure it was my motherland, but I could still have the time off.:lmao:
Doesn't he realize I am a princess?:snooty:

:lmao: Love it! Everyone at work is used to me heading to Disney every chance I get.

:rotfl2:Good one!! I may have to use that in the future! My boss is starting to assume any vacation of mine must involve Disney!

I agree!

More replies on the previous page!

Yummo! What great ADRs. Yak and Yeti was a wet mess in 07 right?

Yes, that was the night it poured, there was a tornado warning, the kids' face paint melted off, and everyone was crowded into Yak and Yeti trying to get a reservation. :headache:

As for Tutto and LeCellier double yummo!

Can't wait!!!

I am on the fence about making an ADR at Park Fare this summer... I am leaning towards a dinner but breakfast would be fun. I totally agree got to have meals at the Grand Floridian. I want a details on the Tea... someday my girls and I will give that a try.

I can see your girls loving the tea in a few years!

Your adr's look fabulous! You will love Prime Time, it is alot of fun and the food is great!

I am very excited that I finally wore Charles down. Hopefully the waiter won't make him sing "I'm a Little Teapot" because I don't think he would ever forgive me. :lmao:

Great ADRs! The only thing I love talking about more than Disney, is eating at Disney!

Me too!

Oh, I was so torn on breakfast or dinner at 1900 PF -- we're doing the dinner so I can't wait to hear about the breakfast. That might be a "next trip" thing.

I hope Chelsea has a better week; middle school was so hard for me, especially seventh grade -- I wouldn't want to repeat those years for anything. I'm glad that you guys got in a good girls' night!

I thought about the dinner, too, but I like the characters at breakfast better.

Seventh grade was the worst for me, too. I wouldn't repeat it for anything!

First of all love that you had a mother/daughter night sounds like it was much needed and much enjoyed!!!

OOOH can't wait to hear all about your weekend in Atlanta with your mom!!!

I am looking forward to sharing all about them!

Hmmm...your ADRs sound fantastic Jackie!!! Very yummy and I can't wait to find out what you are all going to have and how much you enjoy them all!!

You know I have been perusing the menus already. :rotfl:

Yak and Yeti was yet again another fantastic meal for me! I hope you have a great experience there!!

I hope so, too, because our last experience there was less than wonderful.

Fabulous ADRs, CP! :thumbsup2

I just knew you would want to do LeCellier for the Cheddar Cheese soup and finally! 50's Prime Time Cafe!

You will love both!

Kathy

Thank you, Kathy! Both Le Cellier and Prime Time should be great!

Your ADRs sound wonderful! I had a feeling Tutto would be in there! ;)

I had the same thing happend to my computer Thursday!!! It was $125 to get it fixed! :scared1: I wonder if we are getting something from the DIS????

Yes, we wanted to do Tutto again after our delicious meal there last time.

Yikes! I can't believe it cost $125 to fix your computer. I would have been less than pleased!

Your Friday evening sounds quite relaxing. Sometimes you just need to decompress after a long week. Hope you and Chelsea are feeling better.

Great ADRs. Afternoon tea is going to be wonderful.

Are you scheduling in some mother-daughter shopping time?

Thanks, Jen! We are both feeling much better -- hopefully the coming week will be better.

Afternoon tea is going to be heavenly!

Nope, not shopping. :rolleyes1

Yay! What great choices!! I have never tried Yak and Yeti.... I wondered about it for a lunch... I think your choices sound great!!! Love the options, and of course the Tea! How fun! Great plans all around!

Thanks, Happydog! We were a bit torn about Animal Kingdom. We have done the Tusker House breakfast twice, and even though we love it, we wanted something new. Charles was thinking he wanted to try the Tusker House lunch, but I wasn't very excited about that. It was finally the drink menu at Yak and Yeti that sealed it for me. I loved my Avalanche from last time. :lmao:

I am very excited about the tea. I just know I will feel so elegant! ;)

I have Tutto for this summer too, for the first time, we can't wait! You are going to LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE Le Cellier!!! I think your choices are all fabulous for this magical birthday trip!

I hope you love Tutto as much as we did! I have a feeling Le Cellier will become one of our family's favorites -- they do love steak!

I'm so sorry to hear school is being hard for Chelsea. My dd hated 7th grade too. All of the kids are changing and going through a lot. She is in 8th grade and she loves it!
A movie sounds good to me.:thumbsup2 We're making a gingerbread house tonight and then finishing things up with a disney movie.;)
I love all your ADR choices. Prime time is on my list too. I can not wait to hear what you think about it!

Seventh grade is truly the roughest grade, I think. At least we are more than halfway through it.

I saw the gingerbread pics on the other thread (was it MeMom's) -- I will have to remember the Mickey head design for next Christmas! :thumbsup2

I am glad you got some mom and dd time. My mom and I used to have movie nights too. Seventh grade was the worst grade for me too. I hated it and was so glad when that year was over. Your adr's look really yummy. I can't wait to hear about your plans for Atlanta.

The consensus seems to be that seventh grade is truly the pits out of all the school years!

Usually about a month after I get back from a trip the guys start asking me how long until I go back. If I don't have a trip planned yet they act all shocked and start telling me I'm going to have Disney withdrawl.:lmao:

:lmao: I have Disney withdrawal before we even get completely off the property.

It must have been a bad week for 7th graders all around. Jasmyne had a less than stellar week at school also. :sad2: Girls are so mean to each other.

Yes, they are -- I don't understand why either. You would think they could be a bit nicer to each other. :headache:

are you still planning on going the same day as memom, jill and myself (may 1st)? i know heather isn't going to the show since they are going to david copperfield instead (it was a one-or-the-other sorta thing), but they are still meeting us for lunch. but i know when she went to check on tickets for mary poppins for that day that they weren't sold out, but that all that was left was the upper levels. so i hope they still have tickets left! if not, are you still gonna come have lunch with us? I HOPE SO!!!! i hope you get to go to the show that day, but if not, lunch together will be the next-best thing.

We are still planning May 1st, but if we can't get tickets for that day, I will definitely come down for lunch! I can't pass up the chance to meet all of you! :goodvibes

your ADRs look awesome! i want to try the 1900 park fare breakfast and tutto italia. good choices! :thumbsup2

tumbler over and out. :cool2:

Those are two of our repeats and we loved our meals there before!

I was behind, but all cuaght up now! Great ADR's. We love Y&Y and are trying 1900 PF for bkfst and Tutto for dinner in May!

You'll love them both! The Mad Hatter had a lot of fun with Chelsea and Connor back in 2007. They were wearing their pirate mouse ears and he was all about that! :rotfl:

ok you all made me paranoid and so far malware has found 12 infected items...it's been running for a couple of hours...

Darn Norton said it was up to date, I have it running too and it's found 1 thing, I'm guessing since windows pushed an update through last night there is something nasty out there!

So thanks all for the heads up, I seem to have staved it off but am avoiding photobucket today!

Sorry to make you paranoid, but if it meant you found some evil lurkers, I am glad. The anti-virus didn't pick up the malware, but Charles finally found it and got rid of it.

YAY!!! GREAT ADR choices, Jackie!!! :thumbsup2

Thanks, Becky!

We try not to leave WDW property without another trip already booked.
It's too painful.

Maybe that's what I need to start doing because heaven knows I am a sad, sad, sad person on the drive back home.

We are looking forward to the 'Mary Poppas' (yes, Brooklynn speak) May Day Meet! :dance3:

Me too! :woohoo:

1900 will be a new meal marked off of our list this summer. It'll be fun to give Brooklynn a big girl morning that's all about her. :lovestruc We'll do something special for Bella, too, when she's a little older.

Luckily she will be too little this time to know she is missing out on anything. :rotfl:

Wonderful ADRs!!

I am very excited for you. I think it's great that you and Chelsea are going to go to the tea, what a fabulous way to celebrate such an important birthday!

Thank you! I am looking forward to all the good meals and afternoon tea.

You know, I think I got a camera for my 13th birthday. I'm going to need to discuss this with my parents. Think I can get a belated 13th birthday at the Grand Floridian?

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: I got Samantha (the American Girl doll for my 13th birthday). ;)

I'm hoping to book a bounceback with this trip for my mom and myself. After seeing the pics in LL and Jen's TR I'm seriously considering Port Orleans, just not sure if I want Riverside or FQ. :confused3

We stayed at POFQ twice and Riverside once -- my heart belongs to the French Quarter.

This is such an odd coincidence, because DH and I were just discussing Kate and Leopold last night, and how much I love Hugh Jackman in that film.

Because we were watching Someone Like You.

Is this Hugh Jackman week, or what? :lmao:

He is good for the soul. While we were watching the movie, Chelsea cracked me up because she said, "He always seems to ride a horse in his movies. Only this time he is wearing a shirt." She sounded a little disappointed. :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

I think your ADRs look great, and I am confident that you and Chelsea are going to love tea. What a wonderful bonding experience that will be for the two of you.

I think so, too. I thought about doing pedicures at the spa, but they were a little too pricey for me.

And good for you for branching out and trying new things! Who knows, you may find some new favorites. :goodvibes

We always try to schedule some new restaurants on our trips -- last year we did two new ones -- Rose and Crown and Brown Derby. This year, we have three new ones to try.

If you will have a car, I would pick Riverside. It spoke to me just a bit more than French Quarter. It's bigger than FQ but it was just so gorgeous.

I did like Riverside, but French Quarter was so me!

I was thinking mom would probably like the mansions at Riverside better and we usually drive down.

Riverside is pretty -- a very Old South feel.

Great ADR's Jackie:thumbsup2 Love Love Tutto & Le Cellier is a must for us every year!! We are trying Yak & Yeti for the first time this year & also Tusker House.

Cannot wait to hear about your Atlanta plans!! Sounds like it will be very special:cloud9:

What movie did you watch?

We watched Hotel for Dogs. It was a really cute movie! It would have been better if it hadn't been scratched up, which caused the movie to hang up in several places. :headache: Ended up having to skip a few parts because of it.

I got District 9 for Clay and I to watch. Yeah...it was a bit too gory for me so I ended up reading my book. I ended up going to bed before the movie was over.

Thanks, Jen! We are both feeling much better -- hopefully the coming week will be better.

Afternoon tea is going to be heavenly!

Nope, not shopping. :rolleyes1

I hope you have a good week :goodvibes

I may have the opportunity to try the afternoon tea, but not during our August trip :rolleyes1

No shopping? :scared1:

A couple of questions for you:

1. What's the latest time a character breakfast can be scheduled? I'd love to do a brunch as well.

2. The online ADR system lets you make your reservations at 6 a.m.?

I hate when that happens. We checked out The Rescuers from the library awhile back and had the same problem. It drove me nuts!

I got District 9 for Clay and I to watch. Yeah...it was a bit too gory for me so I ended up reading my book. I ended up going to bed before the movie was over.

I don't think I have even heard of that movie.

1. I scheduled our Park Fare breakfast for around 11:00. Not sure how late they take ressies, but that was the latest available.

2. Yes, I was logged on and typing away at 6:00.

subbing to your trip reports and pre trip reports and i will be tight lipped :):cool1:

Welcome!!! Thanks for joining in on all the fun!

Kate and Leopold is one of those movies that I forget about until I see it on TV and then I HAVE to watch it again. :lovestruc Hope it made her feel better after a rough week.

You ADRs look yummy! I need to plan more trips just for the restaurants!

Thanks! Believe it or not we had never seen Kate and Leopold before. Such a cute movie!

Yak and Yeti has a character breakfast?!?! If so it's on the tippie top of my list for next trip!:thumbsup2

Apparently I was delirious when I typed this -- no, Yak and Yeti doesn't have a character breakfast -- I meant to type Tusker House. Sorry! :sad2:

Maybe that's what I need to start doing because heaven knows I am a sad, sad, sad person on the drive back home.

Yeah, book before you leave. That way you can talk about all of the things you got to do, all the things you didn't get to, and all the things you will be putting at the top of your list for the new trip! :cool1:

Have a good Monday. I have been extremely sleepy this weekend, and I'm not having an easy time of stepping away from the computer and getting back into school mode this morning. I wish I could be the kind of person who just calls in at the last minute to stretch this weekend out another day, but I'd feel guilty, so I won't, but I think this is going to be a long Monday.

What a lovely way to leave Disney -- I like that strategy!

Same here. I can never do the last minute call-in unless I don't have a choice. I have a feeling this is going to be a very long Monday! :sad2:
