How do you get there? After I get off the monorail, I have no idea where to go.
What time does it open?
Is the flatbread they serve enough for a meal for one person? I don't want to see the fireworks from there, but I would like to go earlier in the evening for a QS dinner.
Lastly, does anyone know if they take the Tables in Wonderland card?

Go down to the main (4th) floor, go to the BLT entrance, they will direct you from there.

5-mn daily.

Yes.

Good call. Contempo cafe is one of the best qs on property IMO. However TOWL isn't part of the DDP if that is what you're referring to by saying "qs meal". If you were just using that as a bucket term for "quick meal" disregard this comment...

Lastly, does anyone know if they take the Tables in Wonderland card?

No

The TOTWL does offer the TiW discount. I've used mine there many times. It's not listed on the TiW website since the lounge is not open to the general public.

From DVCMember.com:
Disney Vacation Club Members staying at any Disney-owned-and-operated hotel at Walt Disney World Resort (whether they booked with vacation points or cash) may enjoy access to one of the vacation kingdom's most exclusive spaces: the Top of the World Lounge atop Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort through December 29, 2013 (blockout dates in 2013 are July 3 and 4, and December 30 and 31). Current operating hours are 6 p.m. to midnight.

This perk is available exclusively to Members and those in their traveling party who are staying on that Member's reservation. At least one Member in the traveling party must accompany the group and present his or her current Key to the World card displaying a Disney Vacation Club Membership notation in order to gain admission to the lounge. If the Member's Key to the World card doesn't display a Membership notation, a Disney Vacation Club Member ID is required in addition to the Key to the World card to verify Membership.

Note that Members traveling from other Resorts must use Walt Disney World Transportation, as parking is unavailable to anyone not staying at Bay Lake Tower or Disney's Contemporary Resort. Upon arrival, Members must walk to the Bay Lake Tower main lobby entrance on the ground floor and check in at the Top of the World Lounge desk in the lobby.

This special Top of the World Lounge access is available on a first-come, first-served basis until the lounge reaches capacity. As the lounge is particularly popular during the Magic Kingdom fireworks, arriving as early as possible will give Members the best chance of gaining admission.

How to get there from the monorail...

Once you're on the Contemporary Building (you have to go down from the monorail level) -- walk all the way back and cross the bridge/walkway to BLT. You'd be on the 5th floor of BLT.

Take the elevator all the way down to the ground level/lobby of BLT. From there, you will go to concierge/TotWL desk, show your KTTW and DVC Member ID and he'll give you a paper. You walk down the hallway to the set of elevators that go up to TotWL, give the CM the paper and she'll bring you straight up.

Thanks for the info on TiW. Checking in at the "Main lobby" of BLT is exactly my concern. Last time I was there, the door to the main lobby from outside was kept locked and only if you were staying there could you use your key to unlock the door. So how am I supposed to get into the lobby? Also, I appreciate knowing that it doesn't open until 6:00. I was thinking it opened at 4:00, as most lounges seem to, and would have had a long wait if I got there then!

They have a check-in desk at BLT now so the doors into the lobby are no longer locked.***

*** ETA: See erionm's post below -- doors are locked when check-in desk closes for the evening.

Once the TOTWL opens, either the ground floor main door will be unlocked or there will be a CM watching for non-resort guests and letting them in to check-in for the TOTWL.

The are not unlocked all the time. The BLT check-in desk is only open from 7 AM to 10 PM.

Since they put a check in desk in the BLT lobby the front door is not locked. It may be locked late at night but when you want to go it will be open. I really enjoy the TOWL...both for watching the fireworks and also as a quiet area to relax with an adult beverage and look out at the Castle.

TOWL opens at 5, not 6 unless something changed recently?

It changed in May. :( The info everywhere was still saying 5 so I waited until then and headed down so I could get taken up and get a food and drink. That's when I was informed of the change.

I will arrive at VWL on Dec 29th -Jan. 4. We would love to visit the lounge, but are doing CP & Epcot on the 29th. Do you think they will open it back up to DVC members staying at other resorts after the 1st? I think DH & I would enjoy a little quiet time with an adult beverage after the holidays!

Thanks for the info, I didn't realize it had changed.

We are going in 2014 and would love to go. Do you guys think this will go into 2014?

When we stayed there back several years ago, the policy was that you had to be staying at BLT and an owner. I am glad they have loosened up a bit. Going to the lounge to watch the fireworks was one of the highlights of my trip that year.

My parents have been traveling to WDW since the very beginning. My Father fondly recalls a drink originally made at the Monorail Club Car - one of the original bars located inside of the Contemporary Resort - called the "Monorail Yellow". There are other similiar drinks - Monorail Red and Black, maybe a handful of other "colors" as well.

Long story short, my Father hasn't enjoyed a Monorail Yellow since the Club Car closed many moons ago. That all changed at TOTWL this past May, when to my Father's delight, he learned that these drinks were still available. The bartender mixed one up and handed the glass to my father. The look on his face immediately told us all that it was just as he had remembered it from so many years ago.

TOTWL was a very cool experience for our family, and we will always cherish that particular moment.

This is a wonderful story. Thank you for sharing it.

How great! But it's nothing on the menu is it? That's a pet peeve of mine for what they've done at virtually all the bar locations - made the bar menus generic. So if someone hadn't had the Monorail Yellow before they'd never get to try it out.

Off topic, but I know you can get a Salmon Run at the WL pool bar just by asking. I've done that since they went to the generic menus. We need a list of all the old drinks.
