Just signed up for 200 points at BCV. Sending us all the paperwork, so that we can become official members. One question came to mind that I forgot to ask my guide, and figured this esteemed group would have the answer. During non-premium time of year (x-mas, spring break, etc.), what is the shortest window I can expect to be able to get a reservation at one of the resorts, in case I wanted to take an unexpected trip.

Thanks for all the info on the boards. I look forward to being a member of this great group of folks

I would bet the day of check-in is not impossible during slow times, at OKW.

I think I speak for most when I say we will enjoy having you!

You can almost always get a villa at OKW with very short notice for those unexpected/unplanned trips. Enjoy!!!!!

Dear jkscpa:

WELCOME HOME

During non-premium time of year (x-mas, spring break, etc.)

I thought that these were the most premium times, and usually book up several months out. They do get a few cancellations, so it is possible to get a room a few days out.

Congratulations and welcome home!

For Xmas and Spring Break, I'd recommend booking at 11 months out day by day if you're set. I'd think you'd have a tough time out even at 7 months. OKW might or might no be available for what you want.

CONGRATULATIONS AND WELCOME HOME!''
I WOULD BOOK ANY TRIP YOU WISH TO TAKE - ESPECIALLY AROUND THE 1ST 2 WEEKS OF DEC AND SPRINGBREAK/EASTER - AT THE 11 MONTH WINDOW AND AT THE 7MONTH WINDOW I WOULD SEE IF I COULD SWITCH TO ANOTHER RESORT IF THE ONE YOU HAVE IS NOT YOUR FIRST CHOICE.

My advice is to call and book something before you make your airline reservations. :teeth: :teeth:

FWIW, the lower point seasons are often more difficult to book than the higher-point summer season. As the others have said, you can generally expect to get something though, especially if you are willing to stay at any of the DVC WDW resorts and are flexible with your dates. Sixty days ahead of arrival, unreserved point inventory is often "shared" with CRO (to be offered to the public for cash).

Congratulations and welcome home!

I believe it is 5 months out that they open up to the public(cash customers). I would not expect to get much choice after that unless you are talking the dead time of year like Jan, May, or Sept. Some people have stated OKW. I am a member there and I can not really tell you because I have no experience in that arera.

While there are not guarentees. (Like I still cannot get any reservation for the first week of Dec). I was able to get a reservation at OKW one year on a 3 day notice for a weekend in Nov.

CONGRATULATIONS AND WELCOME HOME
