The dynamics of our family changed dramatically. We became grandparents and DGC came in 3 successive 12 month periods and within a very short time after that, the whole family was willing to fly, and spend time in WDW together. So, we have more points than we anticipated buying in '03. I do not think that we will be keeping all of the points until 2042. We are more in the "live for today" mode. We have found firsthand that everyone ages differently, and unexpected things happen. My DMom for whom we began our
DVC purchase, cannot travel anymore. She had over 20 nights in various DVC resorts over a 3 year period...now when we mention Disney she smiles and I hope she remembers, but she says "its not for me." She's 88 and when she was 86, we were at VWL with friends, and she told me to "buy 25 points for me, so I can help pay my way when I come." She came for about 12 more days, the following year, '06. I sure wish she could come again with us.
Those 25 points will always be refered to as hers...was she too old? She was 86 and was so happy, she told everyone about Disney timeshares and how she was enjoying them.
