Too Early to plan for Oct....2010?

Hi All,
We last went to WDW in 10/07 for DD's 3rd b-day, and have been itching to get back ever since. (No surprise there, right?) We have finally decided on Oct 2010. When do reservations open up for then? What can we do now in the meantime besides saving?

I don't know the date when you can book, but you could call Disney and ask that question. If I were you, I would start looking at the October, 2009 calendar which is available now and start planning what you want to do. The schedule is pretty consistent from year to year. That way you can determine how many days you want to stay. Then look at any planning information you can get your hands on and determine where you want to stay and whether you will drive or fly. Then you can determine how much money you need to save. Then, remember to read the October 2009 trip reports as they come in and decide where you want to eat. To me planning is almost fun as going! It's never to early to start planning.

LOL...I'm laughing because I want to start "planning" for our December 2010 trip!!! We last went 11/08 and it has taken everything I have to stay off the boards for a little while!!! But here I am!!! And I agree with pp...planning is soooo much fun!!!

DH and I are already discussing a trip for October 2010! LOL We want to take Chaeli for the Halloween celebration and it will be right after her 3rd birthday.

What dates where you looking at ? I think it's like 9moths out. We have already started planning as this years trip has been canceled due to an unexpected but very wanted pergnancy ( I'm due 2 weeks BEFORE we would go) We are planning on doing a DVC transfer of points and will put the request out in Jan. But I'v already started looking at what we want to do ADR's and things for the kiddo's

Oct-Nov 2010 BWV or BCV 2bdrm and a studio for me, DH( who will return from deployment in late Sep.),DD2.5 and DS1, BBF,BBFDS,DMIL,DFIL. IT WILL BE A BLAST!

We usually go every year, but are skipping this year (unless we get some unexpected riches!) So, our next trip is for Oct 2010. We are going to go to Universal first to see the Harry Potter park, and then head to WDW for a few days.

Try to plan the Halloween party for your trip. We did that a couple of years ago and had a blast!

Even though the trip is far away, you should familiarize yourself with the prices of hotels and plane tickets. That way, when a cheap offer comes your way, you can jump on it.

Have fun planning, and we'll see you there! What hotel are you planning on staying in? We're thinking of the Contemporary, but we may go with the Boardwalk. Not sure yet.

You are all making me feel less weird about thinking ahead for my October 2011 trip ...

At least I can find out roughly how much it will cost, what extras (character meals? Halloween party? tours?) we might want, and saving up frequent flyer miles, rewards, etc.

We're hoping to go next summer in June/July 2010, if we can save enough money. I'm planning like we're going! I'd start planning if I were you!

I am starting to plan our Oct 2010 trip!!!! Getting an idea of where to stay and potential plans while we are there, budget etc...don't worry you are not strange...at least not here! Have a great trip and maybe I'll see you there!

Haha, I am already planning for December 2010. DH and I sat down last night and priced the package we want on this year's rates to give us a ballpark. I also know we will drive down and we want to stay at Carribean Beach. We have a list of ADR's we want and I also want to take dd to BBB. I am so excited for it, and I agree....planning is part of the fun!!

LOL I'm having a hard time not talking everyone's ear off about our Dec 2010 trip as well!! I'm just so excited ... we are going with my SIL and her hubby and 4 kids - it is our "Magical Family Christmas"!

LOL My husband is always telling me "Focus on getting one vacation done b4 you start planning the next." I want to take a Disney Cruise next year (our first cruise ever) and he isnt a boat person (unless he can fish), so I am trying to figure out a way to show him its not that bad. But, the least we are doing is a non disney vacation to Ohio next year for the 4th of July for the family, and possibly following it with a 5 day trip for just the 2 of us somewhere romantic for our anniversary.

How in the world are you getting your tickers to actually work?? LOL ... my weight loss ticker always looked fine when I put it in...but then my the next day it showed the same thing as my countdown ticker (instead of weight loss). That happened 3 days in a row, so I just deleted it. Sheesh...

That's exactly why I'm here!! I just can't wait! One of the reasons we are waiting so long is that I'm hoping to convince some family to join us down there, but also b/c DS is now 8 months old, and I really don't want to take a baby. Next year DD will be 6 and he will be almost 2--old enough to appreciate it if not remember it.

I am also planning for October 2010 for our sons 3rd b-day! I am starting to plan like we are going...I already know we are going to stay at AKL villas with my parents. Planning a Disney vacation is almost half the fun, so there is never a time to plan too early

Last time we stayed at CSR. We liked it well enough, but the walkways and outside of the rooms were very buggy and we seemed to be right next to a marsh--are all of the resorts like that? I think this time we will stay at Port Orleans French Quarter--I like the idea of being able to take the boat to DD.

Coming from the UK we can book earlier and I have booked our oct 2010 trip. We are staying at the beach club and we are really excited.
