The only time I have taken stuff with me is when flying to Europe because I check bags there as it's longer trips - an no fee for checked bags internationally.
I refuse to pay for checked bags domestically unless there is absolutely no way to pack into a carry-on (and I'm a pro at packing in carry-on bags - I've packed for a 7-night running cruise in Alaska with 2 days on the front end and 1 day on the back end using only carry-ons). And the only thing worse than paying for checked bags for me is dealing with Southwest who consistently ends up choosing to do something elective (they admit it's elective and not necessary for operations) that delays me 5, 6, or more hours - never flying them again.
I am the complete opposite. I hate trying to fit everything I want into one small carry on bag. Or worse, not being able to bring everything I want.
Me and 4 of my friends did Nashville in February. Half the group kept telling us to do carry ons. Save money. It’ll be great. Well it was awful. The 3 of us said Never again. The other two swear by it.
I would rather pay for convenience and comfort. But I’m also brand specific on what I use on my skin and hair. And I like options when it comes to clothes and shoes.
