I am a traditional scrapbooker at heart. I have seen infomercials about the Cricut and wonder...what are the pros and the cons of it? What do you like best about it? Worst?

TIA!!!

The phrase 'not to Cricut' should never be muttered LOL. I LOVE my Cricut and I just got it last week. I have made birthday cards in a pinch (even though I am not a card maker but would like to be now) and have done about 20 pages all using my Cricut. I love it so much and it has come in handy for my kids as well. My son has a project due next week that we will use the machine for. A great buy all around.

Oh you need a Cricut if you are a scrapbooker. You'll love it. I had the original Cricut for a little over 2 years and just got my Pink Expression in August. I would go straight for the E if I were you.

one of the best reasons to get a cricut is that you will NEVER need to by letter stickers again, I hated running out of e's and having to buy a whole new sheet just for a few letters. I use mine almost everyday and not just for scrapbooking -- you will find a ton of reasons to use it -- letters for buildboards, holiday decorations, numbers on my mailbox, cute vinyal on my car, decorations for the kids rooms, gifts for teachers --- it is so much fun -- i have the expression and i take it with me to crops
i have a hard time scrapbooking without it
the only down side -- is that i dont have more time to spend with it.

The best thing about it is - it's easy to learn and easy to use. I used to hand cut my titles - this is MUCH faster, easier, tidier, and the end result looks better.

The worst thing about it is - they keep coming out with new carts that I just HAVE to have. I have a subset of 'go to' carts, but gotta have the others anyway.

I have to agree with all of the above. Once I got it and started using it, I can no longer imagine being without it. I also have the Expression and take it to every crop that I go to. It is indespensable to me! I never expected that!

I just got my cricut last week and I love it already. Today I used it to cut all the letters for the start of my Disney album. I was always a stamper then a cutter, and this is so much easier and looks much better as well. It really is a fun toy.

On the recommendations of one of the messages here, I bought mine from Home Shopping Network. If you are a new customer you can get a 15 percent discount. They have great bundles. I get my cartridges from ebay and they are averaging from 22 to 28 dollars depending of what you buy.

I got mine for Christmas last year, I got the "E" , it took me a while to get it out of the box. Once I did, I fell in love. I have many stamp sets, that I still use and many paper piecieng patterns that I still use and cut by hand, but this is a fantastic tool.

Last Thanksgiving, I noticed that M's had the cartridges on sale for 29, I went and picked up a few knowing that I would eventually get one. They were open from 6-9 , I am hoping for the same last year!

Ditto to everyone! I love my Cricut. I love never running out of supplies and being able to have more freedom...not being a slave to what is available. The only negative is that it does have a learning curve with it. You have to get used to all of the settings and things. Just play with it for a while after you get it and you will get the hang of it. Go for the Big E and have fun!

P.S. I am also hoping for the M's deal on Thanksgiving day. I got a couple carts last year and I would like to do the same this year. :rotfl: Merry Christmas to me! :santa:

Another vote for getting one! I started with the small and moved to the Expression, which I love! My best suggestion would be to find tutorials to help you understand everything it does. I am a visual person, and it helps me to see it in action. A blog I visit is www.mypinkerstamper.com. She has many videos demonstrating the cricut.

Thanks everyone for all your input! So, it seems like I need to start saving up for a Cricut after all!!! :thumbsup2

Is that link not quite right or is it operator error ? I got one of those error pages.
