To Cirque or Not to Cirque???

Has anyone done Cirque at Disney World? Is it worth the $$? How about with a DD5? DH and I keep going back and forth and need the "experts" to help us decide! THANKS!

I know it's rather pricey, but you will not see anything quite like this anywhere else. It is most likely the best live show you will see while at Disney and is well worth the money.

Cirque du Soleil is expensive but well worth the money. I love the show, and a routine expression I hear from other people is that it's the best show they've ever seen. The acrobatics, dance and music flow together into a unique, mesmerizing, memorable show. Kids 5 and older enjoy it, but go to the restroom before the 90 minute show! Since some of the show happens above the audience, seats behind the central horizontal walkway provide viewing that is easier on your neck.

I second that! My DH HATES anything theatrical, etc. He was in awe at La Nouba. We love it! We are going again this year. We loved it so much that we went to Vegas and saw O and Mystere that same year. Definetly do it. Your 5 year old weill be amazed.

La Nouba was the first Cirque show we ever went to and we're totally hooked now! It is one of the most amazing things you will ever see and well worth the money in my opinion. I've never met anyone who has been to a Cirque show and was not in awe afterwards. Definitely go.

I would certainly go. I have never seen a show like it. Everyone seems to enjoy it, have never seen a negative view of the show on the boards.

We loved Cirque and hope to go again. There is so much to see and several things happening simultaneously most of the time.

As far as your DD5, can she sit still for 90 minutes?
We didn't take our youngest DS with us since we knew his attention span wasn't that long.
Can she not talk for 90 minutes?
There were two little boys two seats behind us that commented on everything! The two dads would give long explanations. It was very distracting.
And most importantly, can she not go to the restroom for two hours?
There was an incredibly long line for the women's room after the show. In addition, the show is so good, I wouldn't want to miss any of it. I only remember seeing two parents taking kids out during the whole show.

It is unbelievable. I'm a clock-watcher and looked at my watch for the first time and was in shock. There were only 10 minutes left!

My DD5 and I watched a couple on Bravo (don't know which ones) and that is what peaked her interest. I am pretty sure we are going to try it, so I will try to remember to post when we get back and let you know how it goes!

Apparently Cirque is coming to St. Louis for a show, I caught the tail end of a commercial on the radio yesterday and it said for further details go to Cirque du Soleil dot com.

I had to use Steven's post for the spelling, but I wonder how many people are typing away on their computers...

Cirque du Soleil is worth EVERY penny. And while it may cost MANY pennies to attend this show - GO if you can afford it.

I am a fan of Cirque. My kids (ages 7 and 9) are also fans. My wife enjoyed the few shows she saw on Bravo but was never a diehard fan. That was until, she saw it in person.

La Nouba is so entertaining. We chose to see if the first night we were in Disney to start our vacation. It was truly a highlight and if given the opportunity, I would see it again and again. We opted for the slightly more expensive seats. It put is about 5 rows back and dead center. I do believe however that every seat offers a great view. There is so much going on that you will be mesmorized.

Our only dissapointment was when it ended........we wanted more!

I have yet to see La Nouba (got tickets for October!), but I did see Dralion when they came to Boston, and without a doubt, the show was worth the money! You'll never see anything like it (unless you see their other shows, of course) and I'm sure you and your family will enjoy the experience. You don't even need to get the category 1 tickets, because pretty much every seat is great. I actually prefer to sit farther away from the stage, because you can see everything better from there.

The shows on Bravo don't begin to do justice to the live performances. It's like looking at a picture of a delicious ice cream cone instead of eating it!!!!

if you do not see Cirque it is only because you are an evil, demented, boorish, child depriving, heartless mean spirited ghoul of a human being!!!!!!!!

- ok for real - you will quite enjoy the show - it is not "circus" - it is a visual extravaganza - don't prep your kid by saying you are going to a circus... I made that stupid mistake... when the show started my little girl looked at me like.."what? what the...is this dad?...where's the elephants?" ...after a few minutes she warmed up and thought it was pretty neat. well worth the 75 or 80 bucks a head

Cirque is amazing! We've seen it 2 times and plan on seeing it many more!
we also saw Alegria when it came to Houston and it was good as well!

this last time we saw it, we were 2nd(i think...maybe it was 3rd) row and it was AWESOME! I wanna sit that close up all the time...I noticed so much more about all the performers and such and saw lots of stuff!

How does the Orlando show compare to Mystere and O in Las Vegas?

I was wowed by Mystere, but had too high of expectations for O. Still a good show, though.
