whgrn, congrats on the job and I'm so glad Duke is doing better.

LITC, I always send my cards late. And that's when I remember to send them.

What????? No breakfast in bed????? How am I supposed to enjoy my holiday without breakfast in bed. Yeesh.

Just a quick note to let everyone know we made it back. The kids have been planning my every minute but the first chance I can I hope to get a few minutes to add a little detail on our trip. Been trying to upload photos and work on my photopass when time allows. Off to a Jiu-Jitsu tournament tomorrow. DS's birthday is Sunday so I have got to get his cake made and gifts wrapped plus wrap all the Christmas gifts. Maybe I will be back sometime before the end of the year! God bless you all and just in case I don't I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas!

Good afternoon!

No snow for us. It's been mostly cloudy here with a temp of 24 degrees or so. Have plans to go out with the family for pizza and then maybe check out a couple of stores just to see how the crowds are. DS12 decided he wants to buy DS8 a Christmas gift. Not sure what he wants to get so he'll probably look around and DS8 hasn't decided if he wants to get anything for DS12 or not. Nothing like leaving it for the last minute!

I've been watching some Disney shows on the Travel channel this afternoon. The one with Samantha Brown is on right now. After that will be Disney during the Holidays.

Welcome back Marie! Can't wait to hear all the details of your trip. I posted the first day of my trip just the other day and hopefully will add my second day soon.

I've been getting lots of cards the last couple of days. I just love it!

Good evening ladies. No snow here yet...but I'm scared! We're not supposed to get nearly as much as those of you in Jersey and Pa, but I live in some strange weather vortex, and if the nearby areas get a few inches of the white stuff, we get nearly twice that!

Don't you worry though...have plenty of bread, eggs, and milk. and since I'm Filipino, rice is a must-have too!

LITC...what a gorgeous little man! And I see his hair is coming in beautifully. He looks like a doll! How wonderful he must be for the holiday.

I missed you Bopsmom, but I do hope you're having a safe trip and have a wonderful time!

M&N! I missed you so much, dearie. Glad to hear the trip was fantastic. Want to hear more, more, more about it. Sorry you came back to such frigid temps and a blizzard!

Marie...you're back too! Sounds like you came back to a full schedule though. Can't wait to hear how you liked WDW in comparison to DL.

Hey, JOCA, how is the weather on your side? You ready to be snowed in? Where is DH? I hope he's home with your family and will stay there until well after the holidays.

I ventured to the mall yesterday. The parking lot was strangely full and busy, but the mall itself wasn't too bad. EXCEPT that all the machines that you use to swipe credit cards, debit cards or verify checks were down! I wasn't using any of those so it wasn't a problem for me, but the lines were outrageous! For the most part, I'm done for the holiday, and am planning to spend tonight wrapping.

The Muppets holiday special is on tonight! Woo hoo! I've never watched it so I'm super duper excited....

LITC, that baby Walter is tooooo darned cute!

We are up to 9.5 inches. 3.5 fell in just one hour from 7:30 - 8:30!! It is snowing really hard. The forecast here is for 15-20 inches. Church has already been cancelled for tomorrow, and I'm betting that DD won't have swim practice tomorrow night either.

Here's a picture from the back porch. That thing that looks like a snow-covered Bundt cake is our fire pit!

We Got to meet D&D and her boys last night. I wish we could have visited longer-she has such a great family!

It's been a crazy week but I think we're finally back on track...shopping is finally done, just some baking to do this week. Since the kids are home this week that's probably a good thing!! They are already complaining that their bored!!

Hope all you northeasters aren't too buried in snow...we still only have a dusting but are expecting a bit today.

We just got back from my DH's retirement party. He got a congratulatory letter from Obama. He also got a plaque with a piece of metal representing the test track. Even I got a certificate thanking me for my support of my husband. He only has 6 working days left.

Well, the snow finally stopped overnight and we ended up with 16 inches. We are all plowed out. DS is heading out into the snow for the 2nd time, but DD has the good sense to stay inside!

Here are some pictures I took this morning:

DS shoveled a path for the dog so he could get to the grass where he does his business. No way, said the dog, and p**ped on the porch!

I'm just hoping DD's swim practice is canceled tonite, as i really don't want to go out in this!

Did anyone see that Brittany Murphy from clueless died from cardiac arrest at 32????? OMG, that is only a year older than me. Freaky. I wonder if she was starving herself. She looked so gaunt in some recent photos. Sad.

I can't believe the snow you got Wendy! The coast of NH got a couple of inches from that storm but I'm located mid NH and close to the VT border so we saw nothing. Not even a little flake.

DL55, it is a male thing isn't it! They each picked out something for the other last night. Now all they have to do is wrap them. DS12 also needed a gift for a Yankee Swap they are having a school. $5 was the limit so he found the game Yahtzee for $5. I think that was a very good choice.

Magikitty, DS12 got DS8 a small Lego set. It goes with a bigger set that I got DS8 for Christmas. DS8 got DS12 a cap gun. It's to replace one that he had but got broken.

LITC, as always a cute boy!

Even though the temps have warmed up a little I am still freezing! Had to sleep with a tee, fleece pj pants, socks and a sweatshirt. I also had an extra fleece blanket on my bed. Finally got warm.

Got a call this evening asking me to work tomorrow as a classroom aide. I guess the sub that was suppose to be in couldn't be and then another sub who usually fills in for that sub was also unavailable so the secretary (who is suppose to be on leave do to a medical procedure) called me. Tomorrow should be an easy day as the kids have practice for their Holiday Concert at two different times. Hopefully I didn't just jinx myself.

Evening ladies! so, the blizzard of 09 is thankfully over, but in my neck of the woods, we're calling it the blizzare! Woke up to barely two inches of the white stuff out there. Huh??? How'd that happen?

Wendy, those pics are amazing. Its what I"m used to around here. Stay warm and no slipping please!

Bopsmom and D&D met up! That just warms my heart. We really are so much more than internet friends...I hope they're having the bestest time!

Pikester...sounds like the boys are going to have a wonderful holiday!

LITC...I did see the info about Brittany Murphy. How sad for her family at this time of year. And so young! We'll have to wait for the official results from the autopsy, but at her age, I think it would either be from stress from being underweight or some sort of exogenous habits. What a loss.

Still waiting from some deliveries of gifts, but once those arrive, I am officially ready for Christmas! My SIL is planning the big family dinner, and we're going to the early Christmas eve mass on Thursday. Now just to enjoy the wonderful days of Christmas and the great holiday specials I love so much. Oh! And Italian Christmas cookies...I can't get enough of them (which is probably a problem, but we'll think about that later....)

What a difference a year makes...last year at this time we were buried in snow...today it's Wendy!!

I just found out my neighbour, who I've know since Grade 7 lost her brother on Sat...he died of a heart attack at 42!! I'm heading down there with some food shortly...it definitely is going to be a hard visit.

The kids are off this week and already driving me crazy...is it too early for wine??

Pikester I had a cap gun when I was a kid (no stereotyping in my house ) but my mom took the caps. It was a very quiet cap gun.
MagiKitty Be happy with just a few inches. Winter has just begun.
LITC I thought Brittany looked a little thin but I have seen worse. It is sad and she was much younger than me. Makes me want to really enjoy each day I have.
BKMETV So sorry about your neighbor. That is really tough to lose a brother that young. (re: wine..it's 5:00 somewhere )
