g-g-g-good m-m-m-m-morning all, from NJ where it is BLOODY FREEZING!! It was 19 when the kids left for school, and they are forecasting snow over the weekend. I know some of you have it MUCH colder, and you have my sympathy, believe me. I wore my fur coat to the eye doctor this morning and never took it off the whole time I was there (over an hour) because it was so cold IN the office! Brrrrrrrrrrr!!
i've gotten some lovely cards from my wonderful TK friends! MK your photos are adorable! Love yours too M&N! Anyone who didn't get a card from me yet, PM me your address and I'll send it out. Same with e-cards--I sent them to everyone whose email address I have, so if you didn't get one, I don't have your email.
I don't think I posted this already--I am officially employed starting in January!! I've been approved by the school board for a school nurse position (just a sub, but that's fine by me) and I go in on the 12th for orientation! It's only taken about 2 years to go through the whole process, so of course now I need to redo my CPR certification, but that's no big deal.
Duke seems to be responding well to his new meds--I noticed there was even some food left in his dish after he ate this morning. And when I came home he grabbed a toy and wanted to play! Not bad for 4 doses of medicine!
I have decided that after the holidays I am returning to a no wheat, no dairy, no eggs, no white stuff regimen. I will do it for a month, and then allow only very small, occasional amounts of those things. I've realized that i just feel better when I don't have them. My sinuses have been a mess this fall, and I'm tired all the time, like before I eliminated this stuff last time. I will miss my dear friends cheese and yogurt, but they will be OK as once in a while treats. I guess it's worth the tradeoff. The nice thing is that I will lose the 10 pounds I've found over the past few months, and maybe my pants will fit a little better!
My sister just told me that my niece has been accepted to Northeastern on early decision! She has no plans to go there, but being accepted was a big deal. Apparently my sister's SIL (a real piece of work!) paid some guy thousands of dollars to help them navigate the college admissions process for her daughter. My sister had offered to do it for free, but they wanted the "expert". Well, DSis did the navigating for my niece, and she got in early, where her cousin just got in with the regular admissions! So my sister is gloating just a little bit! My niece has been accepted to about 8 colleges, most of them offering her a nice financial aid package. But she's already decided on Drexel, and we don't even know what they are offering! I'm just glad she'll be relatively close to us (about 1.5 hours) and even closer to my parents (45 minutes).
Well, keep warm everyone. I'm so glad Bopsmom is taking me to Disney soon! BTW, if I'm in Texas, why do I still feel so cold???
