That's good though! That means its near the shopping! :cool1:

Speaking of Halloween...At Walgreens I got a plastic Mickey pumpkin head for trick or treating. I'm going to put the candy I give away in it. I also got a wooden Mickey pumpkin decorating kit. It's got the pieces you stick into a real pumpkin. Mickey has fangs and his little black cape collar at his neck. It is so cute. I wish I could make it now!

Man, I should be the better person and just walk away. I don't know why I'm the big baddie on the transportation thread, maybe its the way I "talk". I keep getting snarky unnecessary responses from people. It really peeves me.

I don't like being spoken down to and I don't like having to defend myself. I am not going to back down from meatheads. I'm probably taking this way too much to heart, but darn if I'm not steaming right now.

Grr....:sad2:

Thanks Kerrie! I really needed that.

How are you and the kids doing?

HI Everyone! Still trying to "get over" my weekend encounter w/ family. Sometimes I think they are toxic as I end up leaving all get togethers feeling worse about myself than when I arrived. :guilty: To top everything all off, at my niece's b-day party, my sister's MIL came over to me and was grilling me on how I could get a VP job w/o my administrator's license. :sad2: Yes...a child's b-day party is the perfect place to bring that up. And...ITS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!!!!! Even though I will have to attend classes eventually, learning Spanish is more the priority at school. Plus it is work I have done before anyway. :headache: Good gravy. I guess my sis sure fits in well with her new family.

I have about 12 days before my ADR window opens and I don't have a clue as to what/where to go for meals. :confused3 I am one of those people that don't know what they want to eat until they are hungry and it drives DH nutz.

We think we may do DDP for a change and just eat Breakfast/snacks at the Villa. Not knowing if Free Dining is such a great time to test this out though. Does it make a difference if the reservation is OOP or DDP?

We are at the Boardwalk so I figure Epcot TS are good but we can go anywhere really. I've never been to DTD ever.
DD wants to eat at LTT once and I would like to try for Cali once. Any other suggestion? We went to WhisperCanyon (meh) last Christmas Eve but maybe Cali this year?
We've been to LeCeiler before for lunch and it was good but maybe a dinner would be too?
What are some of ya'lls favorites? Is Beirgarten good? We have Hopper passes and can go to any park fairly easily. What about the place in Japan, is it fun?
We'd might like to try the new place on the Boardwalk since DD loves Greek and you know how DH and I feel about wine.:thumbsup2 if anyone goes first let me know.
What about the Park Fair(?) at the GF for dinner?
Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated. I will know more about what parks I will be in if that would help in ya'll giving advice.
Our dates we'll be at WDW may be changing because I cannot get decent airfare flying out on Friday or Sat. (times are very bad too.) Anyway, we may be leaving a day later and possibly staying til Sunday. :yay: (What a shame hey??) We may be able to hook up after all. I'll keep ya posted. :woohoo::woohoo:

Hello TKers! Have a little surprise for you all!!Walter Frank decided to join us early, Friday September 4, 2009 at 10:49pm. He weighed in at 8 pounds 1 ounce and is 20 inches long. He was 4 weeks early, but a wonderful surprise. He is gorgeous and perfect and I am in love! Will try to start stopping in more, but we will see how tired I am!!
LITC.... He is adorable!!!!!:lovestruc Enjoy every min. as they grow up so fast. Congratulations!!!!!:banana:

My husband's favorite place to eat is Ohana's. He's a meat and potatoes kind of guy and any place that brings skewers of meat to your table is a hit with him.
Mmmm...now that sounds like my kind of place. I too love the meat/potatoes kind of meals. Especially a good steak. DH loves Italian food or any pasta dish. Funny thing when we go out is the waiter will always give me his food as he assumes my DH ordered the huge steak. :lmao: We may have to try that place on our next visit.

Nephew just called. Just got out of grand jury something. Went well, they're going for the trial. Should start sometime in December. Didn't have to face the crazy roommate. Very good.
Will be praying for him as he continues to go through this ordeal.

Hi Little Walter...great name for a guy who lives in a castle! :cool1:

I'm beginning to realize 60 isn't old either...at least that's what I told myself all day the day I turned 59! :rotfl:
I thought you had to kill 1 thread a month! :rotfl:

My point of view---What did they do to deserve a wonderful, caring person like YOU?

1.Prince Walter has a nice ring to it.
2.Sixty isn't old either. Age is a state of mind. :thumbsup2
3. Awww...thanks M&N.

Bless his heart. I love my BF. I sent him to the Disney store to try to pick up some Halloween trick or treat bags. They were sold out but the nice CM told him to go to some party store that sells them. He just called and asked "Mickey or Tinkerbell?". He bought me two Mickeys!

Did I tell you guys that this will be my first trick or treat experience?
What a nice BF!!!

Yes, you have to say trick or treat before they dump oodles of candy into your bag. When we went to MNSSHP a few years back, they were literally dumping leftover bags of Hershy Kissables into our bag.:scared1: Had enough for my DS to share w/ his classmates and then some.
I too went to Catholic school, but never remember having Saint parties. - Wow! Very different. We still celebrated Halloween.

Forgot to welcome back our buddy DL55!

WELCOME BACK!
Cant wait to see pics. :woohoo::woohoo:

 D&D..,.I think there's something in the air, or maybe the change of seasons. People are not in the fuzziest of moods lately. Don't let them get you down. You're a better person than that, and Sis' MIL was just plain rude and inappropriate.

Thanks Kerrie! I really needed that.

How are you and the kids doing?

We have a few illnesses right now. Should keep us on our toes.

So, LITC had the baby. Congratulations!!!!! I'm so happy for you!

Tuesdays must be a busy night for everyone!
Hells Kitchen was exciting...I don't see how they can even think with that man screaming at them all the time. I don't like the final 3 on BB either.

Why is the transportation board bad? Should I ask how I can carry my diabetic supplies on the plane without getting in trouble? I'm not checking it in my luggage...although I won't really need it when in the plane. The test strips should not be in the heat. But how do I handle it? UJust keep the kit in my purse? Have it out for them to see?

Kitty---I just realized I forgot to mention your new found friend. I'm sure he will have a great time with Puny. I just hope your bf understands.

Morning ladies! Crisp fall morning here...when did that happen?

M&N...sorry you forgot your appointment. Its just that you're so busy! Its difficult to remember all you have to do.

I've turned into one of those embarrassing people who Post-It note EVERYTHING. Errands, appointments, to-do lists, shopping lists. Its really bad right now, but its the only way I'm assured that I'm doing/getting what I have to!

Happy 9/09/09! I guess its kinda cool for the date, but people are making a much bigger deal out of it than they should...

Ugh, I have to get a new ink cartridge for the printer. Can't print out my precious coupons! I haven't done a real grocery run in a while. When I don't have mayo, pasta sauce, or bread...you know I'm in trouble.

Oh! I spoke to Edward last night....he's been accepted to a graduate program so now he can apply for a student visa! He still has a lot of paperwork to go, but hopefully, it'll pull though and I won't have to marry him!

Let's have a good day everyone!

Kitty---So glad about Edward. There's always paperwork isn't there? I do have my calendar that I would be lost without. The only problem is that it's in my purse! I think I have a calendar in my computer...maybe that would remind me. Where do you keep the post it notes to remind you? Mt frig is too loaded with magnets. I have a large wall calendar but it's behind the door if it's opened...I never look at it. I need to come up with something. I know I'm going to be really forgetting in the future!!!

Mom's got a tooth ache again...she had it filled several weeks ago. She's going to get the bus there but I'm meeting her. She really doesn't want to have a root canal and cap but she doesn't want a hole in her jaw either!

M&N...if a post-it is really really important, I attach it to my cell phone. If its something to pick up while I'm out, I put it on the door, eye level, so I can't miss it.

In terms of a calendar, I start out every day looking at my calendar for the day and week. I also update it at lunch everyday as need be. I may even glance again at it before bed. I have lots of notes of who to call, who to contact in regards to what and notations about what was sent, who was paid, what to take care of. I do a lot of the "taking care" of stuff for my parents.

Good luck to Mom and her tooth! I hope she doesn't have to get a root canal. Maybe its just a small repair job....

Morning all:

The sun is sunshining...kids are gone...what could be better??
We all survived the first day of school. Matt is in a Grade 4/5 split but is thrilled with his teacher...she is young and upbeat the straight Grade 4 teacher is older and very strict. Kate has the same teacher as last year, and because she in the french immersion stream it's the same kids, same room etc.

Congratulations-10.jpg

LITC...Walter Frank is gorgeous, I just want to kiss him!!

BKMETV, it sounds like you came away from the birthday BBQ in better shape than DH.... unless you are the one you were talking about not feeling very well today.
So you have a Golden Retriever? I always wanted one but we ended up going with DH's choice of a German Shepherd because he thought it would be the most protective of the kids. Are Goldens very protective? DH has promised DD a puppy for her birthday next year so we are debating which breed. I imagine it will be another Shepherd but I wouldn't mind going with something smaller and with less hair. Our Tessie is long haired and I have to empty the vacuum twice every time I vacuum. I was so looking forward to the day of a hair free house and then DH had to come up with this idea. Too bad she won't just settle for a guinea pig or something small.

DH is still not completely over his party...must be getting old!! Didn't make him pancakes 'cause he didn't get up until 2:00!! He got a sandwich and was sent to soak in the pool. Retriever's fur is long and tends to clump up into dust bunnies...not very hard to vacuum like the short hair of Labs and Shepherds which gets stuck in the rugs. Maybe this will help you decide:

This is the neighbour's new puppy visiting at our pool!

What do you think???

Looks like fun!! Wish I was going again.

Okay...I have a small rant to get off my chest.
Yesterday was my mom's birthday. She had originally wanted my brother, sister and I (plus families) to all get together. Well, my sister, in all her brilliance, decides that she needs to remain the center of my mom's universe and so she announces that she is taking mom out for a surprise birthday outing. Well, my brother and I, not wanting to cause a fight or anything, do not put up a fuss and let dear ol' sis take her out. Now we're thinking she has something special planned. Maybe some bonding one-on-one time. Yah, right! Turns out she took my mom to a surprise birthday party that some relatives had planned for her at their house. And, neither my brother nor I was invited. :headache: That little
10.gif
!!!!! We trusted her and once again, she has to somehow show us both up.
So...fast forward to today. It is my niece's birthday party. (Sis' kid) Brother and I show up to party only to find out all the WONDERFUL details of where my sis took mom. Now, mom feels terrible cause she didn't know and that her other kids weren't invited to HER OWN PARTY.
18.gif
How can one person be so self centered, self absorbed and and mean to her own family? :sad2: And I can't confront her on this because she will make a huge stink, start swearing like a drunken sailor (and my appologies to drunken sailors ) all in front of the kids. (She's done it before. Many times back when my dad was dying.)
What did I do to belong to a family like this???:sad2:

It sucks that we can't pick our family!!

OK Bopsmom: ADR Talk

Favs from our trip

Flametree in AK
Bkft at Chef Mickeys
Bkft at Kona
Dinner at Boma (worth it to see the AKL)
Best meal was at Narcoossee's ~ but that's a 2 TS restaurant)
Seasons at Epcot
Earl of Sandwich

Sci Fi was OK...food was fine...kids loved the cars

Well, the kids are off to school. :dance3::yay::cool1::worship::banana::thumbsup2 (hmmm, can ya tell I'm happy about it?) DS refuses to bring a lunchbox because they don't get to go to their lockers after lunch (how stupid is that?!?) so he would have to carry his lunch box all afternoon. So I packed him a peanut butter and banana sandwich in a brown paper bag, and froze his milk so it will be cold at lunchtime. (if it doesn't thaw, he has milk money just in case!) Such a production! DD is buying today--I let them each choose 3 days a month to buy. Today is her all time favorite, "Rib-e-que". Basically boneless ribs but she loves them. At least she picks some decent stuff. DS chose pizza, mozzarella sticks, and some other "kid food" that he shouldn't be eating. Oh well, gotta give them SOME leeway... Anyway, can you believe milk is 50 cents? When I was in HS, LUNCH was 50 cents! (OK, so I'm seriously dating myself here) Just amazing.

I just wish I could do PB, it would make life so much easier...unfortunately schools here are all nut free due to allergies. My big beef is the at the big school where DS now is they only have 10 min to eat and then are sent outside to play...he bought half his lunch home because he didn't have time to eat it. This was after the principal had an first day assembly in which he stressed how food feeds the mind!!:confused3 Definitely an issue I'll be bringing up at the first Home & School meeting!!

Well it's Domestic Goddess time...the laundry awaits

TTYL

I've noticed the transportation sections (here and on Cruise Critic) tend to be very serious. I think it must be from having to deal with the airlines for so long. :rolleyes1
What a cute puppy! :lovestruc
I'm still doing laundry. How can I have more laundry from 2 weeks vacation than I do from a regular 2 weeks?

Re: Transportation board. They leave these snarky comments, in my instance, "MCO isn't a 24 hour airport" or "free dining isn't really free...blah blah marketing" but they don't proceed to explain WHY. I consider MCO airport coz its open 24 hours...the food court may not be, but I have arrived/departed anywhere between 1-5 am, and I consider that all night open.

Re: laundry. It'll never get done. As soon as you finish, tomorrow there will be more. Just enjoy the fact that you had a wonderful time on vacation where laundry wasn't an issue at all.

So, DL55...why don't you take a break from the miseable laundry and tell us all about Alaska! :woohoo:

YEAH! Us TKers don't sweat the small stuff---like piles of clothing we cannot wear!
4.gif
As you can see from this illustration...it never gets done anyway! :lmao: Alaska sounds like way more fun!
4.gif
We've been waiting and waiting!

Hello.

I HATE laundry! It really is never ending with 6 of us here, 7 actually since my husband has a whole set of clothes just for work that have to be washed separately.

Magikitty, I can't believe people were being snarky to you. I haven't checked out all the sections here but everyone's been so nice. Especially all of you.
