TKers Take the Fifth!

Hi everyone!
Glad to see MagiKitty back.
Love to see Puny too. pirate:
Been away from the computer. We're getting the rest of the kitchen and family room ready to paint. Have I mentioned how much I hate the prep work? :rotfl2: We ordered new blinds for the room also. I can't wait to see if this makes the room look better. Since I've been watching Hoarders I want to try harder to get rid of things. :rolleyes1

MUST. BEAT. CANADIAN!!!!! C'mon Ev, gimme a break!:lmao: Fiona is doing well. She has the day off today since I had major dental work done under sedation and I'm not allowed to drive until tomorrow.

My exciting day has consisted of a loooooong nap at the dentist--I don't think I lasted 5 minutes after they turned off the light! Came home and slept some more. Woke up, harvested my crops on Farmville, and took another nap. I lead such a thrilling life!

Oh, and Kitty? God Bless You!!! Gesundheit!

Feel better Wendy! And thank you for the blessings. See, BF, is that so hard?

DL55...you are such a trooper! Doing multiple rooms?! Crazyness! The offer to fix my closet still stands...I've watched Hoarders too. Scary! And sad too...

I cannot offer any help about lawn mowers, but I'd imagine this is a great time to pick one up, post-season. Congrats!

Marie...I love anything furry! Those fur-flipflops may be considered! Does it have traction so I don't fall down going out to my car? :rotfl2:

I survived the garage! I only saw half a dozen spiders, managed to straighten up some of the disaster, change the garage kitty's litter box, gathered a stash of shoe boxes to get gifts ready for Operation Christmas child AND grabbed 2 ornaments to send your way Shmu. I was really rockin & rollin today! :woohoo: Now I just wish I had a magic wand to whip up supper. :wizard:

Thanks for the link Marie! Although looking comfy, around here, I need some toe coverage! May be good for the cooler days of late summer, but in the mornings here, its been around freezing!

I think Pinecone also has a PayPal option...but I don't know how to do that. Its slow in the beginning, but especially this time of year, there are a lot of surveys out there, and soon you'll be testing products at home! This week, I qualified for cat food, deodorant, and conditioner. I'm sure my mailman is tired of me!

I just keep several checks and deposit them at one time. I know they seems small amounts, but every bit helps!

You rock, Marie! Congrats on conquering the garage. I was just telling my BF that I missed Free Dining...no planning, no grocery, no preparing, no clean up! Good luck on supper! We had the Filipino version of lo mein....its called pancit. Its basically noodles with any sort of leftovers available. In my case, it was chicken and vegetables. Quick and easy!

BKMETV, I am in the same boat with you. My DD's teeth have come in and are now a big crooked mess. Never had any experience with braces before. I can just hear her screaming and kicking all the way! Wonder at what age they start working on it?
So John Deere has been a good one, huh? Will have to pass that one along. I don't mow around here myself. First time he told me "how to do it" was the last time. His job is the mowing now and I try to keep up with the flowerbeds.

Kate will be 8 in Feb...they did a panorama x-ray in the spring and discovered all sorts of things were going wrong with her adult teeth...she has a small extra tooth below the gum at the front and is missing one of her adult molars (I have the same tooth missing so I guess it's hereditary) Anyways we've been to the orthodontist & had molds done of her teeth, so next is a consultation in Nov to decide how to proceed...I assume she won't get braces for a few years but they may have to pull teeth in the meantime.

MUST. BEAT. CANADIAN!!!!! C'mon Ev, gimme a break!:lmao: Fiona is doing well. She has the day off today since I had major dental work done under sedation and I'm not allowed to drive until tomorrow.
Tod thought I was insane the other night when I told him what I was doing...I was swearing because I couldn't remember where Oklahoma was!!
Hope the teeth are OK.

What is it with some people! Why can't they call first before they come over! My house looks like a dump and I was exhausted from work. I'm sure they have cell phones so why couldn't they give me a heads up that they would be coming for a visit!

:lmao:

Pikester At least they look like a friendly bunch. :lmao:
mariezp Surviving the garage. :thumbsup2 I don't like looking around ours either. Once found a black widow.
MagiKitty Although it sounds like multiple rooms, we have an open plan so the kitchen and family room are together. Makes it a problem, once I start one side you can see it from the other so then I must finish the rest of the room. Then of course I"ll be able to see the new paint from the living room/ dining area so then I'll want to continue. DH has quite the "Honey do" list when he retires. :rotfl2:

Pikester, that pic made me laugh out loud!

DL55...at least you're sharing the burden of renovating! :thumbsup2

I went to the bank today to deposit checks. Too bad I forget them at home. Had to go to the grocers today too. Out of canned cat food--the fuzzy ones were staring me down last night in protest. yeah! Cocoa on sale.

My life's needs are so simple.

Mom and I cannot find a decent baby doll anywhere. We've looked at Toyrus, Walmart, Target...they have dolls, but Mom wants a life-size doll, at least 20 inches. Cannot be found! What are little girls playing with today? My little 3 year old cousin is devastated because her favorite doll's eye fell out (which I found kinda funny) and we've been looking for a replacement. Who knew it would be so difficult?

Hello everyone. Thought I would stop in here for a minute and see how everyone is. Well, the highlight of my week has been that we picked up the keys to our new house yesterday. We were able to take a few things over today. I'm feeling a ton of different emotions right now.

Everything else this week has been horrible. Our computer died yesterday along with my husband's work truck. My son is in all kinds of trouble and we don't know what to do with him right now. It's just one thing after another. Right now, I am just hoping that the change in schools will help a little bit.

Pikester, I guess those are the flat tkers? That's pretty cool that you all are such great friends. I promise that I'll pm you soon.

DL55, we are going to have to do some painting and such when we move in. Maybe I'll have to ask you for some tips.

Magikitty, I have 3 girls and I wish I could give you doll advice but none of them liked dolls. Not even Barbie dolls. Now if you wanted advice on matchbox cars or monster trucks, then I could help you. :rotfl:

You're flat tkers are too cute!!

Home sick  today w/ flu symptoms. Feel awful. Just had to get out of bed for a while and attempt to eat and feel normal.
We had quite a week at our house too. Like JOCA our VCR/DVD player went out on Sun. Then this morning the converter box for our TV took a dive. :headache: Not even a year old - that stupid thing!!!! Well, since we don't have cable we told the kids we'll be playing it "old school" for a few days until we can get another box. No TV. :eek:Suppose we should get a digital TV, but that will have to wait for Christmas. When it rains it pours.

Pikester - Hope the TKers are being good. No wild parites now! :rotfl2:

Kitty - It really is hard to find a good baby doll. I haven't had to buy one except when the my DS11 was 4 and baby brother came along. He wanted to have a "baby" too. Found one at a garage sale.
Did you check out Furry Crocs yet??? Think they are called Mammoth??? Those might be warm and keep toes enclosed during the winter. And I'll excuse the fashion faux pas as long as you only wear them around the house. ;):rotfl::rotfl:

JOCA - on getting keys to new house!!!
Bummer that you had all those things go wrong though. I feel your pain. I've got a son that is a handful too.

 Oh, poor you! Hope you feel better soon, and that DH and DSs don't catch it.

And I have a pair of the "furry crocs". They do keep your feet warm. But I like my Uggs better...

Why is it as soon as you spend $ on something you want then everything else starts breaking? I liked Barbie and Matchbox. We even had our own Tonka Trucks (metal ones). We were 3 girls no brothers. ;)

Hi MagiKitty and whgrn!

Does anyone know how to give a cat a pill without losing a lot of blood? I need to give my older cat an antibiotic pill for two weeks. I think I'll need a blood transfusion and skin grafts. :rotfl2:

Evening ladies. All I have to say here is SNOW! :scared1: Of course, its the one time the weatherman has gotten the forecast right. I had to double check my calendar...it is October, right? WHY is it snowing outside? And its not pretty flurries then melt kind of snow...its sticking!

JOCA...congrats on the new house! How wonderful for all of you. I totally understand about the mixed emotions. Even if your family has outgrown your present apartment, it was your family's home and filled with memories and love. But now you have a new place to lay your head and continue making wonderful memories!

D&D...oh no! You poor sick dearie! Is anyone taking care of you? Plenty of fluids and time to shut the Mommy-switch off. You need to take care of yourself at the moment, get some sleep and get better!

Wendy, I wear the fuzzy Crocs at home, they don't have enough traction for me to venture outdoors in. They are very comfy. My Uggs have the serious traction, so I can't wear them around the house. Maybe I should get a pair of fUggs for slipper wear.

DL55...my kitties will eat practically everything, so when one of them have to take some pills, I hide it in some food and they just gobble it down. I usually use cold cuts of some sort, or I pack a little tuna around the pill and let them eat it. Your cat may be smarter than mine and not fall for it, but that's the only way I know to both get the kitty medicated and to walk away with all my appendages!

Pike--that is the BEST use of the TKers I have ever seen. Too bad we are all so darn rude, eh!?!?!?!?!?!

JOCA -- so sorry to hear about all the negatives going on with your family right now. That is so hard to deal with. I truly hope all gets better very soon.

Home sick  today w/ flu symptoms. Feel awful. Just had to get out of bed for a while and attempt to eat and feel normal.

D&D -- hope you feel better soon. DH has been sick a few days, went to the dr, it is not flu but dr called it a viral (something--i forget the exact name, I was giving Walter a bottle).

Well, everyone keep your fingers crossed for me. I sent an email to work today "asking" to be able to work special hours (basically working opposite hours of my husband) and also for a raise, lets see what happens!

LITC, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. I really hope that your job can help you out by being flexible with the hours.

Good evening ladies. Not much happening today.

Kitty, I think Pinecone will be a lot of fun when it picks up. Sounds like it will be fun getting the samples. Have you ever done any Neilson surveys? I got on their Homescan Panel. My scanner will be here tomorrow. It will be curious to see how that works out. I've got a couple of other accounts that I need to get cashed out for a little extra spending money for the trip.
I bet that is a shock to your system to come back after free dining! I think not having to cook or clean for 2 weeks is one of my favorite things about vacations!
Egads! Snow already! You poor thing! Break out the furry shoes QUICK!

Ev, Poor Kate does sound like she has a mess in her mouth! How does she take going to the dentist? I am terrified of going myself so I am not a good choice for getting my kids there! I know my DD is gonna be panicked when she goes.

DL55, we have black widow spiders here under almost everything... but usually only outdoors. It is the brown recluse ones that I am so worried about. All the stupid brown spiders look pretty much the same to me! I didn't used to worry about them much but thanks to DH he has mentioned them so often that I now worry about it too when I have to venture to the deep, dark depths of the garage.
I hope your spring/winter cleaning is continuing to progress well.
I feel for you right now. It is not fun trying to give a cat a pill! I have one cat that is a little mentaly challenged that is fine for doing anything to as long as she gets some petting in the process. BUT my other cat who is more like a normal cat... I don't even want to think about how I would come out of that! Anyway, good luck to you... here's hoping your kitty is cooperative like my little Ezri.

JOCAmom, yay for getting the keys! Too bad about all the other stuff. Here's a  and I'll send a prayer your way.

D&D, hope you get to feeling better real soon! Being sick sucks! Too bad about your stuff too. Here's another  and sending a prayer your way too.

LITC, will keep my fingers crossed that you get the raise and the hours you are hoping for.

Yesterday I went to the optometrist. She said I had healthy eyes and no significant problems. :thumbsup2 Since I had laser surgery done many years ago I have had trouble with my eyes drying out more often. Also, my reading vision is changing since I am getting OLDER but not so much that I need glasses yet. The main time I really have much problem is at church looking up and down during the sermon. She said I must be changing where I look so often that my eyes are having trouble readjusting from close up to far away. Guess I am going to have to find a way to make myself quite wiggling so much and use more eye drops so the AC doesn't dry them out if I want to keep from giving myself a headache every Sunday.

Speaking of Sunday and church... got another of those strange Facebook requests today. This man is a member of our church but I am not sure we have ever spoken a dozen words to each other. He also sent a request to my son. Do some people just go looking for people to raise the number of people on their list? I don't have anything against the guy but I really don't care for just anyone and everyone reading my business. I don't get it. :confused3
