My youngest 2 don't even realize that MTV use to play videos. I use to stay up really late watching videos way back in the day.

MK, you have pink and Hello Kitty in your car???? Really, I never would have guessed. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I am not worried about driving with you. And after driving with my DH for years, I bet there isn't even a swear word you could say that would surprise me.

Oh Mickey you're so fine. You're so fine you blow my mind. Hey Mickey! Hey Mickey!

Video killed the radio star!

ah, the early days of cable. I used to stay up late too, which was funny coz there were only about 20 videos at the time and they played them over and over! I remember even watching American Bandstand and Solid Gold!

I also remember my mother distinctly telling me not to watch a certain channel. And I never did! Only later did I find out that our cable was wonky and we were getting the Playboy channel for free!

All this skiing coverage made me think of Freezy Freaky snowgloves. Do y'all remember them? They would change color when they got cold?

The Sirius tells you the name, band and year of all the songs.. Man I feel old sometimes! And how come I can still sing every single Culture Club song but can't remember why I stopped at the store?

I'm always telling Brian how weird it is that after a few notes of a song on the radio I can remember all the words but I could never remember the information that I needed for a test.

Thanks, Pikester, now I have those songs in my head.

You were such a good girl, MK. I might not have watched either but I know my brother would have. Heck,he would have skipped school for that.

Those gloves sound familiar. Might have to do a search and see if they are what I'm thinking of.

You think its a girl thing? I can do that too...and BF just looks at me like I'm insane. He can remember maybe 10 songs from his life....unfortunately one of them is Baby Got Back.

It might be a girl thing....we are all like that here. Even songs that I haven't heard for years.

What's wrong with Baby Got Back? :rotfl2: DH knows the words to that song and the Thong Song.

Well, those ARE the classics. Up there with Pour Some Sugar on me...

Night Pikester!

Def Leppard.....my 16th birthday present from my parents were tickets to go see them in Philly. It was their first tour after their drummer had that accident. They let me take a friend and I remember how thrilled I was since tickets were what was considered expensive at that time.

That is a really cool present!

I saw them in college. There was a year that everyone came to town. We saw them, Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams, and Depeche Mode. It was quite possibly the reason I did not get Dean's list that sem.

I saw a special where Def Leppard performed with Taylor Swift. It was so great! But they don't sell it on CD...just DVD.

I never got to see Bon Jovi. They did tape on of their videos here, if I remember correctly.

I use to go to so many concerts. We have an outside concert venue and a smaller arena. Unfortunately, neither seem to be very interesting in booking concerts anymore.

Most of my teenage concerts were heavy metal or what was heavy metal at the time. I saw Aerosmith 2x. They put on an awesome show. I've even seen Ozzy.

My second concert ever was to see Kiss. At the time, not very cool, but hey, the tickets were free. Now? It sounds way cooler to my nephew and friends...

I want to see Aerosmith so badly! Not too long ago there was some story how Steven Tyler wanted to sue the band coz they were trying to replace him...I think it has something to do with all the rehab Steven's been doing...

I don't follow much of what goes on in the entertainment biz. He was in rehab? So sad since the puts on a great show. But if they tried to replace him, I think it would be the downfall of the group.

I also got to see MC Hammer at the height of his fame. That was an interesting show since he had someone dressed as Freddy from Friday the 13th out on stage for the encore.

I saw the Monkees on the big comeback tour, Reo Speedwagon and Rick Springfield when they really hit it big. Oh, the memories.

What are some of your more memorable concerts?

The Jackson's Victory Tour in Philly at the old JFK stadium. We went down and got rained out, and had to come back another night. The show was awesome.

Billy Joel, also in Philly. We had seats BEHIND the stage, but the stage rotated, and we were in the 8th row. So when it came around our way, we had fablous seats. I went home that night with no voice left!

Many, many country acts--Dixie Chicks, Reba, Tim McGraw, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Tanya Tucker, too many to remember.

Some oldies but goodies--James Taylor, Simon and Garfunkel, Peter,Paul and Mary.

In the past 5 or 6 years I've been to ALOT of Christian concerts--Mercy Me, Big Daddy Weave, Casting Crowns, Mark Schultz, Avalon, 4Him, Michael W. Smith, Point of Grace. Some I've seen multiple times (I think we've seen Big Daddy Weave at least 5 times, and Mark Schultz the same) Tonite was my second time for Casting Crowns. They are AWESOME and put on an amazing show. Everybody sings along, which I love. The concert went from 7 to 10:30--I'd say we MORE than got our money's worth!! Didn't get home til an hour ago, and I can never go right to sleep after a long drive or I'll "drive all night". But I think now my bed is calling me so loud I can't ignore it! And the alarm is gonna be ringing in about 6.5 hours. UGH!!
