You'll be fine. Take your time and let the room speak to you. Wacky, I know, but sometimes that works. Why do you think it has taken me 3 years to get paint on my walls.
Normally, I find a wallpaper boarder, pillow, painting and go with a color from there. Helps me get started. For some reason, with the kitchen, I just had this color in my head and I can't seem to get the right shade. Or, get a color that doesn't look one way in light and another in sun.

I'm worried about the sunlight in our living room when we paint it. We have a fairly large window that gets sunlight all morning. It does make things look totally different.

And knowing me, it will take me a year to decide on colors.

Nah, that was the dining room. I would love to finish the basement off and turn it into a game room. Both DH's dad and his brother are in the home improvement business so it's still an option.

Thank you everyone for the well wishes, dad is home after a blood clot in lung, seems a little better when I spoke to him. Hubby is getting better from flu that then became a stomach bug. Still not back to normal but a big improvement. And baby Walter is stuck with yet another respitory illness. He is back on the breathing treatments and generally feeling unwell, also has a fever this time around. Stayed home with him today and we are laying on the floor playing with a leapfrog toy, which he actually seems to be enjoying. Hope to talk to you all soon, about much more fun stuff!

LITC Hope everyone improves quickly.

D&DDisney I understand your dilemma. It took me 11 years before I committed to painting one room. I still need to do the rest of the house. If I don't pick up speed it won't ever be done. I think just finish painting and wait awhile (not as long as me though ) and see how you feel about it.

I just checked out the newbie forum. Some one has signed on and declared himself a Disney expert. This could become interesting.

ok, start over...good afternoon everyone! The snow is predicted for tomorrow, but it looks like its going to start tonight by the looks of the sky at the moment. Ugh, I'm supposed to drive to JFK tomorrow to get rid of my mother (nah, I like her, she's just going to the Phils). Its predicted to be 2-4 inches, and I hope they're completely wrong and it just passes us by.

Geez, I never thought about painting I guess. But I don't have a lot of painted walls though. I have a LOT of wainscoting around the house. I have cats. Walls are dangerous to their little paws and my sanity.

Yeah, BF and I ate there too...it was really yummy. I remember I had a coconut creme brulee that was to die for! I sent one card to BF's address, and one to mine...now all we have to do is get down there and use them!
